Dr. Enke has been a home town veterinarian since 1989. She grew up in Martinez and attended the local schools prior to going on to higher education. She graduated from UC Davis in 1989, and purchased Martinez Animal Hospital from Dr. Monser in 1999 after working with him in the practice for 10 years.
Here at Martinez Animal Hospital, we are pleased to have the following veterinary services available for our patients. We are proud to be able to serve Martinez, CA and our surrounding communities to give your pet the best care that they deserve! This safe, permanent identification is provided by a tiny microchip programed with a unique un-alterable code that can be identified by hand held scanner. Animal control officers, animal shelters and veterinarians across the country have scanners capable of reading the microchip.
Martinez Animal Hospital (MAH) rescues and finds homes for cats and kittens to help reduce over-population and the overwhelming number of kittens in shelters. Each kitten receives a complete health screening before entering our adoption condo. Here, they continue to receive quality care, socialization and love until the purr-fect family agrees to adopt.
At Martinez Animal Hospital, you can expect state of the art medical care for your four-legged companions. We believe in nurturing the human-animal bond and creating a harmonious relationship between people and animals. You can expect to be greeted by a courteous receptionist, clean exam rooms, friendly doctors, and caring technicians.

I've had several bad experiences here and will never bring my pet back. My dog had an ear infection and I brought him in for treatment. They never offered me any options and selected the treatment on their own. They still don't allow entry into their facility. I was invoiced $200 and had a follow up 3 weeks later. I noticed their treatment wasn't working well. On the follow up they said their initial treatment didn't work and used an alternative treatment. I was again invoiced $200.

I had a great experience with Martinez Animal Hospital. My cat, Sprinkles was not feeling well so I brought her to Martinez Animal Hospital. They ran some tests and she was diagnosed with Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). There is no cure for this virus so I had to put her down which is one of the hardest things to do. Martinez Animal Hospital was very supportive and caring. They took care of Sprinkles up to her last moment. I highly recommend Martinez Animal Hospital for your pets. My dog, Koko goes there now.

I really appreciate how flexible and accommodating they are. When we need to get in to see them, they always make the time. I also appreciate how they keep me updated on preventative care needs, which is easy to forget. Their staff is nice and friendly and very informative. Since our boy was a pup (6 years ago), we have been part of Banfield Vet Services. They have great modern features, however I don't have a feeling of them knowing me or my beloved pet. After my first visit at Martinez Animal Hospital, I found the COVID set up very efficient. Dr. Enke and her team was personable, experienced and cared very much about my concern and the health of our boy.

I love the staff here. They are casual and put you at easy. They know what they are doing and explain to you what your options are. They have been great at getting us is when needed. Having a senior dog we go through more medical issues than younger dogs. They have been experts on understand my senior Lab.
