Las Vegas Animal Emergency

Don't go there. They are more concerned with your wallet than your pet. I'm tired of being treated like I am a scammer that doesn't pay my bills. I do.

I'm surprised y'all even have 2 stars. I was there for 3 hours sweating with no AC in the rooms while my cat was struggling to breathe all they wanted was my money. I paid $100 just for the vet to tell me my cat wasn't breathing right no sh*t why do you think I brought him here? They offered no help whatsoever I was crying in the lobby signing the "decline" papers because I could not afford the ridiculous prices. F*ck this place. I'm so glad Sahara animal hospital was actually able to help my cat a few days later. THEY DID NOTHING TO HELP AND JUST MADE ME FEEL LIKE CRAP FOR CRYING.

Very frustrated with my visit. Took my 1 year old in for low energy, lethargic, low appetite and overall just not herself. they saw her right away. Decided to do an X Ray. Said I would need to leave her as it could take a radiologist 3-4 hours to read the X Ray. I wanted to just take her home and have them call when they knew something but they said no.

This was at 11pm. I called every hour through the night. still no report from the radiologist. Finally at 7am I just went there. They closed at 8am, I still had no answers, they had my baby there all night for no reason. We're home all day today with still now answers, she's still not acting right and I feel like I threw $800 down the drain.

We brought my dog here because he was throwing up. They charged us $1600 to take X-rays and do blood work and acted surprised when we wouldn't authorize them to spend double that before knowing if there were any serious problems. Although neither the X-rays nor the blood work showed any serious issues, the vet--who would only speak to us by phone, supposedly because of COVID, which was odd because the vet techs did come out and speak to people in person, without masks--acted like our dog was gravely ill and tried to convince us to pay another several thousand dollars to leave our dog overnight to get IV fluids.

When we told him that we did not feel comfortable having our dog there and asked for them to return him to us, the vet continued to try to scare us into leaving him there and said we could only take our dog home if we filled out a form indicating it was against medical advice. (Of course, when that scare tactic didn't work they did not actually have a form for us to sign.).

He did convince us to let him give our dog an antacid, which he said over the phone would cost $40 and then we were charged $75 (and is the same medication you could buy on Amazon for about $5). It took them 45 minutes to bring our dog out after we asked them to return him, and they brought him back covered in feces. The person who called this a predatory vet is spot on -- if you love your pet and don't want to needlessly throw away thousands of dollars, avoid this place at all costs.

I am so glad that I decided to go to Animal Focus Vet - ER. They were truly amazing. I will always appreciate everything they did for me and my dog. I feel peace know he got the highest quality of care during the last hours of his life. Dr. Hiscocks was very patient with me and made sure that my husband and I understood what was happening. They allowed me to say a final goodbye to my dog after he passed which I will forever be grateful for. Although I am heartbroken that my dog didn't make it, I am so thankful for Dr. Hiscocks and the team at Animal Focus ER.

Family had to put the family dog down and as heartbreaking as it was, the staff made us all extremely comfortable and were extremely caring and just made us feel like family. Receptionists Alyssa and Lisa were there through every step. Explained everything to a T as far as paperwork and what we were signing. Gave us tissue and offered condolences and it was clear in their faces that they were just as heartbroken about our baby leaving our side as we were. Dr Dever was beyond compare from other vets we've seen. Told us our options, helped us make the decision, and made us feel extremely comfortable. Ivy was just as awesome and helped through the process and showed the same level of sympathy and care.

I cannot recommend this vet enough. I wish they offered primary care. I'd switch in a heartbeat. These people have the hardest job imaginable. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The staff was very caring and compassionate to the emergency I had with my cat. I would go back to them if I have any more emergencies.

I can't believe what transpired here. There is such a thing as predatory lending. this is similar. This is a predatory vet. Do not go here. There is a reason the Emergency vet on Durango has a 3 hour wait and you can walk in here. I have a 14 year old dog. 2 other dogs in the house had a stomach virus. My little 8 pound 14 year old got it, he was vomiting.

He needed something to help calm the stomach. My baby is old. We are keeping him comfortable. Not putting him through a roller coaster ride. Putting him through 1,900 worth of testing just so they feel comfortable calming his tummy? Insane. I went to 2 different vets with the other 2 dogs this week with the same virus.nothing like that was a remote possibility.

They charge 100 to get you in the door ( typical emergency vet fee is 200) and then they prey on ignorance and fear. I got my dog out of there. I went to the clinic on Durango. Got the shot to ease the stomach the nausea they verified he wasn't dehydrated and we are home safe. Same as the other 2 vets with the other 2 dogs this week. These predators wanted to put this poor senior dog through a nightmare.

I told the vet I saw after I left here and she was just baffled and sorry that happened to us. It's disgraceful that they get away with this. Shameful. To the lady who helped me with paperwork, I think you know where you are working is a scam and is preying on people. I saw compassion in your eyes. Find a job that you can help people, not this insanity.

