Dr. Cottingham along with the help of his wife, Caroline, and two employees began Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital in 1985. The veterinary practice has grown in the intervening years to over 25 support personnel and 5 additional doctors. One of those doctors is Dr. Amie Hooper, Dr. Cottingham and Caroline's daughter.
At Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital, we offer a variety of services to care for your pet. We are a full-functioning Animal Hospital with the ability to see emergencies during business hours; however, we ask that you make an appointment in order to allow ample time for each patient to be seen and to minimize waiting.
Here at PetStreat Boarding, your pet is like family. We focus on providing a safe, nurturing and enriching experience while boarding where our main priority is their well-being! PetStreat is located on the street side of our amazing hospital, Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital, where additional medical services can be provided and/or medical needs can be addressed at your convenience.
Regular checkups and wellness exams are critical to your pet's well-being. These wellness exams should occur at least once a year, and give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while also giving us a baseline for their own unique bodies and tendencies. Not only do these exams keep us up-to-date with your pet's health, they also allow us to detect potential problems before they become serious. Your pet will be thoroughly examined by a veterinarian and this checkup gives us vital information to help keep your pet healthy.

They took excellent care of my sweet baby girl and the vet called me several times over the course of her treatment. I know he cared about her health and well-being and it was not just an assembly line of one pet after another. The cost was also reasonable for the type of treatment. I was pleasantly surprised.

My two dogs are patients here. Since the first visit I always felt like they were cared for so professionally and as if they were the doctors own pets. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Although more expensive than other clinics, I take comfort in the price because the level of care is top notch. I have been able to be squeezed in last minute when I have pet emergencies. A clean facility that I feel safe taking my pets to.

My 9 month old kitten had a pinkish eye with lots of discharge and they made an appointment for her right away. The vet was very gentle and kept her calm while he looked at it. Gave us some eye drops and it's already looking better. Great vets at Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital and very kind. Always ready to answer questions for you and make time for serious cases!

I have been to two other vets in the last year. One of those, twice. Neither could tell me what was wrong with my fur baby. I provided pictures and they would shrug it off and make me feel crazy. Kitty hawk did the complete opposite. They listened to what I had to say. They acknowledged the pictures I provided and help find what was wrong with my baby and provided a solution.
I was expecting the procedure to cause thousands. To my surprise the price is reasonable. I'm so happy to finally have answers and move forward with getting my dog the help he needs. Thank you kitty hawk for actually caring about my fur baby.

I always bring my fur babies in here for 2 years now but never got to go inside the facility because of the pandemic. finally, I got to be with my fur baby yesterday during her check up. all staff are friendly ever since. Facility is very clean, no pet smell or anything! The vet is very accommodating to all my questions and concerns, very informative! (Sorry, Forgot her name) highly recommended! Keep up the good work!

We have been seeing the team at Kitty Hawk since we moved nearby 4 years ago. We have been happy with every visit and each interaction. My parents bring their dog in when in town (if needed) and my mom loves them too! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants their fur babies treated well and cared for while in Kitty Hawk's care. This message is Indie approved.

I moved to Converse a little more than one month ago. My dog had a nasty cough, and I had seen this place while driving around town. I made an appointment and was blown away by the friendliness of the staff, from the ladies working the front desk to the vet himself. Unfortunately, it turns out my dog had cancer and started to deteriorate shortly after our first visit here.
I could tell he was hurting and had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye. The vet was able to honor my request of doing it outdoors, because that's where my dog loved to be. Today I received a card in the mail signed by all of the staff offering their condolences. I took my dog to several different vet clinics throughout his life, but Kitty Hawk was by far the best.
We were treated like family from beginning to end. I was very touched to receive the card today. Whenever I'm ready to get another dog, I will be bringing them here for all of their care. Thank you to all of the staff at Kitty Hawk. I wont ever forget this.

We had to put down our 12 year old retriever, Lady, unexpectedly due to failing health. Not only did they accept us as new patients immediately, their staff was absolutely compassionate and kind through the entire heartbreaking process. Lady passed peacefully and efficiently, which was a blessing. We are still grieving and miss her terribly everyday but are glad we could ease her suffering.
We are grateful Kitty Hawk could ease our suffering with such an effective process. We received a beautiful card signed by the entire staff a few weeks later which absolutely meant the world to us. Thank you Kitty Hawk.

From the time I called I had a good experience. I called several veterinarian offices for my kitten. None compared to this location. The kitten package is awesome! Most clinics only provide the first set of vaccines and don't do a check up. They provided a thorough exam and it's all included so no guessing what will be due each visit. Very happy we choose this location. Will continue to use their services.

Wish I could give this 5 stars but unfortunately I can't. I messaged about getting my dog in for a lump I had found and was in office in a couple days. Front office staff was great, friendly, welcoming and willing to be patient with my not so happy dog (very nervous). The techs were great with him and helped keep him as comfortable as possible. The doctor was short and seemed to be in a hurry to go through the exam with my dog.
Basically it seemed like the appointment was a bother to him. I was told my dog has a tumor and when the doctor was rapidly explaining what that was and the next potential steps (surgery, medical tests, etc.) a tech stepped in and said the walk in cat was not doing well and he said I have to go take care of that. I waited for a bit while the other tech wrote stuff into his chart.
The doctor never came back or asked if I had questions after telling me my dog has cancer.i was told a quote for the next steps would be available and emailed within 24hours. I hadn't received it and when I called to ask I was told that it was not completed yet and probably wouldn't be available till Monday afternoon as they only are open 8-1 saturdays.
Our appointment was Friday morning. The staff is friendly and patient and I cannot say enough good things! The doctor we saw didn't seem to care too much and left me with a terrifying diagnosis to treat another walk in and never bothered to come back. I get it emergencies happen but someone should have spoken further to me. And when I was told 24 hours for a quote to help my dog it was not done timely.
