  • Amazing place to take your pets

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ruth. My little Jesse is my best buddy. He has been treated and loved innumerable times by Dr. Ruth and her staff. He always gets the VIP treatment and I cannot thank Dr. Ruth and her staff enough for their care and professionalism. I also witnessed the same care with our new little kitty Bean. Dr. Ruth has so much knowledge and compassion, it’s simply just off the charts. I just love, love, love her and her expertise. Couldn’t give a more positive review.

We travelled to bring our Pyrenees here because of their specialty in dental work. From the moment we arrived we were comfortable with the loving attitude and care of our boy and us. They were great at keeping us updated and chose the treatment that was least invasive for our dog. We will go back if the need arises!

Sammy was diagnosed with enamel hypoplasia-affecting most of his teeth at only 7 months old. Dr saw him and did surgery the same day. What could have been a nasty problem was caught and treated early! Very happy with the service, and the staff were all outstanding!

From Our Website

We believe an annual physical examination by a skilled veterinarian is the most important thing you can do to keep your pet healthy, even if your pet is not due for vaccines or other types of preventive care. Thorough check-ups and appropriate preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems or detect problems before they become serious. Our goal is to give you the tools to keep your pet healthy and happy for the longest possible time. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: After a complete physical exam, we will tailor our recommendations for diagnostics ("tests") based on your pet's health and what will best serve you both.

Surveillance screening is a fancy way of describing doing lab tests when your pet isn't obviously sick. There are a few reasons why doing appropriate tests in a pet that seems healthy is a very good idea. First, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off color or a bit unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every 6 months as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. There are MANY diseases that are treatable or easily managed if they are caught early but which are much more serious if detected after your pet is sick.

Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's dental or surgical procedure, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. We are ALWAYS happy to discuss any specific concerns you might have about your pet and a recommended procedure. Today's modern anesthetics and monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past. Here at Grass Lake Animal Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem.

Here are some questions/answers that we are frequently asked. If you have additional questions that aren't covered here, please feel free to give us a call at (517)522-6789.

Grass Lake Animal Hospital is pleased to provide you with a variety of forms to simplify the process of caring for your pet, and reduce the amount of time you and your pet are in our waiting room.

For your convenience, please provide your driver's license number. This will alleviate future requests each time you pay by check. We also use it to positively identify you as your pet's owner, when discussing sensitive information by phone. The DEA also requires us to have this number for certain pet prescriptions. This information will be kept confidential. Please check the website for current coupons. Payment is due at the time of services. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and ATM or debit cards, and checks.
