I love the staff and the vet. If your pet has a problem they get you in quick and get your loved one fixed right up. I also love the fact I can even discuss behavioral issues and doc has a remedy for that too! I have 2 100 pound Dobermans best vet Ever! A co worker takes his cat there and shared the same opinion as me!

MALPRACTICE! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET JUST YOUR MONEY! My experience was so terrible I want to give a zero. but that's not possible so I am giving Birdneck Animal Hospital a one. I have only visited this Vet 3 times and I will never go back. Not to be nasty but strictly in protection of our furry friends I will tell my community to not go there also.

Of all the times I came in for an appointment were times of real concern for my Cat's health and I felt my Cat was never shown the care she deserved. I asked several questions throughout my appointments to get answers and every time they would shut me up with a treatment that was so overpriced + did not even address the issue I came in for. My Cat is still very sick so I have just been doing deep research to find answers. her quality of life has been so decreased from whatever she has going on and I just want her to live her best life.

So basically I've been seeing this vet for 2 months now and my Cat's health has just been declining as they keep taking my money. so now I've found a new vet. again. I just want to express my frustration from Birdneck Animal Hospital taking hundreds of dollars from me as my furry friends health kept declining due to getting misdiagnosed treatments. they are no healing place for your furry friend.

And the owner replies to my comment weeks later with " we have never seen your cat " That is an absolute lie. The gaslighting in the comments from The Owner is so not cool. Red flags everywhere at this place. Trust your intuition. Do not take your friends here.

Dr. Johnson is a great vet who cares greatly about your pets health and he does everything in his power to make sure your animals are cared for. The rest of the staff is very kind and helpful as well.

An ex girlfriend took MY dog in for a vet visit and signed him up for their "health care plan" without my consent and even though she was not the rightful owner of the dog I am responsible for paying 50$ a month health plan for a year. No one at Birdneck animal hospital asked her if she was the OWNER of the dog and allowed her to sign up for the plan. Was basically told it is what it is. How is this fair? It's not

Over priced and Dr Johnson refused my dog antibiotics over politics do not trust him!!!!

I have been taking my cat to Dr. Johnson for almost ten years I believe. I have been fully confident in his care and suggestions for Keke. He is always thorough and kind and has never pushed services that I don’t need. Once Dr. Johnson does his initial assessment of my cat and makes his recommendation for treatment that day, whether routine or something special, he has the staff come in and explain the itemized costs of everything before going any further.

That gives me the opportunity to decide on whether or not I can do everything in one visit etc. The very first time I went there, I was in the waiting room and there were numerous binders with tons of thank you letters from pet owners thanking him for his care over the years. Dr. Johnson shows great sincerity in caring for my cat as I know he does for everyone’s pet. I have had nothing short of a positive experience at Birdneck Animal Hospital.

I love Birdneck Animal Hospital - I got the recommendation from a neighbor who has a golden named Sailor. When I walked in, Sailor was featured as the pet of the month with her picture on the wall which was so cool! It is very easy to make an appointment there, and I was able to talk to Dr. Johnson and go into the exam room with Ziggy, my golden mix.

We are new to Virginia Beach, and this is the first time I've been able to speak to a vet and go into the exam room since we brought Ziggy home almost two years ago which was amazing! Everyone was masked, so I felt very safe. Dr. Johnson took his time with Ziggy and made sure all of my questions were answered. From being in the room, I remembered some things I would have not mentioned if I was unable to go back with Ziggy. Dr. Johnson is a very caring doctor, and it is evident in how he treated Ziggy with kindness and compassion. I highly recommend Birdneck Animal Hospital - I'm very excited to have found such an amazing vet and staff including Amanda to care for Ziggy!

I scheduled a checkup for my senior dog (13 yrs old) and we got to see Dr. Johnson who was incredibly caring and gentle to my aging pup. His assistant was just as impressive as she kept him calm and had an overall great read of the room, if my dog got antsy or uncomfortable, she would adjust and redirect him. Dr. Johnson gave us wonderful advice and offered affordable treatment plans as well. My experience at Birdneck Animal Hospital was excellent & it's honestly a relief to have found them.

They don't take any appointments on Thursday because the doctor is out so why are they open again? Make it make sense

I contacted them about euthanizing my pet. I called I spoke to the receptionist I asked her how much it was she gave me one price I had to wait a whole another day while my pet was laying there suffering and they scheduled me for late in the afternoon. Then upon arrival I had to wait then when they got me back there they were very nice and polite explained my options to me.

Then when they took my pet back to put an IV in him so they could give him the injection. That is when the receptionist came back into the room as I was waiting for my pet to return and told me it was almost twice what I was told over the phone. So luckily I had the money otherwise I would have had to take my pet with him suffering on the verge of death and go elsewhere. So as far as manners very polite as far as professionalism and making sure you understand how much it's going to cost, I give him a half star.

My fiance and I just moved to the area and had no knowledge of animal hospitals in the area. My dog Sunny was in a lot of pain and we tried all the emergency animal hospitals and couldn't get in. Birdneck so graciously allowed us to come in and Dr. Johnson saw our Sunny. The staff was so kind and patient with our Sunny. They offered a great treatment plan that was accommodating and affordable. We will be back and plan on making them our primary care for Sunny!

Dr Johnson and his staff are absolutely incredible. Thank you for helping us retrieve the zipper tab from my French Bulldogs tummy. Your love and passion for animals is evident in your daily work. Blessed to have you as our fur babies vet.

I'm not originally from VB so it took me a while to find a vet. This one is less than half a mile from my house so I decided to check them out. EVERYONE here is very passionate about their job : thank you my Tally is healthier than ever!

A very caring, sweet and understanding staff. Very willing to answer asked questions, and genuinely do care for your pet. Probably the most up to date vet I've visited. Their payment plans are fair, and they're always upfront about costs before any charges are made. They've been very kind to my senior cat, and I trust them with her health and care. We plan on getting another pet into the next year, and I plan on trusting them with that animals regular care as well as long as we're here in Virginia Beach. Fantastic.

I've taken my dog to two different vets prior to finding BAH and have to say I'm impressed. Not only is the staff there super friendly, they are truly compassionate and that shows in their work. Dr. Johnson reaches out personally after every visit which means a lot to me as I've never received that type of care from another vet. I always leave feeling like my animal was taken care of, as was I, during the process.

First, Dr. Johnson and his staff are amazing, professional and great at what they do. I know people will say "oh it's a little more expensive than xyz vet" well it's worth it. The difference in cost is met with the higher quality of care, a thorough explanation of what went on during the visit and what they advise as well as great care of your pet. I can't say enough about this vet, excellent all around!

Dr. Johnson is very knowledgeable with reptiles. I highly recommend bringing your scaly friend to him, in both wellness and sickness.

Everyone here is great with our dog. Dr. Johnson provides wonderful care to animals and the staff is fantastic!

Birdneck animal hospital is one of the best hospitals I have been to. Dr Johnson caught things that others vets did not, therefore I never had to worry or second guess his judgement. ALL of the staff is courteous, passionate, and loving, and they spent so much time with me and my kitties. My munchkins were well taken care of here and I always received the best advice and they never minded the millions of questions I asked. If my husband and I were not stationed elsewhere I would have loved to continue going to this hospital, it is one of the very few reasons I miss Virginia.

Dr. Johnson is amazing. He is very thorough and explains every step of every procedure.
