Services
The Forest Hills Cat Hospital was founded in 1974 by Dr. Jay Luger. In the mid 1970's the idea of a cat's only hospital was revolutionary because small animal practices were primarily dog-centric. During that period there were less than a handful of feline only practices. Nowadays there are more than 200 feline only practices in the US.
The Feline Inn was founded in 1998 to offer boarding services for both clients and non clients on an appointment only basis. Our boarding facility features a quiet area, with music and roomy double cages for your cat's comfort. The cages also have shelves that serve as a perch for your cat. The Feline Inn is attended to by our licensed veterinary technicians who lovingly scrutinize your cat's behavior to help insure that all is well during your cat's stay.Cats that are social and friendly are allowed out of their cages during the day to give them an opportunity to exercise.
The Forest Hills Cat Hospital is NOT a 24 hour facility. We are open Monday and Wednesday till 8 pm and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday till 6 pm. Every Saturday and two Sundays a month we are open until about 1:30 pm. Om Saturday and Sunday nights a doctor usually comes in to check on the hospitalized cats.
We at the Cat Hospital believe that all cats deserve a caring home. Often we are asked if we could house unwanted cats. We understand that life can throw curve balls, and that sometimes these curve balls hamper your ability to take care of your pet. Unfortunately, the Cat Hospital is not a shelter and does not have the resources to provide shelter and search for homes for unwanted cats. We will however do everything in our power to help you find a home for your unwanted pet, short of taking ownership.

They are so nice and reassuring! Especially as a first time cat owner! I am currently boarding my cat with them. I was nervous to leave him for the first time with people other than family. But they assured me that I can call every day to check in on him. Freddie has been going here since he was a few months old. He is now a year and a half.

We had to make an appointment for Jonah asap because he was vomiting. Thankfully you were able to accommodate us! It's always a pleasure to see how seamlessly Dr. Tuzio and all of you step up to help your clients. Thank you again.

Everyone at Forest Hills Cat Hospital is so wonderful, and they are dedicated to helping my cat and making sure he has the easiest visit and is as healthy as he can be, even in these difficult COVID times. They really care about each cat they see, and they make a plan without pushing for treatments that aren't needed. Dr. Nanton is wonderful and has a great bedside manner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has a cat in their life, for regular check-ups or a specific issue.

Busy but for good reason. Always a good experience and feel like my cats are well taken care of. At the time of my visit on 5/20 vet visits are happening in person.

My cats and I have been coming here practically since Dr. Jay Luger opened the doors in the mid-1970s. I have found the care to be careful, thoughtful and thorough. When answer to a pressing problem was not there, an appropriate referral was given and thankfully, successful. During the pandemic, care was as careful and accommodating as possible given the restrictions. Everyone from vets to vet techs do their best. Thank Heaven for a cats-only veterinary hospital!

DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT take your cat here. Not only they will charge you ridiculous amount of money for unnecessary services, but they will mistreat your cat. My cat came back super aggressive, a way he's never been ever before, also came back more sick than before. If you love your cat, take them to PROFESSIONALS! No this thief's.

My cat had an emergency and was taken in quickly and evaluated. She stayed overnight and received good care. The doctor called me several times to keep me updated and called after I took my cat home to see how she was doing. The sound of her voice over the phone could have been clearer and I sometimes had to ask her to repeat what she said. Overall I am happy with their care and concern for my cat and continue to go back for follow up care.

I called several times before my kitten Axel's neutering on 11/23/21 because the phone was busy and I couldn't get all my questioned answer when I scheduled the appointment which Melina gave me within 2 weeks. I felt bad for Melina beccause you can hear the phone ringing in the background and she had to pick it up. She was so kind, professional, attentive and compassion for your cat including nurse Teresa and the Dr. that performed the surgery.

The only suggestion I would give is if there's any forms that needs to be filled should be sent before via email and instructions for the surgery like no food from midnight which is important. I will definitely recommend this hospital for a cat lover and parents. Thank you

Dr. Lugar has been my cats doctor for many years. He is a very kind, compassionate doctor that i trust. The prices are also reasonable. They explain any recommended tests, so that I can make an informed decision regarding my cats medical care. He listens to all of my concerns.
