Made an appt for my dog and they lost her records in less than a week. Pine Banks got my injured dog in within a day. They has no appts for 3 weeks? Animal hospital asked me to turf my dog to an emergency vet when it wasn't needed. Pine banks will get my vote! Don't waste your time. The office staff is clueless. BTW. Animal hospital is misleading. A hospital is emergent needs and a 3 week wait. my dog would have gotten worse. Not impressed.

Extremely convoluted massive waste of time, energy, and money. Called in April to make a spay appointment and each appointment including the prespay appointment it requires me to call and wait several days for them to get back to me. Sometimes they never do and I have to call multiple times. Now in mid-June they say they don't do spays anymore after 2 months, 2 trips to the vet, $130, and ~10 phone calls.

I went in to get a second dose of the Lepto vaccine for my dog and I was told it was too late for the second dose. Malden Animal Hospital made the appointment themselves! What a way to make money! I was told by the technician I wouldn't have to pay for the visits, then a manager came out and told me I did have to pay for the appointments. Well they just lost a client whose given them a lot of business. If you do choose this hospital re-check and re-verify your own dates!

My experience here has not been good and I wasn't even able to see a vet. First, I call to make an appointment for my new puppy and was told I couldn't make an appointment until I sent in his medical records by email. I did this and then never heard anything back, I had to call them again even though I was told someone would contact me after emailing them.

I was finally able to make an appointment, showed up to the appointment to be told that it's not in the system. I left work early in order to make the appointment and then told "oh we're sorry it was a new person". I would be okay with that except they rescheduled me and within the hour called me back saying actually we have to reschedule you again. My experience has only led me to believe that they are not professional and to look elsewhere for my puppy.

I took my moms cat to the cat clinic, he was very old and the vet treated him with such kindness and treated us with great respect. I will always recommend this place.

The doctors were awesome. I fully trusted them in taking good care of my cat. the only gripe is very congested parking area other than that it's all 5 stars for them. Too bad I moved further away from these fine folks

They were ready to treat my pet after an attack, but they were not equipped and my dog's wounds weren't as bad as they could have been I guess they don't have enough staffing and equipment.so if there is any way to donate and help please do.

I started taking my cat Holly once I moved to the area. The staff was very kind and Dr. Ziegra was great, he is very experienced and helped manage her disease, that she had had for 5 years before coming here. Once she started a decline from her disease (she was 14 years old) and got very sick early during the COVID pandemic, he helped me with treatments, even gave me his phone number to answer any question and checked on her status. That was so kind! The other doctors were also seen occasionally and they were also kind and explained the options I had for Holly in a manner that was respectful and clear, even when the option was a difficult one... Thank you, Malden Animal Hospital staff, doctors, and Dr Ziegra in particular, for taking such good care of my Holly. I definitely recommend this clinic.

We've been bringing our dogs and cats here for 15 years. Until the last year or so, I would have given them 5+ stars. Drs. Hamburg and Ziegra have always been absolutely wonderful, they take time to explain in great detail any procedure or illness that we've dealt with, they think outside the box, work within your budget, and I truly feel like our pets' lives have been enhanced by their care. However.

The past year or so, I have noticed that the newer staff and vets they have hired have not had the same level of attention or care. I have been treated rudely on several occasions by one of their vets - in one instance, they made a mistake in their records by confusing our 2 dogs (same breed, but different ages and different health concerns). When I tried to correct her, I was snapped at and she basically tried to argue with me over which dog they saw, despite the fact that the receptionist had already acknowledged that the mistake was on their end.

I attempted to schedule a nail trim for our VERY nervous dog, and she suggested that it may be better to just not trim his nails if he was going to need to be sedated for it, which contradicts all veterinary advice I've ever heard, and I felt like she just didn't want to be bothered working with a difficult dog. She grudgingly offered a different combination of sedatives, but her attitude was very off-putting.

In another instance, we brought our dog in because he had been limping and we noted that he had a corn, but we were unsure if the corn was causing the limp or if something more serious was going on. One of the newer vets saw him and did not even look at the corn, she immediately said it was either a cruciate tear in his knee or osteosarcoma (bone cancer).

We were devastated and immediately scheduled a follow-up visit to xray his knee the next day. We saw a different but also new vet, who manipulated his knee and looked at the corn.and immediately said his knee was fine and it was clearly either the corn or a broken toe. Of course, we asked why on earth the first vet didn't look at the corn, and why she would have thought it was his knee, and the 2nd vet just shrugged and said it may have presented differently the first day.

That's understandable, but we lost all confidence in the practice after that due to her abrupt and dismissive attitude and her lack of willingness to even look at his foot, even after we told her that he had an active corn. We're sad to leave after being clients for so long, but I feel like they are forcing our hand.

