I called the Henrietta Animal Hospital while in route because MY DOG WAS CHOKING. I was told that they were TOO BUSY and WILL NOT HELP MY CHOKING DOG. My fiance called back and another person confirmed it. If your dog is choking and going to die and they are busy THEY WILL LET YOUR DOG DIE! They promised to call me back the next day and no manager contacted me. Very cold hearted staff.

Took our dog in for a urinary problem and paid 610$for them to do tests and waited a week and had to call back to see what was going on they said test were still pending but had a uti.said they would call in a prescription and on Friday and never did.had to wait until Monday and they lied and said they wouldn't call one in I had to pick up.waited another couple weeks and still no test results until we called and kept leaving messages.said everything came back fine but we told them there was still blood in our dogs urin, they said they would call next day with another antibiotics and 2 days go bye and no call and I finally call again and they said they would not give the dog more antibiotics and they said they never told my husband they would.lied again.so my husband calls and they state we have to take dog to a specialist and get in a fight with him and hang up on him.don't take tour dog here nasty lying people!

The staff and vets were top notch. Very pleased with the diagnoses and they did immediate surgery. They followed up on a Sunday and made sure my pet was ok. Thank you.

The worst animal hospital that I have every been to. They cut my dogs nails and they look like a hack saw was taken to them. They tell you one price and then double the amount at the time of the visit. They don't care about your animal all they care about is the money. If you care about your pet I would not take them to the animal hospital

My cat was due for a rabies shot and to get her eye checked out, it was my first time there and they made the process very easy and non stressful

Went there years ago and to this day I can't believe a vet pushed me to get an adult dog totally vaccinated for unnecessary vaccines. Her overvaccination (just to make herself money) is probably why he had kidney and liver issues. TITER!

This is the worst example of a vet I have every seen. Nothing more than a money grab. Got a puppy and have had 3 visits and they want to do more tests and have written more prescriptions than my previous dog had in 12 years of life. Both visits were 800 dollars for puppy shots. I questioned the if last recommended prescription that they wanted to charge 150 dollars was available to get at a different pharmacy like Wegmans and the Dr said no you can't get it there.

The same meds were only 10 bucks at Wegmans. Then they wanted to charge 10 dollars to write the prescription. This place will scam you out of your money. The fact they require a credit card on file to make appointment should be your first red flag. I saw old reviews that said the same about this place being a terrible place to bring your animals but it is true.

This place is a scam and I wouldn't trust them to care for your animals. They will tell you that you need pet insurance your first visit. That is so they can over charge for everything. Go to any other vet and you can thank me later for saving you 3k your first first of pet ownership.

Overall experience was fine. Due to covid, they offer curb side service only. You hand your pet to them and they bring you a clipboard to sign the forms. It was my first experience, and I wished I could have spoken to the vet myself to establish that relationship. She was willing to come out and talk to me. I am sure post-pandemic it will be a much more welcoming experience. They took excellent care of my pup and were very helpful with my questions too! Covid safe and great service.

If I could give this place a negative score I would. This "vet" is so unprofessional, condescending, and honestly neglectful. All she wants is your money. We took our dog there for his annual wellness check which cost $300. She looked at him for 5 sec told us he was healthy and got blood from him in which we got no call about results. We told her to look at his ears because they were clearly infected and she said they were fine.

We went back two weeks later to get his second Lyme vaccine and not one employee mentioned that in order to come into the appointment with your animal that you had to bring your covid vaccine card and I didn't have it with me. They told me I couldn't come in. I made sure to tell the vet tech about the lazy wellness check the vet had done on my dog and demanded his ears be looked at throughly.

When he went in I got a call that his ears were indeed infected and that I was going to be charged for it even after she neglected them two weeks earlier. She then told me my dog had a food allergy and that he needed to be put on hypoallergenic food that they sell there in which I responded that he was already on that food! I was charged another FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for this bogus visit. This place is such a scam. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE.

I brought my dog here along time ago and switched vets immediately because the vet appeared to me not even to like animals but then my dog now had what they thought was deemed to have an emergency appointment regarding his teeth And they were able to get him that same day so I gave it another try. They drew labs and a heart worm test (I asked for the heartworm test) and agreed to have the labs drawn because he was going to need surgery on his teeth and they would need them anyways.

