Dr Leggieri is amazing, I couldn't ask for a better doctor for my pet. My dog needed surgery, Dr Leggieri listened to my concerns and past issues, worked on a customized treatment plan and followed up with us even over the weekend to be sure my dog is getting the best care. I really appreciate everything and for allowing me to be calm leaving my dog with someone who truly cares about him.

*Update* They are actively now fixing the system to have check-ins be smoother. Vetinary work is really good, just a very high demand office so there are often delays. Better pricing than Broadway vet.

Excellent response time from front staff, and a great experience once we were able to get scheduled. Limited p dedicated arking (two spots out front), but street parking all around, and a short walk once off the main road in Rockridge. The staff are friendly, efficient, and patient when it comes to pet handling - or any questions from a first-time owner! Highly recommend Claremont as the place to go for your pet needs!

This is a great place to take your pets. I started taking my two cats to CVH during the pandemic and my rascals have received excellent and compassionate care for a variety of issues--routine things like dental cleanings as well as injuries (swallowing a foxtail). Dr. McDonald is knowledgeable and compassionate. She answers all my questions (and I ask a lot of questions!).

They also try to get you in quickly for urgent care situations. These are ethical vets who would never overcharge you or run unnecessary tests to make money. Hats off to all the vets and staff who have kept the clinic going during extraordinary circumstances!

Took in our precious cat to get some dental work done. Claremont Vet Hospital and Dr L were great, and their care for our cat really came through. I got a call from Dr L just before surgery letting us know what to expect, a call when it was done letting us know all went well, and after-care instructions and emails checking up on her. Really helped put our worries at ease. Thanks for taking care of our kitty!

Get yourself ready to get a pricy 'package' every time you visit them. Their 'scientific' reasoning when you ask why certain procedures are in included in a package, which you're being forced to get them all is 'that's just our package!' They openly just want to make as much money as possible of you. I guess can't blame them much either. They're located in a reach older generation neighborhood.

But hurts when they call it 'good medicine'. ------ This is an additional comment to your 'rational' response. 1st of all, no this relation does not work, I agree on that. But others should know who you really are. When a vet or whomever claims what they say is based on science, they must provide scientific rational reasoning for whatever is that they say in regards to a medical procedure.

Once you use such reasoning such as 'that's our package', you invalidate yourself. I apologize to all car sale people for drawing such comparison line. This is conning others, hoping them not opposing your way of making easy money. 2nd, prior to me coming over I discussed the situation with your office o and I was told I don't need to do any of those procedures listed on the invoice.

You knew what you've told me, because you just said 'the other vet'. That just makes you a more of a sneaky con. Let me clarify this to you, the ONLY medicine you believe in is: sell as much as you can and hope no one asks you why. Wish you worst of everything you bring to others and sorry for your those who trust you.

I love Claremont Veternary Hospital. All the staff and vets here are so compassionate and wonderful. They have taken great care of both of my fur babies. They are very reasonable about costs and testing/treatment and have bent over backwards to be available for appointments even during covid and being slammed. I truly appreciate them.

I absolutely adore Dr. Leggieri and the staff at Claremont! They have taken such great care of my feral baby Patches who needed her eye, teeth and part of her ears removed. I've been happily driving from San Jose to Oakland to get Patches the best care available for her special needs. Thank you so much for being awesome!

*UPDATE* I wanted to update this review by saying I first reached out to the hospital to let them know my concerns before writing this review. They have been very responsive and receptive to what I had to say. I really appreciate their concern and willingness to learn from this as well as share with me how they plan to do better in the future. Yesterday I took my cat to this hospital because she hadn't been feeling well and to establish care since I am new to the area.

I want to preface this review by saying I used to be an RVT and worked in the veterinary field for about 10 years. I also understand how busy vets are right now (and always) and they are currently having to see clients in the parking lot because of the pandemic. It is stressful all around, but what I experienced is unacceptable. Everything was great until I got my cat back the first time.

I noticed the towel that came in her carrier was gone and a potty pad was in the carrier. I also noticed blood on her belly. When I mentioned the blood to the woman she took her back in the hospital to have her checked. The second time I got her back I was told she didn't have blood on her and the potty pad was removed and not replaced. When I got home I took her out and her backside was covered in dried urine, she had a hematoma (this is like a bruise but swollen with blood) where blood was drawn, blood covering her leg and abdomen, and bruises on her abdomen.

This blood was dried and had been there for some time by the look of it. I called to explain the condition of my cat and my disappointment. The doctor ended up calling and apologizing, which I appreciate. I was told they would check in tomorrow. I have yet to receive a check in. I did email them again today because I noticed patches of fur missing.

This fur wasn't missing when I brought her in. I did notice a clump of fur in her carrier when I got her back but didn't think anything of it until I saw missing fur on her neck. This is only an assumption, but based on my experience it looks like someone scruffed her and ripped out her fur. I don't think any of this is intentional. I think they truly care about pets.

I do think this is what happens when hospitals are busy, rushing, and not giving the attention to each patient/client that they deserve. I totally understand how my cat could get a hematoma, have some blood on the leg after a blood draw, even have peed in her carrier and cage. What I don't understand is returning a cat (or any pet) in this condition. It was very hurtful to see my cat this way.
