In 1973, Dr. Edward J. Oliver purchased a small house in rural Clarkston, Georgia. The two bedroom home had previously housed a child day care center, but Dr. Oliver had no problem envisioning his future animal hospital there. After weeks of planning and hard work, separate rooms for surgery, treatments, and kenneling of family pets had been completed.

They've provided the pet education I've requested and vet care to keep my puppy on schedule with vaccinations. Vet charges are straightforward. No ambiguity.

The Dr.is knowledgeable but does not have good systems nor adept at training new employees. Very demeaning. I believe she has the onset of Parkinson's. Do not allow the scalpel to slip on your pet. Not only that but I worked there about 8 hrs and as he has yet to pay me. Do not board your dog here. There was a black lab the 2 days I was there and he was so depressed. They take the boarders out 3 times a day But only to go to the bathroom. They are not walked or exercised. The total time outside the cage does not exceed 30 minutes.

Took my dog here today for the first time. Overall experience was okay. Best part was I called and was able to get my dog an appointment the next day, whereas every other nearby vet was going to be 2-3 weeks. Discovered why, the place is way more expensive. I took my other dog to thrive for an annual visit, and the total cost for the physical, vaccines and routine tests was $124.

The cost for the same services at church st. was $240. The physical exam alone was $25 at thrive and $68.50 at church st, both for dogs new to the practice. I feel a little robbed. Quality seemed about the same, just as thorough with the exam. We saw a fill in vet who seemed competent but a little rude. If you want people to get their dog care, probably better to give advice without scolding them.

They also only gave a 1 year rabies vaccine and didn't provide the tag. I have to mail forms and pay $10 for the tag. Also they asked me to arrive 30 min early, which I did but then had to wait for 45 min.

The vet there is so good with pups. We have an older pomeranian that is very sensitive and blind in one eye and she got him to calm down and not act up from the first time we ever brought him in and every time after that.

Dr Fordyce has been taking care of my kitties for over ten years, including two elderly cats who lived well under her patient care and guidance. A shout-out as well to her long-term staff members.

A big thanks to Dr. Fordyce and staff for a great experience. Regular vet was booked and they worked me in the same day. Such a down to earth team and great, thorough care for my pup. Will be back!

Exceptional veterinary care! Dr. Cindy Fordyce is straightforward, knowledgable and caring. Her assistants are equally attentive and very pleasant to work with. Everyone in the office seems care deeply for the animals that come through their doors. The receptionists can be a little tricky to get ahold of over the phone, but call back or leave a message. they're very nice and also very busy :) My 5 year old dog is very important to me, but with a mortgage, a baby almost here and the uncertainty of my work because of covid, we have to budget for pet care (and everything else in our life). CSAH is wonderful, affordable pet care. Dr. Fordyce is excellent at breaking down and explaining the details of your pup's care.

I very much appreciated that no one in the office tried to up sell me on additional vaccinations and unnecessary tests or medications. (If anyone reading this has taken a pet to VCA, you probably know what I'm talking about) For as long as we live in Decatur, this is the only place I'm trusting for my dog's care.

Dr. Fordyce is both knowledgeable and does a great job explaining things. She is very good with all my animals, even when they are not on their best behavior. The staff are all caring and sweet while working efficiently.

Love Dr. Osborne. Two different dogs with two different sets of issues have been seen by her. Elderly female and an 8 week old GSD. She is very attentive to the animal as well as the people There were no questions when the visit was complete. I love that. Dr Fordyce and Dr Osborne have differing manners, and my poor 13 year old dog got in the middle of it all. I would not recommend them except for cut and dried appointments.

Love Dr. Fordyce. After having gone to other vets, particularly those VCA chain vets, you realize how thorough she is. I've had vets barely touch my dogs, just do the vaccines, ask a few questions, and then throw treats to the dog and that's about it! Dr. Fordyce actually gets down on the floor with the dog and a tech, feels all the joints and inner organs, listens to the heart and other internals, checks all the skin, teeth, ears, eyes, aspirates any new growths to test, etc.