Well to find out they refer out for dental and can't fit him in until the end of August therefore the labs were not going to be able to be used for the procedure. Long story short I was able to get him into my regular vet the next week. Myself and my vet called several times to get the labs sent to them it's been 2 weeks now and no results sent not even for the heartworm test which they claim they don't send heartworm to the lab.

I asked if they could send me something stating he was negative and only sent me the invoice. I don't think they even drew the labs. Needless to say I had to pay for labs to be drawn again and my pup is having surgery next week. I was also sent home with antibiotics and pain medication for him until the surgery because he wasn't eating. Henrietta animal hospital still hasn't contacted me about the labs and did not even bother to ask if my dog was eating.

The vet spent 1 minute on the phone with me where as my regular vet spoke to me for 20 minutes and gave me tips on ways to get my dog to eat. Bottom line I believe I paid 250 for labs and heartworm test that wasn't complete. I would not recommend them to anyone ever!

We've gone to this vet quite a few times and the time before this they charged $50 to clip the nails of our small dog, saying he was difficult. The next time we took him to Petco and watched as he just stood there as the groomers clipped his nails without any problems. This last time after numerous emails and texts to schedule an appointment, we did.

On the day of the appointment we arrived on time and like the last time, when only one person was allowed in my wife went to the door. We were waved off and went to the car. The assistant came out with a pricing list of what they wanted to do and said that they no longer allow anyone inside. Just give them the charge card and they'll take the dog.

They seem to have mastered the reminders via email and text but don't seem to be able to articulate the new policy. If we had known beforehand we wouldn't have made the appointment. Now they're charging us $61 for appointment cancellation when in fact they're the ones who changed the procedure without telling us. Time to get a new vet.

My family and I brought our dog here for a checkup on her stomach. She was vomiting profusely over the week and wasn't okay. They ordered medicinal food for her because of allergies they believe she is having. Told us it would be in around Friday that week and we went in on a Tuesday. Said they would call when the food was in but unfortunately we didn't get a call.

Over a week later and we call, they gave the bag of food away to someone else. Never called us to tell us it was in. We paid $77 for this bag of HA made by Purina. For whatever reason these people don't have any costumer service skills.

I would not recommend this Michele Brownstein, EVER. After moving to the area, we brought our beloved dog here with an ear infection. He was seen 3 times in 6 weeks. He was taken in the back for "bloodwork" and returned without even a bandaid on his leg. I requested the results of said testing multiple times and was told "oh everything was good" but have never received the paperwork for it.

We were charged over $400 for these labs and honestly I'm not even sure he had ANY bloodwork. He was then prescribed a special diet for food allergies that she claimed were causing his ear infections. We were sent home with a $40 7 pound bag. He liked it and I called 3 days in a row and left messages and I also emailed with no response. The following week (3 business days later) we finally got a return call.

They didn't have anymore in stock and said they had to order. Since the food was nearly finished I asked what to do and was told to return to his old food that was causing all the problems until they could get it in! Did I mention that Pet smart and Chewy both carry this prescription food but she would not give us the prescription and allow us to purchase from anyone else even though she couldn't actually provide the food for him to eat for an additional week? Absolutely the worst experience ever and I'm thankful to have been referred to an amazing vet that provides superior care.

I cannot even begin to express how unhappy I am with the service this vet provided. She is clearly not concerned with treating animals or addressing pet owner's concerns. She is however very interested in prescribing over priced medications and special food for your pet so that she can survive off the mark up from these unnecessary products. I wanted to switch vets just because we had moved and it was not very convenient to continue with the same vet I have been using for years but after this experience I will be driving the two hour commute to continue seeing my old vet. I will also be researching how I can file a formal complaint with the better business bureau.

I would not bring my dog here again. Wish I could give a negative rating. My dog has special needs no function in her back legs due to IVDD. I called about boarding and if they could facilitate her needs. Specifically saying on the phone that her back legs have NO function. Was advised that the vet would determine with pre boarding exam. Paid a $6 setup fee over the phone.

Get to the appointment and off the bat the vet was very rude with no people skills. Got my dog in the room right away and I immediately said her back legs don't work so can they still board her. Dr Brownstein huffed angrily and said umm no way we cant board her this is way too much. Basically annoyed that I was wasting her time. I stated that I did ask when I called but she was very annoyed and frankly mean.

She didn't even give her any sort of exam as soon as her legs were brought up the appointment was over. Checking out they still charged me another $62 for a pre boarding exam which never happened. I again said I clearly told them on the phone that she cant walk and they could have told me then that they cant take her saving me $70. She also admitted said that she was sitting there when I called and heard the conversation so maybe additional questions could have been asked to determine then the cant take her.

