Services
Gurjit Sandhu, DVM, is our chief veterinarian. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1981 which gives him 33 years of experience in providing compassion and care for your pets. Dr. Sandhu has always loved animals. When he was a 10-year-old child, one of his pets became seriously ill. A veterinarian saved his dog's life and ever since that day, Dr. Sandhu dreamed of becoming a veterinarian so he too could save animals lives. When it was time to go to college, Dr. Sandhu's parents sent him to traditional medical school.
Long-time Price is Right host Bob Barker said it after every show for 35 years, and we'll repeat it here: "don't forget to spay and neuter your pets!" More than just helping to control the pet population, spaying or neutering your pet has a wide range of health benefits for them, including helping to lower the risk of uterine infections, prostate problems and a wide variety of cancers.
Protecting your pet means being up to date on their vaccinations and taking them in for routine checkups. Preventative medicine is the best course of action in ensuring their health for years to come. Christown Animal Hospital is pleased to be your destination for vaccinations and all other wellness assessments and examinations.
My 25 year old son has 2 kitten. We called asking for HELP, the kitten got a fish hook in its lip. Christown took us in quickly, they removed the hook, and the kittens lip never swelled or gotten infected. The price was amazing for an emergency walk in, like buying a new pair of shoes. Thanks for loving our kitten as much as we do.

My 8 year old boxer went missing for 4 days in the White Mountains after my in laws took her camping, we amazingly were able to find her with the help of park rangers, but not before she had a run in with a porcupine. We pulled most of the quills out but she still had 4 quills embedded in her chest. Dr Powers and his staff spent almost 2 hours in surgery removing the quills, and at a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend Dr Powers and Christown Animal Hospital.

IF I CAN GIVE A NEGATIVE 5 I WOULD. took my pet in for microship and doctor recommended all of this test for my dog. and of course i said yes. i love my pet. staff and doctor told me "we will call you as soon as the results come in". NEVER HAPPENED. i had to call the place up and when receptionist answer, she was telling me that results are negative and to have a good day. so fast to get me off the phone. i asked to speak with someone else because i had some more questions and one of the nurses was answering some of my questions and told me to hold on while he got the doctor. unfortunately for him, he for got to put me on hold and i heard everything. nurse was doing his best to get answers to tell me and to try to get the doctor on the phone, but i heard the doctor say "just tell him to leave his number, write it down on a paper and tell him i will call him back. or just tell him im with another patient". this place just want as much money from you and do not care what so ever for your pet. if you really love your pet than just go somewhere else.

The staff is very friendly and the doctors here assure me that my dog is in great hands! I appreciate the reasonable pricing and the availability they have for appointments. 10/10 will be coming back when needed.

The staff was really friendly and welcoming! They answered all of my questions and provided me with the care I needed for my puppy. They made sure we both felt comfortable in their care.

Dr. Sandhu, heather, ahdon and The entire staff are awesome. Best part is they can see your animal right away and won't tear your head off with cost. I drive all the way from Gilbert Arizona just to come to this animal hospital because everything around Gilbert sucks and they charge way more than you should have to pay.

I have been here a few times. I've read the reviews other people have posted. And I'd like to comment on my perspective for, customer service, treatment, price Customer service- on this very last visit I took my cat to see Dr power. He seemed like a good listener and I appreciated that. The vet tech was named Heather and she was also understanding and a good communicator.

The front desk is a group of people who do their best but are potentially overwhelmed by the work. On this last visit, things felt very disordered between the doctor and the front desk. Things like consent forms were forgotten. The front desk also asked me to sign a blank consent form with open areas to fill. That's just ignorance and poor practice.

I asked for copies of my cat's x-rays and while they were on the phone they said we can email them to you. But I never got an email. And I think this is because they are tasked with multiple things at once. I give them the benefit of the doubt, but it feels bad as a customer service experience. It feels like a lack of empathy. The value of a pet in someone's life can be very significant so empathy is needed and it needs to be done well.

Unfortunately my situation with my cat was very emotional so separating the emotion from the event was very difficult and the front desk wasn't helping. This could be changed if I felt they actually cared about my situation with body language, eye contact and acknowledgement. The key word is felt and the trick is changing perception. Treatment- if you've gone to the vet before you know that treatment plans for disease can be on a trial basis.

Not everything has a set path for treatment but there are tests you can run to treat it. We tested my cat for a number of things, to find out that this location could not accommodate the needs. This is not necessarily a bad thing but it did cause stress for me and my cat to transfer to an emergency animal hospital. I'm not disappointed with what they uncovered and this was helped by the fact that Dr Power and Heather took the time to explain and were good listener for the situation. Price- it's hard to say what standard prices are for a cat.

Walk in fee ( I called ahead to make a same day appointment so this was confusing), exam, Sedation, blood work, x-ray, subcutaneous fluid injection, antibiotics, and nail clipping ran me at about $1,000. Not sure what the going rate for that is at other places. Overall I think the doctor knows what he's taking about, the technician is a communicator, but the front desk experience is rough.

If you find yourself coming in here your animal will be taken care of but you may get a bad taste from the experience with the front. I hope this review helps you paint a picture of expectations.

