Lund Equine is a full service equine hospital located in Billings, MT. We specialize in advanced diagnostics and surgery with practical Montana service and pricing. There is a veterinarian available 24/7 to assist you with any equine emergency and a board certified equine surgeon is available at any time to assist with surgical emergencies. In addition to specialty care, we also offer mobile veterinary services to the surrounding Yellowstone county.

Lund Equine is owned operated by Caleb Lund, DVM, MS, DACVS-LA. Dr. Lundís specialties include complex lameness diagnosis, abdominal/colic surgeries, arthroscopic surgeries and fracture repairs as well as other soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.

We live and work in South Central Montana and we are not a satellite location. This allows us to provide more stable, consistent, high-quality service and as an added benefit, allows us to keep our prices consistently affordable.

Our primary goal is to provide you and your horse with state-of-the-art medicine and technology in order to better care for your equine friend. With the ability to provide a more accurate diagnosis, we can offer your horse a targeted treatment and dramatically improve their results.

Our second goal is to provide personalized, practical and simple customer service. We understand that everyone, along with their horse have different needs, and we are prepared to find the best solution for all involved. To achieve this, we schedule appointments with adequate time to discuss all the options in order to develop the best treatment plan possible for both you and your horse.

We believe in affordable care for you and your horse. Our door is always open, call anytime with questions and we will be happy to visit with you.

Caleb Lund

Owner

Caleb Lund, DVM, MS, DACVS-LA is a fifth-generation cattle rancher, from Lusk, Wyoming. His family has owned and operated the ranch continuously since the 1870s. Dr. Lundís interest in veterinary medicine began as a ranch kid, where he witnessed firsthand just how important large animal health is both personally and economically to ranching families.

Dr. Lund graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in veterinary medicine. His first job out of veterinary school was as an intern veterinarian at Pioneer Equine Hospital, an equine surgery center in Oakdale, California. This hands-on opportunity allowed him to earn a three-year equine surgery residency at Washington State University.

While at WSU he learned from several board-certified surgeons in all areas of equine surgery, including abdominal, airway, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery, as well as lameness diagnosis. He was also able to study with the experts in other fields, including diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and equine medicine. Caleb Lund successfully completed his surgical residency, passing his surgery board examination in 2014. Dr. Lund is the only full-time board-certified equine surgeon ( or Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons) in the Yellowstone area. Dr. Lundís professional interests include complex lameness diagnosis, upper airway conditions, and fracture repair.

He has authored papers in peer-reviewed veterinary journals on minimally invasive surgery, complex lameness diagnosis, and abdominal surgery, and he speaks at continuing-education meetings about conditions of the equine head. He is passionate about surgical innovation from both a practical and academic perspective, and he plans to continue these at Lund Equine.
