Integrative veterinary medicine is a comprehensive medical approach to pet care that combines the best of conventional medicine and complementary and alternative therapies. These modalities focus on maintaining health and wellness in the body instead of treating symptoms that occur from feeding our pets a poor diet and exposing them to unnecessary chemicals leading to imbalance and illness. We prevent illness by promoting health and wellness in our pets instead of focusing on making symptoms go away temporarily.
Acupuncture can relieve muscle spasms, increase blood circulation, stimulate nerves, and help release natural pain control hormones and other helpful chemicals produced naturally by the body. Although acupuncture traditionally uses needles, sometimes, electricity, heat, massage, or lasers are also used to stimulate acupuncture points.
Just as in humans, our pet's dental health is an important part of living a long and healthy life. Without proper dental care, plaque and tartar buildup can lead to periodontal disease. Periodontitis causes red, swollen and tender gums, gum recession, bleeding, pain and bad breath. The infection caused by periodontal disease can also enter the bloodstream, and potentially affect the heart, liver and kidneys.
Plants provide a wide variety of remedies for a range of ailments. Many modern drugs, such as aspirin, are derived from plants, but these drugs go through chemical processing that is thought by some to diminish the plant's original healing power. Chinese herbal formulas are often prescribed in conjunction with specific acupuncture therapies to work synergistically to heal your pet. Your veterinarian may prescribe a variety of Chinese or Western herbs that work together to treat your pet's problem(s).

I've been meaning to write a review for the longest time, but my feelings of gratitude are so deep that it is actually emotionally hard to express my thoughts. But I'll try. I brought my 11 year-old dog, Roxie Heart, to Creature Comfort in January 2020. She had a mass growing in her abdomen and we took her at midnight to VCA emergency- and we were told that night to put Roxie Heart down- "tonight- it's cancer, strongly suggest put her to sleep tonight." We thankfully had the presence of mind to decline - despite the shock- and the next day begged to be seen at Creature Comfort for a second opinion.

We came in so late- it was 6 pm and a rainy day- but they very nicely MOVED THEIR SCHEDULE (!) around and saw us. True enough: the prognosis wasn't good, but they referred us to Sage, they gave us words of encouragement - THEY WERE KIND. They gave us Chinese herbs to help contain the bleed, and Roxie made it a couple of days until surgery (kind of important!)- and Sage was able to do an amazing job. (She had a tumor the size of a cantaloupe and her spleen had to be removed- A whole other story!) Roxie went on the road to recovery and got back to her healthy self.

A few months later- Roxie became diabetic, where she required insulin shots and a special diet. Dr. Williams and Dr. Johnson were the two vets we saw most often- they were wonderful. We were given recipes, prescribed holistic supplements, Freestyle Libre to monitor her glucose, eye drops to help with her cataracts. They communicated with me, heard me out, listened to my concerns, comforted me when I was worried.

They were engaged so deeply in Roxie's care- I mean, truly, everyone in the practice cared and was responsive. This was so important to me- phone accessibility! They answer the phone and TALK to you: for example, Roxie the Diabetic Naughty Mutt got into my backpack and ate a lollipop one day. Panicked, I called and they walked me through- "did she eat the wrapper, was it sugar free (fake sugar can be deadly), did she eat the stick?" In that moment I realized just how lucky we were to have Creature Comfort- frankly, no other vet I know would have taken the time to do that- they didn't even charge me for a consult, and essentially calmed me down. Roxie thrived and gave us 2 more beautiful years post-surgery, driven by the care and follow up of the doctors at Creature Comfort. Dr. Williams holds a dear and special place in our hearts because she truly took Roxie's care to heart- Roxie got pneumonia in November 2021- the care she received from Dr. Kirsten Williams was phenomenal.

Being 11- the pneumonia could have been fatal for Roxie- but we had Thanksgiving, Christmas and she got to turn 13. Unfortunately - in January 2022- our dear Roxie's liver had gotten riddled with cancer. It was going to be time to let go- but just as she received love and care in life, Dr. Kirsten Williams and Creature Comfort were also going to make sure she received the care she deserved as she got her angel wings. Dr. Kirsten made room in her busy week- we live kinda far away- but she drove to our home. our dear Roxie went in the most beautiful way possible.

Her trusted vet was there in life and in her passing. We hugged her, loved on her - when she passed, it was Dr. Kirsten's kind voice that we heard. and it helped ease our pain. It was Dr. Kirsten took her. wrapped in her blanket. We knew she was cared for, even in death, treated with love and respect. After Roxie passed, Creature Comfort sent us flowers, and later, a very touching card with kind words from everyone in the office.