She makes notes so she can compare with the following year, see if their arthritis is worse, if eye cloudiness is worse, etc. The dog is more comfortable on the floor rather than being up on the table, I think that's why she does it. They can be a little tough on their vet techs in training, but I hope that will pay off in having the most thorough techs too. I'm driving a bit out of my way to go here but it's worth it for the peace of mind.

Went here for the first time and was very pleased. The lobby is very nice, exam rooms are what I would expect in Vet clinic, the staff at the front desk on the ball with the questions regarding my dog's records from my former and now retired Vet. Both Vet techs were friendly and very good with my dog. Dr. Seth Cohn was excellent. He explained what he thought the growth was, why certain testing was needed, the results and gave me two options on how to best handle it.

Very clear and concise explanation that was at a level I could completely understand. My dog, Jack and I have found him a new Veterinary home. I was very impressed throughout my first time visit with them.

We had a great experience withDr. Kohen. He was knowledgeable and compassion toward our sick kitty. He did a great job explaining what was going on and the best way to treat it. This was our first time taking a pet to a sick visit and we were all nervous! Steve the cat did great and we'd happily recommend this vet to others!

Our family loves Dr. Fordyce and her staff. We recently had to put down a family pet after 14 years, and we were treated with kindness and compassion. They also take good care of our other pup, and their prices are fair and honest without upsells. Won't take our pets to anyone else.

This place is stuck in the early 80s. Like another reviewer mentioned, the condition of the entire building is absolutely disgusting. I came by for a tour because I am new to the state and wanted somewhere close. The equipment they used was so outdated and dysfunctional that they had to tilt or beat the poor machine to work properly. Why are they still using mercury filled thermometers in 2017? There's dust, dirt, rust, grim, and mildew coming from the hanging roof.

The back where the dogs/cats boarded and bathe is so gross, it looks like a dungeon. They only get checked on or let out twice a day if the staff gets around to it. I am a veterinary assistant and I can't believe they allow this doctor to continue running business this way. I had to get out of there in fear a rat would come scurrying out. To add insult to injury, Dr. Fordyce is so short with people and rude, even to her clients. I would never bring or board my pet at a place like this.

My pets have gotten outstanding care here. And when I lost a long time pet to illness I could feel the compassion and geniune love. I now have two pets I rescued and Church Street Animal Hospital gave me a discount on their shots and start up care. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Shout out to my pet's doc. Dr. Fordyce.

Once again, Dr. Fordyce and Team took such excellent care of Waffle. She was in distress, they got me in immediately and determined what was wrong. I've been coming to Church Street AH for 12 years now and hands down this the most competent and caring group of doctors and staff. Dr. Fordyce is THE BEST. She thinks outside the box and stays current on what's new for pets. Well done, CSAH!

This place is absolutely filthy! The staff is completely disengaged. The front desk receptionist is very nice but she is clearly the exception to those that they hired to work here. The doctors try to upsell you on every possible service. I actually witnessed one of the doctors swearing at the receptionist at the front desk while they were other clients in the waiting room.

Her rudeness is clearly contagious with the rest of the staff. Time to find a new veterinarian. And by the way, you can't schedule any service more than four weeks out because they "don't have the schedule yet." As a bonus, they will try to Shame you if you refuse their suggestions.

I wouldn't take Jack any where else. He is treated so well here. He loves everyone. Everyone seems to genuinely love the patients and want what's best for them. I also so appreciate that my concerns are listened to and answered honestly. I never feel ignored or that what I'm saying is silly.

My furbaby is 9 years old and I waited until now to get him neutered. He has a heart murmur so he had to go under anesthesia. They took great care of him. I was informed by the staff throughout the entire process. Great place to take your furbabies.

