From Our Website
Among our excellent staff, we are proud to have a Board Certified practitioner, Dr. Julie Fixman, DVM, DABVP, as our Medical Director. Less than 1% of veterinarians in the US have attained this board certification, and we've found it to be a great benefit and comfort to our existing clients and new clients searching for a second opinion. We are a modern, full-service animal hospital serving the pets and pet owners of the Hudson Valley since 1984. Our team of doctors and staff are committed to providing the highest quality care, diagnosis, and treatment for dogs, cats, bunnies, ferrets, and pocket pets in a professional and pet-friendly setting.
Today, we are a state-of-the-art, four-doctor veterinary practice committed to providing our patients with the medical care they need to live a long, happy, and healthy life. We offer a full-range of wellness services, diagnostics, surgical procedures and treatments, and cat boarding options. Kathi Heiber and Cindy Kosacz founded South Putnam Animal Hospital in 1984 with the vision to provide the highest quality veterinary services for the special pets of the Hudson Valley. Their motto was "Bring us your problems, questions and concerns and we will provide you with solutions, answers, and understanding".
We know your time is valuable, so as much as possible, we want South Putnam Animal Hospital to be a one-stop-shop for all of your pet's needs. From examinations, vaccines, and other preventative care, to diagnostics, surgery, and boarding for kitties, our staff is here to guide you through every stage of your pet's life. If you ever have questions about the services we offer, please give us a call or send us an email. For specialty services that we may not provide on-site, we can recommend the highest-quality local facilities.
If our office is closed, call our normal phone # at 845.628.1834. You will be directed to our answering service, and advised which emergency location is closest to your home. We have several emergency clinics in our area that are prepared to handle a range of minor injuries and illnesses to life-threatening situations. If your pet is treated at an emergency clinic, the location will notify us that you were seen and we will receive all necessary information regarding your visit. Follow-up care will continue with us at South Putnam Animal Hospital.
