  • I would recommend this business

I've taken my dog to two different vets prior to finding BAH and have to say I'm impressed. Not only is the staff there super friendly, they are truly compassionate and that shows in their work. Dr. Johnson reaches out personally after every visit which means a lot to me as I've never received that type of care from another vet. I always leave feeling like my animal was taken care of, as was I, during the process.

Birdneck animal hospital is one of the best hospitals I have been to. Dr Johnson caught things that others vets did not, therefore I never had to worry or second guess his judgement. ALL of the staff is courteous, passionate, and loving, and they spent so much time with me and my kitties. My munchkins were well taken care of here and I always received the best advice and they never minded the millions of questions I asked. If my husband and I were not stationed elsewhere I would have loved to continue going to this hospital, it is one of the very few reasons I miss Virginia.

When we first get a puppy or kitten, we often are so amazed at how wonderful and beautiful they are that we wonder if we would want to breed them. There are some things to consider in making this decision. The first is population control. Do you want to be adding to the number of cats and dogs when so many are euthanized each day for lack of a home? Next, consider the amount of work and expense in properly raising multiple puppies or kittens. Even if you find homes for all of them, you will want to have them all examined by a veterinarian and have their first vaccines and deworming treatments done.

In your search for a Virgina Beach veterinarian or Virginia Beach Veterinary Hospital, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our commitment to you is to continue to offer our world class service and a state of the art veterinary facility. Pet's age much faster than humans and can hide signs of illness from their families. Therefore, it is important for them to receive a complete physical exam at least every six months.

Boarding your pet at Birdneck Animal Hospital has several advantages. By choosing a veterinary hospital, you are leaving your beloved friend in the hands of people who care about pets and are experienced in providing quality care. Boarding at our Virginia Beach Animal Hospital means you don't have to worry about your pets being fed on a regular schedule (as opposed to leaving them a giant bowl of food) or about having fresh water available at all times (as opposed to spilling the bowl of water you leave them at home).

Virginia Beach Pet Surgery is one of our specialties at Birdneck Animal Hospital. We believe that each and every pet is unique and should be provided with individual treatment. We offer kindhearted and considerate care for you and your pet here in our veterinary clinic. We have a fully equipped modern facility and our services include ultra-sounds, x-rays, and surgical lasers. We also provide vaccinations, flea and tick prevention and care, and dental and boarding services. Our pharmacy here on site saves you time and is conveniently located.

As everyone knows, pets age faster than humans. After their first year of life, cats and dogs age approximately 6 to 8 years for each of our years (their first year is like 18 of ours!). Therefore having a veterinary exam done on your pet every six months is like having an exam every 3 to 4 years. A lot can change in this amount of time. At the conclusion of every exam you will receive a REPORT CARD outlining the findings on physical exam. You will also be given written instructions on all recommendations and any medications to be administered.