I am a former employee, and this was the worst place I've ever worked in my life! Dr. Fordyce is EXTREMELY rude to her employees, plays favoritism, treats employees like slaves, and treats them like they are nothing, even in front of clients! She has a high employee turn over rate because people get fed up with her cruelty, and the negative environment she creates, and they quit! It's like, no matter how hard your work for her, how much you bend yourself for her, it's never good enough!

One wrong move and you become her biggest enemy. I initially wasn't going to write this review, but even though I quit more than 3-4 months ago, I'm still feeling a bit traumatized form the experience of working for her. I mean, it's gotta say something when clients felt compelled to apologize to me on her behalf. Many of her clients are long time clients and friends who have learned to put up with her attitude. And, many of them were very kind to me because they saw the way Dr. Fordyce treated us.

I don't don't like to speak ill of people, especially my elders, but working at Church St Animal Hospital was the worst experience of my life! I get panic attacks thinking about that place!

Dr Fordyce is incredibly RUDE! I've owned cats my entire life & our older male cat started having problems with peeing in random places around the house. My husband had taken cats (including this one) there about a decade ago, so we just decided to go there. First impression was the staff wasn't even cordial to each other. One staff member almost started verbally abusing another one.

When we got back into the room, she tried to tell us that his peeing was a behavioral issue. Umm, no. I've had issues with male cats spraying & this isn't one of them. We told her we suspected a UTI & she grudgingly got a urine sample. She also did a terrible job doing that. She was digging around in his poor bladder trying to get a sample.

To our kitty's credit, he behaved really well. When the results came back & she said that she suspected he has diabetes. My husband & I talked it over & decided that we weren't going to move forward with insulin shots at this time. Other than the few accidents, he's happy, eating, drinking, & otherwise totally fine. I called her back & told her our decision.

When she called back to confirm the urine culture, she started talking down to us about our decision. My husband had her on speaker & it's a good thing he hung up when he did. She was about to get an earful from me. She needs to learn to respect the family's decision & step off. We're never taking our cats there again & will warn everyone we know against them.

The staff at this office are professional and caring. I have been going to this office for years with my Sheltie. Dr Fordyce is compassionate and knowledgable! I always feel confident that my pet is getting the best care possible. They understand that there can be two patients. When your loved pet is not well, they know their owners are stressed and concerned.

They make sure both you and your pet leave feeling better. They take the time to explain what is being done at the visit and to make sure you understand why this will lead to a healthier outcome.

I have been going here for years. but in the past few years the pricing has skyrocketed, probably due to the area becoming more wealthy. The doctors are nice and knowledgeable but they are way too quick to recommend expensive diagnostics like ultrasound and x-ray without any regard for the customer's financial limitations. Having received second opinions, many vets say ultrasounds are expensive and unnecessary in many cases.

They have also refused to due certain procedures without layers of expensive diagnostics. Sometimes they almost border on "shaming" you for not taking their advice. After almost 10 years, I am switching vets due to the expensive pricing and overuse of diagnostics. If you are modest means, you should take your business elsewhere. If you can afford it, then you are in good hands.

I don't go here but a very good friend of mine brought them her cat who unfortunately had to be put down. But instead of billing her they instead sent a sympathy card. That was so super sweet and thoughtful. I'm glad there are still good people in this world :

In the words of a reviewer below, and I couldnt agree more: "Dr. Fordyce is hands-down the most capable vet I've ever interacted with. She has such a calming effect on animals and works hard to put nervous pets at ease." Im one of those people who are totally irrational about loving my dog Biggie. If he breaks a nail at 2AM, Im going to the emergency room. Biggie is my life and I love him more than anything in the world.

You can imagine the crazy 100mph+ trip we took to the nearest vet after he sniffed the wrong wasps nest last summer and his head swelled up like a basketball.: Anyway, I love Church Street Animal Hospital. Plain and simple. Wouldnt go anywhere else unless it was life threatening and after hours, and even then I would take him there the next day to confirm. You dog owners will understand when I say that I actually and sincerely TRUST Dr. Fordyce with my dog's life.period. Thank you Church Street animal hospital.
