Services
Since 1970, Brielle Animal Clinic has been providing exceptional veterinary care to cats and dogs in Brielle and the surrounding communities. If you're looking for compassionate care and individualized treatment for your furry friend, you've come to the right place.
Brielle Animal Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Our vets offer preventive care, wellness exams and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Diagnostic imaging allows our veterinarians to look at your pet internally for clues about sickness or injury. Let our experienced team provide your pet with high-quality surgical care in a stress-free and relaxing environment.
Brielle Animal Clinic offers preventive care and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Bringing your pet to one of our veterinarians for a physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep them healthy. Exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.

They have a friendly syaff at the clinic. We had to carry our dog into the clinic because of a strainec ligament. The doctor gave him a shot to relieve the pain. The dog walked out on his own. No waiting they took us right in at the time of the appointment

Absolutely disgraceful. Mis diagnosed my Yorkie said she had 3 months left to live and that was with high doses of medicine. Had me in hysterics only to take more blood and say they made a mistake and my dog is perfectly healthy. Absolutely nothing wrong with her. What kind of a vet are you to make a mistake that goes from 3 months to live to perfectly healthy. Avoid at all costs. And it cost me $400+ to be told this mistake.

Dr Spangler is always great with our cats. Our family has gone here since 1978. The staff is great, too.

We've been bringing my dogs and cats here since the early 1970s. Dr. Spangle & Dr. North have been absolutely fantastic for almost 50 years!

I have been going here with a succession of dogs since the late 70's. Love both Dr. Spangle and North, but Dr. Spangle is truly one of a kind. He has added years to two of my past dogs after I had given up. He truly loves animals, and will give them a chance when it seems all is lost. Maybe his personality isn't for people who need to be coddled but it's perfect for the patient.

Dr Spangle, Dr North and the staff at Brielle animal clinic have cared for my animals for years. They never push unnecessary testing or procedures and always find time to squeeze us in when we are having an emergency. I would highly recommend them to anyone who truly cares for their animal.

Dr Spangle was very unsupportive. called with a problem with a kitten I am fostering and I was turned away because it was 3:15 on a Saturday. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but it was very unprofessional how Dr Spangle handled the call. I've had very good experiences at Brielle also, this issue just caught me by surprise.

The best care the best staff always. Under the saddest conditions a few evenings ago Dr Spangle and staff proved themselves to not only be professional but warm and caring as we had to let a 15 year old family cat go. Thanks so much for all you do

I am so disappointed with the care offered to my dog at the end of her life. We had taken our animals to this office for years and when it came to the difficult decision to put our dog to rest we felt very rushed and they would not allow us to stay with her at the time of euthanasia. I ended up taking her to another veterinarian who allowed us to stay with her in her last moments. Pet owners, do your research on each vet's policies!

I have taken my pets here for 25 years. Let me preface this: if you see Dr. Spangle then 4 stars. He is patient, knowledgable and gentle with my small Yorkie. If you see Dr. North 1 star. He is rude, doesn't listen to symptoms & does NOT know his veterinary medicine. I do not trust Dr. North to give my dog her annual shots. My dog was very sick.

Almost died sick. She had a very swollen belly, the runs, drastic weight loss & lethargy. Dr. North only would treat the symptom of the water retention in her belly. After 3 months of going, numerous blood tests and x-rays, water pills & anti biotics, she wasn't getting better. I did research and found a disease that fit ALL of her symptoms & test results.

He told me "no, it can't be that because it is very rare. Let's wait & see what happens." Instead of waiting while my dog suffered, we went to red bank to see a specialist. She was diagnosed w lymphagestascia. Yes very rare, but rather common in Yorkies. Dr. North never looked up the disease after I mentioned it or even attempted to figure out what was killing my dog.

She would have died without immediate treatment. She is now doing great & we go to see Dr. Spangle for shots and routine visits. But we do have to go to red bank annually to monitor her disease. I don't know that I would go to Brielle for anything major. But for routine upkeep and basic issues, Dr. Spangle is right on.

Dr. Spangle and the staff were always great to deal with. When my dog was getting older and near the end they were honest and forthcoming about his condition and our options. Thank you so much for taking care of my Rocky who has now passed on.

I have NEVER met a veterinarian that I didn't like, but Dr Spangle at the Brielle Animal Clinic has exceeded my worst nightmares. Don't get me wrong, the women working in the Clinic were sweet and kind, you could not have asked for better. but the Vet. oh, the Vet. We were first time patients, new to the area, and chose to bring our 30lbs dog to the Brielle Animal Clinic out of convenience. Dr Spangle was rude, and seized every opportunity to slight my husband and I.

Our dog was in to have sutures removed, which requires being held down. He fussed for a minute, but them calmed himself, but Dr Spangle would not stop saying how out of the ordinary it was for our dog to struggle, how our dog needed more discipline, and how he could clearly see why other veterinarians would turn us away. Now. I'm just going to throw this out there. but these are dogs. if you hold them down and then begin picking at one of their wounds, they will struggle. Frankly, I thought our dog did very well- he didn't bite, bark, or growl.

So for Dr Spangle to make such curt, abusive comments when it was so uncalled for was a direct disparagement of my husband and I as pet-parents. The only redeemable part of the visit were the sweet women. Dr Spangle is nothing more than an ornery man. Spare yourself. Go somewhere else.
