Pets have a natural desire to chew and chewing can help reduce plaque and tartar on the teeth. However, not all the items you find in your pet store are appropriate for your pet to chew. One of the most common causes of tooth fracture is chewing something too hard, such as real animal bones, hard plastic bones, cow hooves, or deer antlers. The things your pet chews should have some "give" and should not be harder than the teeth. Things like rawhide or durable rubber toys are tooth friendly and still provide the benefits of tartar prevention and entertainment.
Services
Root canal therapy is an excellent option for saving important teeth that have been fractured or are determined to be non-vital. The procedure is performed exactly as it would be for a human, except your pet will be dreaming peacefully under anesthesia. In many cases, root canal therapy is much easier on your pet than extraction, and preserves the structure of the tooth.
Your veterinarian is dedicated to providing the best care for your pet and sometimes that requires the help of a specialist who has concentrated their training on a certain area. He or she has recommended that your pet be seen by a veterinary dentist. Your veterinarian will instruct you to contact us to schedule an appointment.
Patients with severe dental disease are often geriatric and as a result may have age-related illnesses. We have advanced monitoring equipment and support for geriatric animals. A ventilator with a high pressure patient alarm is utilized and temperature regulation is carefully controlled. Short-acting anesthetics are used to allow for rapid recovery, and patients are kept in temperature controlled cages after the procedure.

I brought my cat here about 6 weeks ago, he basically had all his canines and front teeth removed. Not going to lie, it's not cheap but it's worth it. The quote was extremely accurate, they explained everything very well and my cats recovery went like clockwork. The best part is my cat has a new lease on life. I had no idea this world make such a drastic change in his quality of life. He has more energy, he's not as grumpy and he's actually losing weight (in a good way) because he's more playful, loving and energetic. Thank you!

The staff here is amazing! My 13 year old cat just had almost all of his teeth extracted and they did a wonderful job. It's hard not being able to go in with your pet but they provided a ton of updates and showed him a ton of love.

(Pre-Covid review) I took my puppy here about 3 years ago. After I got her, she had some malocclusions with her mandibular canines. I was working at the time as a surgical tech at a vet's office and was hoping we could take care of it there, but because of her age, my docs didn't feel comfortable doing the extractions. I was familiar with ADC and learned about this office after a google search because the wait for ADC was just too long.

Being a tech, you know the kinds of things you look for at an office and with vets. It's just like with any profession you're in, you learn what makes a place great or sub par. This place had my heart from the start! There was no wait. We were brought back into a room immediately by a super nice fella who was visibly very busy, but took his time to check us in and say hi to the puppy.

The vets were tickled that they got to see a puppy, since it's relatively uncommon for them to need specialty work, and they were so nice. Several doctors came in to assess her and they were all lovely. They gave us a detailed estimate and on surgical day, updates and even procedure photos for her records! I thought that was really neat, extra mile kind of stuff.

I couldn't wait to go back to work to show everyone how fancy it all was and how thorough the records were. At follow up, the vet was awesome with my puppy (as expected) and I was more than happy with her treatment there. It's now been a few years since we have been there, but her adult teeth came in well, and their advice worked and she has no issues now as an adult. I highly recommend this office, between their medical quality and their staff, you can't go wrong.

These guys are the very best of the best. They've helped two dogs of mine, prolonging the life of both dogs. They truly care. They are very responsive and very knowledgeable and will go above and beyond what is called on of them. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

Gold standard of care for my recent geriatric rescue. Knowing my new family member needed immediate attention, they got me on the cancelation list and was seen within a week. A marathon of a procedure was done that day. As a fellow member of the vet community, I know I was able to provide the best possible care available. Day 2 post op and he's eating better and healing nicely.

I never leave reviews, but I just cannot say enough good things about these folks. My 15 yo dog had to get extensive dental work, and we were super nervous due to her age and other complications. Every single person we encountered was knowledgeable, kind, and made us feel at ease. They kept us updated throughout the day of the procedure and have been so patient and responsive with my multiple follow up questions (like I said, super nervous!). I cannot thank them enough for hopefully giving my little buddy some relief in her last years. Hands down, best vets I've ever been to.

Took care of my pup a few weeks ago, and he had a wonderful time. Friendly staff, and knowledgeable vets. Quite pricey, but I'm assuming that is just the going rate for veterinary dentistry. Will go back if the pups ever need more dental work.

I Highly recommend this practice! Our dog had a mysterious problem - he would Yelp in pain Whenever he opened his mouth more than just a little. Other vets could not figure it out and recommended everything from acupuncture to opening his skull for exploratory surgery! This vet diagnosed it almost immediately and cured our dog with a single prescription! So many vets run numerous tests; it often seems that the goal is to run up fees. This vet did NOT do that, for which I am very grateful.

I'm a licensed veterinary technician in both Maryland and Virginia & have worked at veterinary clinics for the past 5 years. I had such a great (and easy) experience at this clinic. Every single staff member was pleasant and professional. I've gone to other veterinary dental centers and this was a great price point without having to sacrifice quality service. Highly recommend! Dr. Taney took wonderful care of my 6 year old, 80 lb boxer mix.

Outstanding canine dentistry care. The vets here are fantastic. Knowledgeable and compassionate. I always receive follow up calls by one of the vets. One of my dogs had root canal therapy on several teeth and it saved his life. He goes back annually for check ups. I also take my other dog for routine cleanings now. I love this practice and highly recommend it.