You can do better. Once I saw them ask for a social security number and credit card number on the intake form I should have known immediately. Don't go here. I'm closing the credit card I used there just to be safe. I hope I save someone from this place.

I can't thank the staff and doctors here enough. They not only took such great care of my baby, but also me. I was such a crying distraught mess when I arrived, the woman Lisa picked me up and got me water. Was so calming and sweet. When I arrived screaming for help Maia rushed over and took my baby. And Maia truly took the time to explain everything, and truly care for my pup.

She answered every question, and made everything relatively easily. I could tell she really loves animals and she wasn't going to let my dog be in any discomfort. The whole staff really loved on my sweet girl and I truly believe that energy helped her heal. They also text me through out the night with updates and pictures to let me know she was ok.

I am so grateful for the nurses and staff. Dr Dever was great and very thorough. I trusted everything he said and as nervous as I was to leave my dog there over night I knew she was in the best hands. I do wish I could have actually talked to him face to face and not on a phone call but I'm assuming it's still for Covid protocol. Over all I'm so grateful my dog and I were in the care of the staff at Animal Focus ER. I can't thank them enough.

They will kill your dog with a smile. I have never in my life, had a vet tech come out to me and tell me medical information that the veterinarian should have done. Where the hell is the doctor? Why am I talking with these techs?! Who's running the show here? My dog went in for throwing up and these techs (not the doctor) tell me that we need surgery but they don't know what they are going in for? I'm sorry but I think a few more tests besides a basic cbc and chem.

Need to be done before we consider surgery. Where the hell is the vet? Why am I talking to a tech that can't even explain to me the basics of a cbc and chem exam. Where the hell did this place get a license? Don't come here. Also, very unprofessional and lacked any bedside manner. Find another place!

Stay away from this place. You cannot speak to a doctor "due to covid", and they do unneeded tests and are in it for the money. My brother in laws dog is now dead due to their incompetence and no doctor was ever present just their vet techs who are not qualified along with a hefty bill! This place needs to be shut down! Shocking service and etiquette.

Worst place ever. they will SCAM you. took my dog in on Friday night because she ate something and was shaking. they took my dog to back and came back that there was a $1,200 deposit before she received any medical attention. they will scare you telling you that your dog is doing really bad.so I paid the 1,200 so they can start to check her. 15 minutes later receptionist comes outside to my car to tell me that my dog was crashing and more money was needed to perform CPR on her I said I had no more money so she said she will come back out and get us so we can say our good byes to our dog. she comes out 10 minutes later that my puppie is responding but on a ventilator and that $300 more was needed to do more studies on her. was told that her sugar was really low. so had to leave her over night.

I called at 5am to get update and was told she was doing really good. got there at 7:00 am to pick her up so I can transfer her to Craig animal hospital like they recommended and I was told that she was about to seizure. all a bunch of lies. my dog never got diagnosed. showed up to Craig animal hospital and they couldn't believe that my dog was about to die like they said. they were pretty upset and said they have received previous complaints about this place. not to mention they said that my dog did not show any signs of her being on a ventilator like they said. she stayed over night for only 200 and did really good no complications like this dam scam hospital said she had. do not bring your pets here they are SCAM artists. by the way her name is snowball. Fox5 will be hearing about this. those are pictures of snowball when we transferred to Craig animal hospital like they recommended. does she look like a dog that was just about to die like these scammers said.

Took my 15 year old lab in a couple weeks before Christmas because she was falling all over the place and had a head tilt. This place was amazing. We got in fairly quickly and they took great care of my baby girl. Then we're able to diagnose her, keep her over night on Ivs, and send her home with some medication. Since we took her in at 8pm on a Sunday we know that an Vet ER was our only option so we knew it was going to be pricy once we ended up picking her up Monday morning. All in all, the staff and doctors were amazing and I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for taking care of my baby and getting her better

This team is amazing! After hours emergency vet care is difficult for all involved and everyone from the doctor to the tech to the receptionist was caring, kind, and helpful in every way. I could not have asked or hoped for a better experience. The kindness from receptionist was truly above and beyond. The doctor was calm and reassuring and they were transparent with costs every step of the way.

People give unfair reviews at times because of the expenses-the fact is-they are all expensive, it's emergency care. But in terms of the quality of care and kindness-their is no place else I will take my dog in an emergency instance and feel confident referring others to this business.

This place was amazing I found a little kitty that that had some uri issues and they treated her and she is doing amazing. They doctor was very professional and nice and the nurse Ivy definitely left an impression she was amazing and so caring. Ivy was very informative as well. You can just tell this facility truly cares about the animals.

This is the worst vet I have ever been to in my life. The take a reasonable price for services and literally multiply it by 10. The main concern here is lining their own pockets, not helping you or your animals. I grew up on a 200 acre ranch and am very familiar with vets and fair prices, I was offended when they handed me the estimate. This place tried to charge me over 3k to stitch up a laceration on my dogs foot. Don't waste your time coming here, you're going to pay 100.00 to find out how bad they will attempt to scam you. Take your business elsewhere.