I had a great experience today Dr. Powers was very nice and patient with me as I asked some questions about my dogs procedure and after effects. I felt confident going home knowing that on my dog comes in for her C-section she will be in good hands. The front office staff was very professional and respectful of my needs and my dogs needs. I'd say it was definitely a good experience.

Please do not bring your pet here I brought my pet here for many years, with Dr Sandhu he did everything possible to care for your pet but he does run this practice any longer, the new mangment does care about your pets, you will not be treated like cared for customer. My pet suffers from seizures, we use the this vet for his prescription, just because the pharmacy mis spelled his first name the vet denied twice after we where told it would be fixed on the vets end, then the third time we are told that we need to bring in our pet for blood work.

We make an appointment and they charge us the walk in fee. Meanwhile I was worried that my pet was gonna go into a seizure because of all this he was running low. This was not first time they do this, my same pet also has severe pet allergies we ask for them to fill his prescription they said they would, a week passes we hear nothing I called then we are told it is on backorder for another week and half knowing this why not give us a call to notify us.

So again we asked can we my pet get a shot to treat his allergies until his oral medication comes in, the vet said yes and there would not be a walk in charge. When I showed up they tell me there is new policy we have to charge a walk in fee one day after spoke with them on the phone. This has been my experience with the new management, also the front desk staff are not very knowledgeable make sure when speaking to them you log the name of who talked to. Stay safe all.

I do not recommend coming here unless you want to be treated rudely and disrespectfully! I have been coming here for years! I rescue cats and own seven cats of my own. My house is 1/2 of a block away. Now that they have"switched hands", there is zero customer service and poor communication!

I want to say that this place is a rare find when it comes to vet care. They are not Corporate so they have compassion and don't try to rip you off. Dr Sandhu is gentle with the animals and genuinely interested in how your pet is doing. Stacey at the front desk was amazing and my dog Pheona was so at ease there. Dr. Sandhu's tech was extremely patient and listened to my concerns. The rest of the staff were equally as great. If you are looking for a fantastic vet, Dr. Sandhu is well above standard : Pheona is happy as a clam now!

If you need a vet that is competent, affordable, and available in the most dire emergency, this place is a solid option, they will help with everything they have. If you need your hand held and to feel good through the experience, maybe go somewhere else. They saved a life, and that's what matters.

I have rescued many cats and dogs and have brought all of them here for their health needs. Everything from spay and neuter to dental care. The staff is very knowledgeable and this location is busy, so be patient. The care for the animals has been exceptional and all at a reasonable price. I will continue to bring pets here and would recommend to anyone. Your pet will be well cared for. Keep in mind some bad reviews may actually reflect poor care by pet owners after procedures. These people are good.

They leave you on hold for a long time. The lady who answered the phone straight started ignoring me while I was talking to talk to whoever was near her and when I said hello a few times and she finally realized that she forgot she was in the phone with me and left me talking to myself she put me on hold again. I hear the doctor is good but so far the people at the front who should be making it pleasant and give a good first impression failed miserably.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. If I could rate 0 stars, I would. This "vet" does not care about your animal! I took two of my cats here. He charges out the A** for minor procedures. One of my cats got an infected paw over two months ago, NOT ONCE did he look at her paw while "examining" her, on top of that he has prescribed all of the wrong medications, it is STILL NOT HEALED 2 MONTHS LATER, despite all my efforts to keep it clean and medicated.

They gave both of my cats the wrong size cones, so they were able to chew their bandages off over night thus making their wounds worse. When I called to complain they did not care how much I have paid, and even made me PURCHASE a BIGGER cone and PAY FOR RE-BANDAGING when they were wrong to begin with! I have emailed pictures of my cats still-infected paw to their staff/the doctor and I never received a response.

They told me it's not their problem and I would have to pay for a THIRD VISIT AND THIRD TREATMENT BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TWO TIMES! They do not care about the well-being of your animals, and will gladly take $500 from you in 5 minutes.

I want to give a huge shout out to Heather. I called about a small procedure for my puppy and Heather stated that I could bring her in at anytime and did not need an appointment. When I brought her in, it was busy and Heather was able to take care of my puppy quickly and thoroughly. I was so grateful for her patience (my puppy was nervous and was not very cooperative). Heather, if you see this, THANK YOU and I owe you a Starbucks :)

If I could shut this place down I would. Dr. Gurjit Sandhu sold me a puppy with Parvo and told me he had no idea that he had it. I advise NOBODY to go here and DO NOT buy a dog from them.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! This place is disgusting and unsanitary. I took my 10 week old puppy for his shots and the vet takes me to this room a disgusting room full of needles with blood and towels full of blood were they had treated another animal. He proceeds to tell me put him on the table so I tell him I don't think it's ok for me to put him on a table full of blood with used needles on it.

He rolled his eyes goes to the back and literally pulls a rag from the floor and walks back to the room and tells me "there" with an attitude. So I told him absolutely not. You are unsanitary and disgusting this is not ok at all! I tell him never mind I'll go somewhere else and and he proceeds to roll his eyes one more time and say " your choice" like I'm making the wrong choice by leaving his disgusting pet clinic. DO NOT GO HERE! he does not care for the animals and only cares about the money. They are a health hazard and uncaring!