They did not at any point tell ne the cost of the visit or that I was bound to lay the full cost regardless of the outcome, especially, since I said upfront multiple times she has these special needs. How can any decent company know full well that they cant board the dog but say the have to see her to determine then literally 5 mins into the appointment sat they can't but still charge me the full exam cost. I could have thrown the money out the window and it would have been better applied. Please save your money and don't go to this vet.

DO NOT GO HERE. There is no compassion for your pet. You will be paying an arm and leg for things that are not necessary. I only wish I saw these reviews before I gave them thousands of dollars. I was charged for a 1 day hospital stay when my dog was there for 45 minutes. I found the vet to only care about getting a lot of money from me. I wish there was an option to give zero stars.

Don't go here. Despite the vet being very experienced, she is WAY too expensive. Vaccines for life seemed like a scam in the end; especially since the vet bills didn't go down. I feel like I was robbed.

I only gave this one star because it wouldn't let me post with zero. I've been taking my dog to this Vet since I got him February of 2018. All of which are what I personally experienced and hope my review helps steer people away from this rude Doctor and her over priced services. Since I was a first time pet owner I thought the high prices for the appointments and medications were normal and tried not to take Dr. Brownstein's condescending tones personally.

She was in a position to know more than I did and took the information as educational. Like others Dr. Brownstein made it seem like the dog food she was selling was exceptionally healthy for my dog. After trying it out for a week my dog was sick and we had to work with Petco vets to figure out what food was best for him. She does follow through with the vaccines and medication your pet will need.

Be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for it. Dr. Brownstein does lack any ounce of a bedside manner and on the last visit has made it very clear to me she does not care if she looses a client over her attitude. I can only imagine how she treats our pets behind closed doors when the caretakers are not around. Please know there are other vets that charge significantly lower for services.

I was given a quote $700 for neutering my dog and another vet hospital charged me $135 for the surgery, medication, and cone. Word of advice to anyone seeking a veterinarian for their loving pet, do your research and search elsewhere. Your wallet and your sanity will thank you for it.

Unfortunately a poor experience here. I signed up for the $99 core vaccination+ plan but upon my first first visit had a $400+ bill. When I checked the prices at other vets for similar services this vet was higher- ie Brevecto $74.00 here- $54.00 on line or at other vets. It was not just about the expense, the experience was much more abrupt than other vets I've used, the rabies certificate was not signed, the dog was taken out of the room for basic services -ie shots, I was prescribed a product for my 5 month old dog that the manufacturer recommended for 6 months or older, questions were abruptly addressed.

Clearly this was not a fit for me or the vet and we terminated our relationship. She did refund part of the unused part of the $99.00 paid for the Healthy pet plan. I've had lots of experiences with vets where the relationship was more collaborative, educational and open. I was very disappointed in this experience.

I came here because the Free Shots for Life program seemed like such a great deal. I really wish I had researched and read these reviews first. Dr. Brownstein has a terrible "bedside manner". she doesn't even seem to like animals. I am in the hospitality business, so I expect to be cheerfully greeted and to have my pet also acknowledged ~ say Hello to my dog and give him/her an ear scratch!

She basically gave my dogs a quick once over, very clinically, tried to push extras (the food she sells, the brand of flea meds she sells, unneeded bloodwork, etc) and was just rude in general. I will say that her young staff seemed very nice and I feel sorry for them, having to be around her negative energy. Even though I already paid for the Free Shots for Life program, I'm going to take it as a loss, and find a kinder, more compassionate vet.

A little hesitant. I feel like I'm locked in because of free shots for life program but I'm on the edge of switching. I get that the vet industry doesn't make a lot, but when you keep on pushing products and things on people it doesn't want to make them go back to you. They are going to the vet to make sure their fur baby is healthy.

When I first got my cat she told me grain free is the way to go only. When I first got my cat she had worms, things happen. Then I brought her back for a check-up, and they kept on pushing their flea product. I bought the product and my cat ended up licking it and I had to give her a bath. When I brought her in for her yearly she is telling me no more grain free products.

And I told Dr. Brownstein that she recommended them to me for my cat and she goes I'd never do that. There is always some sort of miss communication, each time I call. There is no compassion with each time that I have visited from Dr. Brownstein, I feel bad for saying this because I'm a sucker for older people. Some of the techs are nice, but its hit or miss.