We picked up Roxie's ashes from the clinic a couple of weeks ago- and I'm just so thankful for the last 2 years that were a gift past that night 2 years ago. So, am I able to quantify my gratitude with 5 stars? It's not possible, as Creature Comfort deserves a milllion, a billion stars! They are a true asset to their profession. Thank you and Please keep doing the good work that you do. And to Dr. Jenny, thank you for creating a safe haven for animals and those of us who love them.

My dog Burdock can be super reluctant to go with technicians when we have to go to the vet. I knew this was the place for us as soon as they offered to carry him in instead of dragging him like the last place we went! Wow, how horrible! These folks at Creature comforts definitely live up to their name! Not only did they have a very thorough and thoughtful approach to getting to know him, the doctor spent quite a bit of time talking through solutions with he and EMPOWERED ME to be a better dog mom! That means the world to me! Thank you so much for showing me how trustworthy you are!

Creature Comfort went absolutely above and beyond getting my kitty with her UTI into their schedule today. They were really compassionate and worked around my tight financial situation, offering ways that I could take on care at home that they would have charged for at the veterinary hospital. I can't express just how much this means to me during these challenging times!

My kitty came back to me less phased then she has when she's visited other vets in the past, and I do feel that this was due to their efficient and gentle care. I'm so grateful for their clinic!

Muffin is completely satisfied. We just had our first visit, and she had an extra loud rumble in her purr the day after. I could hear her purring louder than ever, seriously. Did you guys also tighten a couple of screws in her purr box. Thank you for holding up to your name, "Creature Comfort", really took care of my kitties first visit. Thank you.

My sister is someone that is considered an authority on all things Dog. She insisted that I take my new dog, Luna to Creature Comfort for all of her Veterinary needs. Luna is an "unofficial rescue" as she was given to me by someone on their way to drop her off at the pound. I needed to have her checked out and titer testing done. We didn't have a way to know if she had been vaccinated yet. Dr. Williams did not disappoint as my sister had really talked this clinic up.

My sister only accepts the very best for her dog so I definitely felt safe choosing this practice. They were great and extremely thorough with Luna's exam. Rather than vaccinating again like traditional Vets tend to do they did titer testing. I am so glad they did because they determined that Luna had already been vaccinated. They explained in great detail what we should be feeding her, when it would be appropriate to spay, the best flea preventative for her, dental care, vaccines etc.

I learned so much from just one visit with them and the front desk is AMAZING! Their customer service was excellent and they really do care about their patients and human companions. I live in the North Bay but have no problem with driving the distance especially with how well you treated us. In addition to the premium level of Veterinary care your staff provides. I will be using Creature Comfort for all of Luna's Veterinary needs. Thank you to all of the wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly Veterinary professionals working there.

This is an excellent veterinary practice - I have been going here for years and they are kind and compassionate. I took my old cat, Boo here for care for the end of her life and they helped her a lot with kidney issues and all that and now I take my current cats, Teddy and Bear there. I love that they do a combo of holistic solutions and traditional vet stuff. Very good solutions. They have treated my cats for urinary blockage and some intense stuff and done really well. I am happy with the care.

The vets at Creature Comfort have been very caring and creative in helping us care for three elderly rescue poodles with an assortment of health problems. They are kind and very clear with communication; I have never felt dismissed or like they are impatient with me. And the dogs actually LIKE the staff, which seems like a miracle, given that most procedures are not exactly fun.

These are good people. My one gripe is that it is very difficult to get into and out of here if you have mobility issues: call ahead and they will come get the animal from the car or assist if you need help.

My dog is my BABY and as such I want him to have the best possible care he can. I have taken him to MANY different Vets in his 11yrs and Creature Comfort is where we are happiest. I love the fact that they are an Integrative Vet practice combining both traditional and holistic modalities. I appreciate that they ALWAYS educate and give options (both holistic and traditional) and never try to "push" anything on me.

I trust them wholeheartedly as they do genuinely care about my baby. I have had appts with both Dr. Williams and Dr. Luna and they are both First Rate. My little guy has anxiety and is terrified of the Vet yet they are so calm, kind, patient and gentle. He does better with them than he has anywhere else. I also need to give major kudos to the Front Desk and the rest of the staff.

They are truly animal lovers and know my baby as soon as we walk in the door. He is greeted before I am (as it should be in a Vet's office) and this by name! I don't know if they remember all of their patients like they know him but it definitely makes it special. :) If you want a Vet that is on the forefront of Veterinary Medicine with a well rounded and COMPASSIONATE approach this is the Vet for you.

What is it with these holistic veterinarians and their terrible front desks? There is one great person on staff here, Alexa. She's great. When she helps me, I'm charged the correct amount, my insurance gets submitted, and I am scheduled properly for the next visit. When she isn't, it's a mess. I have been undercharged, overcharged, had to call repeatedly requesting my pet insurance documents are submitted, had to justify that yes I did in fact make an appointment. For the amount of money they charge, this should not be happening.
