Dominion Animal Hospital

Very happy with Dominion for 22 years now. Mom and pop operation. They are the cat's meow! They have taken good care of our 3 cats, one now deceased. Staff are fantastic. Love the front office folks. Big cat and dog mural on the side of their building. Free parking on street and a parking lot. Be sure to have your animal secured, common area (with seating) at front desk with cats and dogs mixed. We always get an appointment first before visiting.

I couldn't say a single negative thing about my experiences here. I'm sure a vet has a lot to deal with but I always get enough time with my doctor and feel like they are just as invested in the health of my pet as I am. I've tried a couple vets in the area, please just use Dominion, you wint regret it.

They are competent and generally compassionate with the animals, but have an extortionate policy of hitting you with a $100 fee for same-day care. So if your dog is in acute pain, as ours was, you can either wait for an extra day or 2 or 3 or more to get help from them or accept this hefty extra fee. It is irrelevant that they tell you up front about this charge - it is the equivalent of a robber announcing their intent to rob you. Um, thanks for letting me know you're planning to exploit my dog's suffering?

I took my cat here for the first time today I had been seeing a different vet for a bit. Everyone was so kind and sweet. The doctor was so nice and answered all of my questions. The biggest plus was how comfortable my cat was and how comfortable they made him. Highly recommend and look forward to future visits.

My dog was vomiting for 3 days and my regular vet couldn't see him. With the help of Emily at the front desk, Dominion made time for us. They performed every test and communicated throughout the process. Dominion is now my go-to veterinary practice.

Dr Short and her assistant were so knowledgeable, caring and compassionate when I brought my elderly dog in for a visit. Could not have asked for better care. I would highly recommend Dominion Animal Hospital. Office staff is friendly and efficient too!

We switched vets in 2018 and I wish we would have done it sooner. The staff at DAH have always been terrific to work with. The front desk, vet techs and veterinarians are always kind, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. We're very happy our dogs have such good care right in our neighborhood.

My family and I have been taking our pets to Dominion Animal Hospital for over 30 years. While the staff has changed, the compassionate and quality care has remained great. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants thorough care for their fur babies.

Despite the COVID limitations, Dominion Animal Hospital made our first vet visit an absolute breeze. I felt comfortable after Dr. Wehle and the staff explained everything in detail over the phone. My pup was happy too!

Dr. Boone took his time explaining every aspect of our dog’s health. He was thorough in his examination and taking necessary tests. He called the day after our visit to review the test results and next step. My husband and I feel Dr. Boone really listened to our concerns and addressed them directly. Dr. Boone is personable and able to relate comfortably with us. He left us feeling we were important and that he genuinely cared about our dogs health.

Great friendly environment for your pets and the people that come in the door. My first visit there my pet had gotten nervous and urinated on the floor and I think I was in more of a panic than the reception was because they handled it with such ease and quickly. So this is a very good hospital for your pets

I’ve been going to Dominion Animal Hospital (DAH) for years, even decades, for the care of my children—my cats!! All of the doctors have always been kind, caring, and very knowledgeable!! A special shoutout to Barbara at the front desk!! She has always been extremely helpful over the years, answering any questions I had about charges and billings, as well as anything else!! Also, another special shoutout to Vanessa, the kennel manager.

Whenever I go out of town, I board my 3 children/cats at DAH, and I never worry while I’m gone, because I know Vanessa will take excellent, loving care of them until I return!! There are many very good animal hospitals nearby to choose from, but my 1st choice has been and always will be DAH!!

We enjoyed our first visit and felt the love and affection of animals as soon as we walked in. Lazy was very nervous, being his first visit, but Dr. Bourke and his team (Dawn) definitely made him feel more comfortable. Look forward to the continued relationship!

Everyone at Domimion was wonderful. The front desk staff was prompt, organized and extremely friendly. The techs were caring and helpful. Dr Whele was extremely understanding and very professional. I would highly recommend them.

We have been clients for 47 years with both dogs and cats as patients. To say that In all that time we have been more than satisfied with the doctors and all the staff is an understatement. They truly treat all the pets as if they were there own and the owners as if they are family.

These veterinarians and their staff are the best. Even when thing have gone wrong they are there holding you up, crying along with you. They are gentle, kind and understanding. There are no words to describe how helpful they have been to me and all my four legged family. Don't change. Stay wonderful.

Dominion Animal Hospital took wonderful care of our shih tzu, Mickey, for over 13 years. The staff always provided wonderful care for him and greeted him like family every time he'd come in for an appointment. On Mickey's final day, they treated him and our family with such care and compassion. Our town of Herndon is very fortunate to have them as part of our community.
