Gulf Coast Veterinary Specs - Randy Longshore We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our patients, clients, and employees. The entire staff is extremely professional and the facilities are superior to what you may see at most human hospitals. If you find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of having a critically ill pet and are referred to GCVS, you can be assured that your beloved friend will get the best of care.

I just have to express my appreciation for GCVS once more. My sweet pup lost his battle to cancer, but the doctors, nurses and staff at GCVS supported us through the very end.

The prices are a bit outrageous, but it is an actual pet hospital. It seems like at every step they try to up charge you, for example if you go in for emergency pet eye surgery and they offer neutering your dog or something else. They bill the emergency and surgery separately, but not. The cost is absurd. I do not recommend this place if you do not have enough funds to burn.

My bill, paid in full was over $6k. They have a nice lounge area, and vending machines with food in them and it is open 24 hours, but too, too expensive. The reason for the 4 stars is, they really do have fabulous surgeons. They know what they are doing. The surgeons are very talented.

Only veterinary hospital available, completely taking advantage of people, and no rush for an ER! We took our beagle in labor and in need of an emergency C-section. There was no one else there. We waited 2 1/2 hours for them to run "diagnostic tests" for $1500 while at least one of my puppies died over their lackadaisical attitude. The veterinarian met with me and told me they would charge $4500-5500 in addition to what I had already paid and would already spay my show dog, even though I didn't want her spayed.

When I talked to the co-owner and we disagreed with the spay and offered other solutions, the veterinarian got very angry, raised her voice, and stormed out. Thank goodness my veterinarian called me and came in to do her C section so we could leave. It literally took them 30 minutes to "get her ready" to take her. Absolutely horrible service and care.

Clinical and support staff are attentive, and professional. Facilities and services provided are great. Unfortunately, the ER provider who took our case the morning we came, we felt lack empathy to our beloved pets case. During in room consultation, we felt that the provider Dr. Garcia did not give us enough time to understand and process all of the information that she provided to us, so we can formulate specific questions for our pets diagnosis and care. We felt that we were rushed so that provider can move on to the next patient/case.

I just love this vet so much. I adopted our beagle / basset hound from a rescue during Covid like so many others and unfortunately he was positive for heartworms. Dr. Hamilton and his staff were amazing at testing and treating and having such compassion - I felt like I knew them before I ever met them in person. Coming to their new offices with Gryff and seeing them in person has been a joy. Thank you all! We really love GCVS and all the doctors and techs and receptionists there.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. We took our injured Guinea pig here last night as it was our only option. My first impression of this place was great. And then we sat there for four hours without anyone speaking to us at all. And another hour after that before the doctor came out to talk to us. The doctor was completely pleasant until we expressed our concerns about what treatment she wanted to do and the cost.

Her attitude completely changed. The doctor kept insisting that we need to keep him on oxygen overnight. That we needed to take expensive X-rays to see if there was internal damage. She's telling us all of this while my poor Guinea pig was in the back, alone bleeding out of his nose. We didn't need the constant oxygen for him and we didn't need the expensive X-rays when it was evident that he had internal bleeding and wouldn't make it.

She didn't offer to help ease his pain by putting him to sleep. Her bedside manner was awful. This place doesn't want to help you or help your pet. They don't care about your pet either. They just want your money. STAY AWAY from this place!

This place is the absolute best especially for difficult cases. They have every specialist you can think of for your fur babies and deeply care about each one! Thank you Gulf Coast Vets for taking great care of me and all my babies! Mr Foo Foo needed hip surgery for dislocating and had an orthopedic specialist that is amazing! I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else!

Amazing facility, very professional. We were recommended to come from our vet in Louisiana. I called while on my way (2.5 hours) and the receptionist explained everything, when I arrived I was welcomed and treated so kindly and professionally. Dr. Rodriguez and the ER staff were so gentle with my Great Dane and excellent in finding what was wrong with him.

She was amazing in keeping me informed. When I was able to pick him up, she was not in the ER but found time to come talk to me and take a picture with my boy! She's truly caring about her patients, loves her job, and excellent at what she does!

My dog was referred here for possible IVDD to the neurology department. We were able to schedule an appointment with a specialist within a very reasonable amount of time. When we got there the place is large but very organized and clean. The tech did an amazing workup and the Neurologist was very confident with her diagnosis and options or testing she thought my dog needed.

I was very happy when I was asked what I was hoping as the outcome for my dog as I had realistic expectations. I was very pleased with the service and the competency of the doctor, tech and staff. Definitely recommend this place if you want answers for your pet.

I work at a different veterinary office. I brought my Flemish Giant rabbit, Nutmeg, here. She had been dealing with some heath issues that ended up being much more serious than expected. She had a fever of 107 and was head tilting the morning I got into work. We ran bloodwork and gave her subcutaneous fluids to lower her temperature at my vet's office, then a coworker and I headed to Gulf Coast.

Unfortunately she ended up crashing right when we arrived, but the staff was wonderful and kind. They performed CPR for a while on her. They brought me and my coworker into a room so I could cry (I couldn't detect a heartbeat and knew she was gone). The doctor that came in after was very kind as well. Thank you all for trying to save her. I miss her dearly, but it comforts me that you tried so hard to save her.

It's $197 for emergency care but they really are available 24/7 and from the receptionist who takes your call to the assistant who takes your pet, they help you feel like they genuinely care about your baby and want them to recover! My rabbit was having digestive issues and I stayed up with her all night til I brought her in- they provided pictures and detailed explanations of her care and listened to me explain her issues.

The next day the issue wasn't fixed so I brought her back and they even waived my emergency fee since the issue wasn't solved the first time around. I am hoping my baby recovers but until then, I would definitely bring her and any other pet I had back to this facility. It's clean, easy to find, and very friendly.
