Dr. Broussard opened Broussard Veterinary Clinic in 1986 with a location on Ambassador Caffery. That location was then known as Ambassador Veterinary Clinic. 8 years later, after successfully growing his clinic and needing more room to be able to expand his services, he moved his clinic to their current location.

Richard Broussard, a 1981 graduate of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, started Broussard Veterinary Clinic in August of 1986 on Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette, Louisiana.
No matter your pet's age, wellness care should be an important part of his or her health regimen. Wellness includes providing pets with the proper nutrition to fuel their lives, a healthy amount of exercise and enrichment, training and socialization, and preventative healthcare. Maintenance Care for Exotics and Avians such as wing and nail trims, husbandry counseling and vaccines when necessary.
We are one of few veterinary clinics in Lafayette, Louisiana to offer Laser Surgery. We are pleased to announce the use of CO2 Laser Surgery as an option in most of our surgical procedures. Laser technology is one more way we stay on the cutting edge to offer your pet the most advanced and current medical care available.

It's hard to believe I have been a customer of Dr. Broussard's for over 30 years. 30 years ago my cat was terminally ill and he showed so much compassion I will never forget this and will recommend him to anyone that is looking for a veterinarian. Dr. Marulo and all of the staff are excellent too! My dogs are never fearful to go to Dr. Broussard's office. I also have boarded my dogs with Broussard and have always been pleased.

The absolutely best customer service! The Doctors and staff genuinely care about your fur babies! They seen our beloved guinea pig on short notice when he fell ill. They cared for him like their own. They greeted us like family. When I called to tell them “Jack” our guinea pig has passed away they gave us such a sincere sympathy. They even mailed us a card. The kids and I cried as we read their sweet words. Thank you all so much!

Wonderful staff. Helped us get an appointment for our family cat to be put down the following day which I strongly believe was the incredibly humane thing to do. Dr. Amarillo was so caring and reassuring that we were making the right choice AND DESPITE COVID-19, SHE HUGGED BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I (safely, with face masks). Highly recommended!

Im from Ottawa Canada so I needed good advice for taking care of my dog while here. They gave me the impression i needed the short term rabies shot. Turns out it is not necessary for core lafayette and every other vet clinic I talked to said I was fine getting the long term one. They broke the nail completely off of my maltese while putting her in a cage.
I cant imagine how, other than they were trying to shove her in fast and without care. Upon telling this to my wifes friend it turns out they did the same thing to her dog a couple years back. They did not offer bandages and in fact they wanted to charge me $250 for a shot due to their mistake. I was appauled and blown away that they wanted to charge me for their mistreatment.
They seem to be driven by money first and foremost. Horrible experience. Good news is her nail has grown back months later but it was a lot of work cleaning it and changing the bandage every few days.

Rio, my Scarlet Macaw, had his first visit with Dr. Marullo
and staff! After witnessing the level of professionalism and caring shown to him, it was apparent that Rio will always be a Broussard Veterinary Clinic bird! Thank you Dr. Marullo and Staff!

The sweetest staff you could hope to help your pets! I've known the vets at BVH for years and they have always loved animals and wanted to help them. That they are equally kind and compassionate to their human owners is truly wonderful. Dr. Marrullo has taken care of all our dogs and seen us through the fun times and the sad times. They all were-and are- treated so well that I really can't imagine seeing anyone else.
