The front staff, vet tech, and Dr. Nina Katzenstein were so thorough, kind, and patient when treating my dog and answering my questions last night. They also sent me home with a detailed report for my dog's regular vet as well as a print out of his condition and pain medicine. Due to Covid restrictions, they are following a minimum-contact protocol.

A wait is to be expected as it is an emergency service, but they do everything in as much of a timely manner as possible to give the best service. I highly recommend this emergency vet establishment.

I don't give them any stars. I called 4 times to get an appointment with a cardiologist and it's was 6-8 weeks out. It was an emergency my baby had heart murmur 5 out 6 and congestion heart failure. I called today 05/29/2022 at 6:00am to get in him in and they could not again get him in. So I did take him in to a very caring emergency vets. The bottom line my baby passed away today!

If I could have gotten him 2 weeks ago possibly he would still with me. This is a second time with one of my babies they could not take in. My heart is broken and I will not refer anyone to the clinic. VP

Do not go here. I brought my dog in for an emergency. He was not seen by the vet for 30 minutes, and I was given no update as to when he would be seen. Just made to wait outside. They did call after nearly an hour, but I was calling other vets to try to get my dog the care he needed. Cost me $170 to get my dog out of there, so that was money well spent. Just wish I had searched harder before hand. If you want good care for your pet go to Columbia Pike Animal Hospital 4205 Evergreen Ln in Fairfax.

I took my sweet Bernard, 11 y/o Tabby, who had kidney failure, there in December for euthanasia. They promptly saw us and were so accommodating the whole time. I can't say enough good things about them. They allowed me to spend my last minutes with my boy and didn't rush me from prior to administering the meds to after as I was very emotional. I truly appreciate their compassion as it's a very difficult time.

When I noticed his health rapidly declining, I knew who to go as I took my other boy there a year or so prior, who is living a great happy & healthy life. Hopefully I'll never have to visit them again, but it's comforting to know I have such a great place to go to take care of my feline's needs. Thanks again to the vets & the staff.

Dr Franz- Thank you so much for taking care of our sweet puppy. I was amazed by you and your staff's communication, transparency and level of care for our golden that needed support care during a scary fight with Parvo.

Do NOT go to this hospital. They take advantage of their clients with their rates. They have hidden fees. They demand full payment of surgeries in advance. They lie about their fees, they charge a full bill as a deposit. If you happen to have a second procedure for your pet staying over night for medical issues, they charge additional fees (which are also the equivalent of a full surgical bill) as a deposit with even MORE additional fees.

We took our cat in for a urinary blockage, found kidney stones and we have paid a total of $6,500 and he's still at their clinic until tomorrow. That is appalling. Absolutely ridiculous. You cannot take advantage of clients that way.

Our dog had a leg injury and was in distress. He naturally got better but the staff was extremely compassionate as well as reliable considering it was past normal operating hours and even gave follow-up advice via email. Thx Rachel and team, great experience! Definitely will use/recommend going forward.

Had a great experience with the surgery department and the internal medicine. Drs are very attentive and professional they explain everything in details and answer all your questions no matter what. They answered my emails and my phone calls after surgery with care and handled the situation on point. Thank you for taking care of Nio

The staff and Vets here are great! My fur baby struggled with stomach issues for about a year and I took her to several vets and they would only treat the symptoms. The vets here finally determined she had Irritable bowl syndrome and gave me several treatment options from mild to more aggressive. We started her on meds which we've now tapered down and she's doing great. They are professional and caring. No vet is cheap especially when they have major issues but they were worth every penny for me! Highly recommend!

Edit: 4 days ago they commented saying they will get ahold of me directly to discuss. To no one's surprise, they have not. I will update if they do. I'm so upset. I brought my dog there. She literally can't walk from a suspected sprain to her hip. First, I waited 3 hours. That's fine, that's not why such the low rating but I figured I would warn people of that, though that seems to be the norm for everywhere.

They brought her in and said she was shy and that's why she was shaking. No, she's not shy. She's in pain. She has been shaking and panting at home as well because she hurts so bad. They told me she's not in any pain nor discomfort but tried to tell me she needed $350 X-rays. For what if she's not in pain? They brought her out (made her walk) and as soon as she got outside she fell to the ground and wouldn't get up.

I asked if they gave her any medicine because she can't even walk. They gave her nothing. They did give me pain meds at home but the tech told me "she doesn't need them". Now we are home, she's in excruciating pain, still won't walk, and now won't even go potty. I have to take her elsewhere. My toddler could have come up with a better diagnosis than this doctor.

Common sense does not seem to be a thing here. Trust me, I know my dog and I know she's not shaking because "she's scared and shy." She's the most energetic dog ever who loves everyone. Very disappointed I wasted $240. Do better. I do not want a response saying to call. You know Stella. She's in your system. If you want to make things right then you can call me.