Incredibly professional, caring, and knowledgable staff. Having had pets my whole life, I am continually impressed by the care they provide our little chaos panther (cat). The business has the physical charm of a small-town vet, but the care staff I would expect from the most cutting-edge facility. After having used their services for >3 years, I can not recommend them highly enough.

The Doctors and staff have been very caring and helpful with Bandit and Velvet. They are both 16 yrs of age and are now experiencing health problems. I appreciate their patience and compassion in working with us for the best plan of action. Many thanks from all of us.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness This was my go to vet for over 30 years. We would board out dogs there, always satisfied. The last two times I had to deal with them, whomever answered the phone wouldn't 'hear' what I was saying. Very frustrated. Tried one more time, and my call was handled very unprofessionally. Had to finally leave.

Service was AMAZING! I brought my boyfriends dog for a quick check up. The front desk staff made everything super easy and even got Lucky to feel more comfortable about going inside alone! Much gratitude, Amelia

They truly care about the animals first and foremost. They're also flexible, good with follow-up, and great with communication. Really down to earth. Importantly they're not shady: they don't suggest useless imaging to inflate fees; they don't insist that you buy everything from them; they were happy to write a just in case prescription rather than insisting on visits every time for a chronic but occasional issue.

The best animal hospital vet ever. Professional and caring staff who take the time to communicate do you can understand what is happening and why. They saved my cats life and I will forever be grateful.

We've been using Malden Animal Hospital for our cat and dog for more than five years and have been very happy with them. They seem to have three veterinarians on staff, and I've had at least one visit with each of them, and they are all quite knowledgeable, patient and friendly. An important thing to know about this veterinary hospital is that they are not an emergency clinic, so if you have an urgent need during business hours, they can likely fit you win, but after hours you need to go to an emergency hospital or wait until the next day. They are very transparent about this and help when they can, but they are not open 24/7.

Also something to note is that the parking isn't great. They have a driveway and if you choose to park in there you will likely get boxed in. I usually park on the street because I won't get stuck there but it is hard and dangerous bringing two pets in from the car on the street.

We turned to Malden Animal Hospital when we needed to arrange a move to the UK for our dog, and our current clinic didn't offer the USDA certification any longer. Dr. Ziegra handled the paperwork when we went for each visit leading up to her departure and he was so thorough making sure everything was in order so she wouldn't encounter any issues going through customs. Transporting our dog was the most stressful part of our move and we really appreciate everything Malden Animal Hospital did to make her move run smoothly. Our dog also really enjoyed meeting the office cat, Charlie!

Went there for the first time with my little old beagle Lily on 11/26. We saw Dr Pino. Lily's a fussy one, and staff were great with her. She's really reactive to pain and discomfort, and they were still calm and gentle with her, even after she kind of head butted one of the nurses (sorry!) I'm glad we found a new place to go!

My boyfriend and I own two dogs. We recently moved to Malden and one of our dogs is a rescue from GDRNE that has been with us for only a month when we visited Malden Animal Hospital. (GDRNE is great, btw)
We were looking for a new vet for both of them, as their last exams were with the rescue (for the adopted dog) and in another state (for our old dog). We first visited VCA in Everett, but we weren't very happy with how that went. Malden Animal Hospital is walking distance from Malden Center, which is already very convenient. We waited very little (enough to fill up the paperwork) and there was no confusion over our appointment. Both dogs were brought in for the exam together, which was really nice as they're generally calmer when they're near each other. A vet tech admitted us first, asked general info, checked paperwork and also gave all relevant info (big plus). The dogs were examined by Dr. Scott Hamberg. He expertly handled both dogs-a 9 yo shy Great Dane and a 6 mo energetic mutt (who didn't even realize he was being examined). He explained everything he was doing, along with providing explanations for all the testing options and all the preventive treatments available, which was really great. He suggested a few specific things for both dogs that was not addressed at VCA at all (dry snout, allergies, etc). They also threw in a few freebie treatments, which saved us money, and that's always good. For me, the best part of our visit was that they've let us train our younger dog on how to approach unknown dogs with the vet tech's dog who was lounging in their back office. This is something we have been working on since we adopted him and an even tempered, calm dog like the one they had there was perfect for it. The techs in attendance AND the people at the front desk were incredibly nice-I wish I had kept their names for this review, but I am hoping the honorable mention will do for now. All in all, Malden Animal Hospital was a very pleasant experience, for both our dogs and us. Personnel seems very skilled and experience and they communicate all details to the pet owners, which is incredibly important. I highly recommend them for any dog owners in the area.
