Godspeed Animal Care Godspeed Mobile Veterinary Care, founded in 1995 as a housecall practice, was first housed in Dr. Pamela Dumont's home and then at the Toano Animal Clinic. Agape Animal Care was founded by Dr. Barley and Dr. Lee under the name Warhill Animal Clinic in a small building on Richmond Road. Eventually, they moved into the Tewning Road building that now comprises the heart of Godspeed Animal Care.

Interestingly, they were the first business to build on the Casey tract that was to become New Town. Small animal medicine and surgery were available, along with boarding and grooming, emphasizing excellent care and personal service.

I have mixed feelings about this review as part of my experience with this vet included putting my 12 year Lab to sleep in their chapel earlier this year, so it's hard for me to write this as I have to relive that. That said, the care, compassion and understanding they offered during those terrible last few days as I watched him deteriorate in front of my eyes, was second to none and I'll always remember and be thankful that my boy was so well cared for and went so peacefully.

I'm excited now to be getting a new pup in a few weeks and count myself lucky to have such an excellent veterinary clinic so close to home. I've already booked his first appt here. wholeheartedly recommend to anyone needing a new vet, this team is amazing.

Godspeed is an awesome veterinarian clinic with extremely knowledgeable and caring veterinarians and staff. Always willing to go the extra mile for your pet. I have had 2 dogs and 2 cats cared for there and couldn't be more satisfied. Highly recommended.

Our Dog is like our kid, therefore his health and care is very important. They made us and our dog feel very comfortable. Highly recommended!

Really loved the clean and open atmosphere. There were a lot of dogs heard barking and whining I believe because the Vet is in a separate building than boarding and grooming - which made for a pleasant visit. Loved how caring the doctors and staff were to my puppy.

Dr Cohen and Tyler took great care of our old girls (Kiwi) appointment this week. She wasn't feeling and they figured it out, really took the time to understand and help us. Dr. Cohen has been great and consistent since we started to bring our 2 dogs to Godspeed, back in March. Thank you.

Everyone is wonderful! Godspeed Animal Care is the vet I use for my dog and St. Francis Pet Resort is who I use for boarding. My dog loves to come to the vet and boarding with them. They are all professional staff who care about the animals and their human clients. While pricing might be slightly higher that some other places, you certainly get the investment in knowledgeable and professional staff. Their response to COVID-19 has been great too!

We've taken our dogs here for routine visits for the past 3.5 years and have always been pleased with the service and care we/they receive. Recently, we had to bring our dog in for stitches removal after an emergency surgery that took place at another vet (out of Godspeed's hours). Dr. Marr took the stitches out and expressed her concerns/helped us come up with a plan for healing since the wound didn't look great at first.

She was SO helpful to us in the healing process of our dog's tail and the office called us in between appointments to check with how our dog was healing. This meant a lot to us as we were worried about the healing and we appreciated their care for our dog specifically. Definitely recommend and can tell they love our dogs and are always kind and sweet to them.

I brought my baby cat Riley in today to be seen for what I thought was an infection in his eye. He's basically my child so of course I'm freaking out and sobbing calling every vet in my area (I'm in Newport News) hoping I can bring him in right away. After being turned down by multiple vet offices and emergency clinics my boyfriend called Godspeed and we immediately knew we'd be taking our kitty there.

The two ladies at the front (I'm bad with names but I believe one was named Kim and the other lady I talked to said she had been with the company for 15+ years) were both so kind and welcoming. They told me they'd fit my baby boy in and to bring him in immediately. All of the staff that I interacted with were very kind as well. I waited for less than 5 minutes for someone to take Riley back.

The doctor called me after seeing Riley and explained everything that was going on. He didn't make me feel rushed for asking him questions and made sure I was reassured that my baby was in good hands. I won't take my cat anywhere else after the wonderful experience I had with their whole team. I will be recommending them to every pet parent I know!

Hands down the best place for boarding and playcare in Williamsburg.if you can get in. Purchased one daycare package and found much of the time I wanted to use it, they were "full." It's not a drop off place.you have to plan far in advance. Because they are undependable in this manner, had to find somewhere else to use for playcare and boarding. Really disappointing because St. Francis truly is the nicest facility, friendliest staff, and best clientele for boarding and playcare. Now.if St. Francis gets 5-stars.the "Veterinarian" side (Godspeed) gets 1-star for unapologetic incompetence. "Doctor" is a graduate of a for-profit Caribbean vet school.

In a routine check-up said my dog's teeth needed cleaning but they needed to run bloodwork first. Lab came back with elevated liver values. Immediately the vet suggests a bunch of very expensive testing. I passed, said let's wait a couple days, and re-test. This occurs and I get a call that the liver values are >40-times what they should be! The vet immediately jumps to extreme diagnoses, through process of elimination decides that he must have some kind of tumor, referred me to an out-of-town specialist, and had me thinking that my dog in acute liver failure may even have to be put down!

I told the vet her assessment made absolutely no sense (my dog is perfectly healthy) and I was already planning to get a second opinion elsewhere (more cost) when the vet called me back a few hours later. "Oops.the vet tech used the wrong blood vial.the bloodwork is perfectly normal." Oh okay.that's all.after all that angst and upset the vet never questioned the nonsensical lab values but rather acted upon them!

At least she didn't charge for all the bogus labs. My initial and ongoing impression is I found her bedside manner to be condescending. And after all this time and expense.two month's later my dog's teeth (the original reason for lab testing) still need cleaned, which I guess I'll have to get done somewhere else since Godspeed is far more focused on running lab tests than doing procedures. I wouldn't trust Godspeed for anything more than routine vaccinations. Really too bad because it would be far better for us if they were "excellent."