Sometimes when I've called I've had some people with a poo poo attitude. I called because I paid for bloodwork on my cat a month and a half ago, they never called me back. I'm ready at this point to change vets.

The vet tech Marie is the only reason they get a star. She is sweet and compassionate.the only shining star in this office. In regards to Dr Brownstein, she lacks bedside manner, patience, and empathy. Every other time we were there, she would push the pet food she sells in the office even though it had previously made my pet very ill (diarrhea). I signed up for free vaccines for life but would still get charged for the ones in this program.had to remind them every time.

We went there for 5 yrs and they still thought my female pet was a boy! Rochester is saturated with veterinarians.interview them like you would if you were searching for a pediatrician for your child. Advocate for your pet, be their voice.

This was the first vet I took my new dog too. He was a rescue and wasn't in the best condition when we got him. He had some hot spots, kennel cough, and fleas. The vet told us we shouldn't have adopted him and that we should bring him back and get a new dog. the point of a rescue dog is to take care of them and get them back to health. We went here a few times and every time I felt like she was looking to get us to buy something or get some treatment he didn't need done. I will say that the assistants were very nice and sweet with my dog. The vet on the other hand was very rough and just not friendly.

This vet has no compassion for animals at all. Only thing they are interested in is spending your money. Always telling you they need unnecessary tests, x-rays etc. After spending thousands of dollars here we were going to have our dogs teeth cleaned and they demanded payment upfront, really! All of their fee's are higher than other vets and if you don't do all tests that she says you need then you get "want your dog to die!", very unprofessional!

And her son could care less about your animal, has zero personality and also has no compassion too, This office is all about making money, period! P.S. Now she will be posting an aggressive response to my post.

I chose my 2 start rating for the techs and employees that were wonderful to work with and take pride in what they do. Dr Brownstein on the other hand needs some work. She recieved our dog after he was hit by a car. Boomer was diagnosed incorrectly in numerous ways. She told us his neck was broken, which was not the case. He actually has no broken bones whatsoever.

She had his age wrong by 8 years. We knew he was 4, not 12 and have the documentation to prove it. She diagnosed him with anal tumors, which he does not have and recommended euthanizasion. She was not only rude, but less than sympathetic and more interested in receiving money for the blood work she allegedly completed prior to releasing him for treatment at the Veterinary Specialists. Boomer ended up having a head trauma case with swelling.

He has since been treated and released within 9 days of being admitted. He is living life happily like our other two dogs and will recieve any future treatment at Companion Animal Hospital, our preferred Vet. I do not see this as a good environment to take animals that are ill.

I have to disclose that I knew Dr. Brownstein when we were elementary school students, and my father took his dog to her years ago as well. On the other hand, my father (almost 93 now) is one of the toughest, most critical people in Rochester so I figured she had to be a great vet. We have not been disappointed! Dr. Brownstein is extraordinarily compassionate and very restrained in suggesting intrusive treatments.

Our little rescue mutt has a tumor in her eye. We took her to three or four different vets when we lived in Manhattan and all but one (Dr. Tanya Goldberg, Eastside Veterinary -- the only vet we would go to in NYC ) wanted to put Pepper under and clean her teeth and take biopsies and start invasive treatment. Dr. Brownstein took a photo of Pepper's eye, consulted with a colleague, and concluded that treating Pepper's tumor would destroy her quality of life and said what she would do if it were her dog (the magic words in my mind).

Pepper is thriving, (except for a recent accident jumping down from a seat). Dr. Brown Brownstein thinks she may have torn her acl. Once again, her advice was conservative and compassionate and Pepper is resting comfortably and happily while her little knee mends itself. We are so relieved to have Dr. Brownstein taking care of Pepper. We wouldn't go to anyone else!

Her staff is great. Her fees are reasonable. We always get a convenient appointment, never wait too long when we get there. But most of all, she treats our dog the way she would her own, and we could not imagine better care!

Absolutely the worst vet I have every been to. Rushed appointment, barely 5 minutes total time for sick animal. Other vets take more time on a routine vaccination appointment. Charged more than majority of vets in area, and the vet was rude and impersonal. I will never go to a vet just because they are close by again. I was not only upset by horrible bedside manner, but was charged for services I did not receive. Would not bring my goldfish hear. Very disappointing experience.
