Regular screening can allow us to find diseases before symptoms are obvious. If we find a disease early, we have better success in treating the disease or may be able to slow the time until symptoms do show. Several of our staff doctors perform surgeries from routine to very complicated. Dr. Chris Glawe performs many of the orthopedic surgeries and more complicated soft tissue surgeries.
Dr. Chris Glawe have been certified as Diplomates by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners specializing in Canine and Feline Practice. The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners was established in 1978. It is one of twenty-one veterinary specialty groups accredited by a special committee of the American Board of Veterinary Specialties, a division of the American Veterinary Medical Association, to recognize excellence in clinical practice through the certification of species-oriented specialists.
Because they're worth it We are proud to have earned AAHA accreditation - an honor that fewer than 15% of veterinary hospitals nationwide achieve. In order to earn accreditation, an animal hospital must undergo routine inspection and testing on approximately 900 different facets of veterinary care - from patient care, to surgical procedures, to sanitation practices, and more. There is only one standard for each of these facets: excellence. And as passionate animal lovers, we believe nothing less will do.
Call our number first at 303-761-7063 to check for availability. If no one is available, we usually refer after hours emergencies to Central Veterinary Emergency Service at 303-874-7387. They are located at 3550 S. Jason St. in Englewood. We always provide a written estimate of the cost of operations or emergency procedures before treatment.

I'm so glad we found Dr. Lauria and Hampden Family Pet Hospital. From our initial visit with Dr. Lauria, she was incredibly friendly and determined to figure out why our German Shepherd was having so many gastrointestinal issues. After a few tests, she quickly figured it out and our girl has been in great shape ever since. It feels very reassuring to have found a veterinarian that we and our pets love.

My family has been taking all of our pets here since I was a little kid, so naturally I chose to take my boxer Forrest here. We just had to put him down this past Saturday, which was extremely difficult for my husband, daughter and I. The staff, especially Dr. Begin, were so supportive and great in helping us through that process and letting us take our time with him.

Over his 8 years they took such good care of all of his different types of needs and helped us figure out so many things! Great withs cheduling, rx's, questions and advice etc. As our hearts heal we hope to bring a new family member here again because we know that they will be well taken care of and loved as if they were their own.

Wow, these guys are amazing. Our dog Lilly is a Covid rescue and was always extremely scared at our last vet's office. She is a different dog here. The staff really go above and beyond. We were referred by 2 friends whose dogs had TPLO surgery with Dr. Glawe. He is extremely patient and spent more time with us than any human doctor has. Lilly is recovering well and it all thanks to the Dr. Glawe and the staff here. We live far from this office, but it is worth the drive. So happy to have found this place.

Dr. Nelson was wonderful! Unfortunately my 2 year old Cat Otis had to spend 24 hours in the hospital for monitoring and IV fluids for a fever. Dr. Nelson called daily with updates and gave different options for diagnostic testing. She was kind, considerate and sympathetic as it was so hard to see my cat go through this. Highly recommend! Otis is home now and doing so much better! Thank you Dr. Nelson!

Hampden Family Pet is the best vet in CO! I have had my dogs for 9 years now and let me tell you they weren't ever excited to go to the vet until we started going to Hampden. Dr. Emily Begin is extremely knowledgeable and just absolutely amazing. She is always available and just has such a pet friendly personality and it really does show through her work!

The team at Hampden is always so eager to help with scheduling, refills, etc. I could never imagine going to any other vet ever again. Hampden family pet has mine and my pets hearts thanks for being so good at what you do!

Recently had an appointment here with Dr Nelson. She was wonderful but unfortunately when my dog was having her blood drawn I could hear a staff member outside of the exam room badmouthing a client for how cheap they were and how she didn't care if their pet died because they didn't want to pay for an expensive test. I asked the girl who brought my dog back who who the staff member was by pointing to her, the girl told me that her name was Dr. Loria.

I asked if she always talks bad about clients and the girl politely gave me an affirmative head nod. Very unprofessional I thought for a doctor to act in such a way, especially where a customer could hear her. So I think I may consider another vet office. I hate to think what they might say where they cannot be overheard.

Watch out for Dr. Lauria. She is very rude and will treat you like you are stupid if you question her. She recommended we get a $500 dollar echo for our dog because she "heard a very faint heart murmur". This was not noticed by any of our previous vets and when we came back for a second opinion even their other vets disagreed with her diagnosis. Unfortunately it looks like she was just looking to increase the bill and her earnings.

All 3 of our pets are seen here and we've had great experiences so far. Dr. Laurie and dr. Riley are both great vets and take the extra time to make our very nervous dog more comfortable. You can tell they both truly care about the pets they treat. I'd highly recommend them to anyone in the area!

We sadly had to put my girlfriends family's dog down and I just have to say the entire staff and procedure here was outstanding. The vets and support team (including the receptionist that offered us hugs) have the bedside mannor of hospice nurses and truly care in a way I didn't really expect from people who see this stuff daily. My girlfriend was an absolute wreck and they made sure she could spend AS MUCH time as she needed with the doggo.

Though today was hard for all of us at least we found a place that made the experience as special as possible. I truly thank the whole staff for their care and if I ever have issues with my cat I'll be there in a hearbeat. Thank you
