Desert Animal Wellness Center Since the age of 4, I realized I was meant to be in the healing profession. It wasn't until age 9 when I was finally able to get a dog that I knew I wanted to to pursue veterinary medicine. Showing horses and being in 4-H with horses until age 18 solidified that desire. I worked tirelessly, got mostly straight A's thru high school and college, volunteered at various local animal clinics - mainly as a clinic janitor and pooper scooper - attended Ohio State University for pre-vet courses, then finally made it into vet school.

Homeopathy is the branch of medicine which is based on the principle that disease can be cured by strengthening the body's natural defense mechanism. This is in contrast to traditional (allopathic) medicine which uses drugs to suppress symptoms. Symptoms are the visible result of the body's attempt to heal itself and should not be suppressed or covered up.
Myth: The theoretical foundations of homeopathy are inconsistent with established science. Fact: Increasingly the theoretical foundations of homeopathy are being confirmed in major research centers around the world. Fact: The latest systematic review, performed by an outspoken skeptic of homeopathy, had to look at literature from sixteen countries over 32 years to find 1159 adverse events in people.
This is a remedy prepared by diluting and succussing (shaking while hitting on a firm surface) aqueous arsenic trioxide to either an X (1:10) dilution, C (1:100) dilution or M (1:1000) dilution. Samuel Hahnemann - the original "founder" of homeopathy, in addition to being a practicing physician, was also a chemist in the 1700's.
Conventional or allopathic medicine focuses on covering up usually just one symptom or disease label at a time. Homeopathy focuses on every aspect of the individual - physical, mental and emotional symptoms, behavioral issues and characteristics. It works towards curing the whole person or animal - analogous to melting an iceberg, rather than just chopping of parts of the iceberg.
