Services
Bethel Mill Animal Hospital is proud to work with many great rescues, some of which are Gloucester County's Save The Animals Foundation (STAF), Bullmastiff Rescue and Bulldog Rescue. We also support Street Tails Animal Rescue (STAR), who helps give special needs animals a fighting chance. We are PROUD to be the home Vet of "Lentil" the french bulldog who has become an "Ambassadog" for pets and children with cleft pallets.
Bethel Mill Animal Hospital received the prestigious AAHA accreditation in 2010. AAHA is considered the gold standard for hospitals to achieve. They inspect the facilities regularly and require very high standards for patient care, diagnostic capabilities, record keeping, and facility maintenance. Less than 10 animals hospitals in South Jersey are AAHA accredited.
As a new client of our practice, you can expect our full attention to your pet's needs. We will do our best to make sure you are brought into an examination room as soon as we have one available. Our goal is to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, but there will be times when the occasional unexpected delay due to an emergency occurs.
Avoid the dog days of summer by protecting your pet from parasites. Heart worms, fleas and ticks are all multiplying in the environment throughout the warm months and pose the threat of infestation and the spread of parasite related diseases. We can help you pick a preventive that fits your household needs, and can usually offer you free additional product or money saving rebates! Remember prevention is key to keeping your pet parasite and disease free. Also, remember that pets are susceptible to heat stroke.

I have been taking my fur babies to Bethel Mill for over 21 years. The staff and doctor's are wonderful! Even through COVID, they never let me down. I highly recommend Bethel Mill Animal Hospital for anyone who is looking for caring doctors and staff!

I went here based on a recommendation and I fully regret it. It was expensive, the staff was not friendly, and I feel that they didn't care much about my pet's needs. There are many other practices that are much more compassionate and way better all around.

Update 2/21/2022- still great. Kasper was diagnosed with diabetes last month. They have been very caring & professional. They complete a glucose curve interpretation from his sugar checks & update me as needed. He's doing well & we're all happy!

I have been taking my "Children" to Bethel Mill for over 25 years. Dr. Love is caring and compassionate. The techs all love my pets like their own. I am blessed to have this practice care for my dogs, who I believe are my children.

Recently and unexpectedly, I had to let my 8 month old kitten, Clementine, go shortly following an emergency visit. Dr. Zappacosta, Technician Lindsay, Assistant Faith, and Receptionist Leah all stayed after hours to allow my boyfriend to drive from work and be with Clem and I in her last moments. All of the staff members were so kind and so patient, and even though it was easily the worst outcome I could have imagined I am so grateful for the staff's kindness and support, and the chance to hold on to her for just a little bit extra time.

If and when I am ready for another kitten, I will absolutely be returning to Bethel Mill, the kindness this staff showed me and my little family in our hardest moment was incredible. As Dr. Zappacosta said during our visit there, they had to do right by her, and they absolutely did. Thank you for showing so much love to my angel, I'll never forget any of you or your impact.

My dog had an incident and ended up with a laceration the other day. I know that Bethel Mill is not an emergency vet but the accident happened right at their opening time and is very close to my house so I immediately decided to try my luck and flew my dog there as he needed immediate care. One of the front desk ladies angrily told me that a vet wasn't in the office to which I said sorry and explained that I just wanted to try since I wasn't even sure that my dog would make it on a 35 minute drive to our closest emergency vet.

The woman looked at me and said "Well it doesn't look like he's dying" as if she was annoyed or disrupted her morning. She said this to me as I was hysterically crying with my bleeding dog. I left and called another local vet while in the car and they were so caring. I've been a client of Bethel Mill for several years, but after this incident I immediately switched my vet.

As I said I understand that they aren't an emergency vet and if they were unable to treat my dog, but the way I was treated and spoken to alone was not okay under any circumstance.

I wish I could leave zero stars for this place. We've been taking our cats here for 15 years. Today, we took one of our cats in with respiratory concerns. Upon showing the technician videos, they stated "it's a cough." They then informed us that our cat needed a rabies vaccine in order to be treated. She is an indoor cat. At 15 years old, we'd like not to traumatize our cat with needles, especially since our main concern is respiratory related.

They took our cat away, back into the exam room. We gave no consent to draw blood or perform any sort of invasive or semi-invasive procedure. The doctor returned with our cat and immediately tried to push the rabies vaccine again. We stood firm by our choice, and told her that we will not be giving it to our 15 year old indoor cat. Immediately the doctor said "Did you want to leave?" Absolutely we do!

She also informed us that blood WAS drawn, and hasn't been "sent to the lab yet." We gave NO consent to draw our cats blood. They drew her blood, and wrapped it in a bandage and returned her to us. What happened to being unable to treat our cat without a vaccine? THEY DREW HER BLOOD. Needless to say, we will not be returning here after a loyal 15 years. We're extremely disappointed to know how poorly our cat was treated today.

I have been highly satisfied with the care my dogs receive at Bethel Mill Animal Hspt. Everyone from the office staff, the vet techs, and the highly qualified doctors is exceptional! It is well organized and provides appointment and treatment reminders in addition to the caring treatment of our pets. Even though the Covid 19 protocols will not allow us to accompany our pet to the visit, the caring techs do everything to ease the anxiety of the pet parents too!

The doctor calls you after the visit and provides an analysis of the examination & treatment and is very willing to answer any questions. The doctors will call you any time you have any questions. I give Bethel Mill an A+++! Being one of the "anxious pet parents" - i couldn't be more satisfied in all aspects!

Dr. Love and staff took great care of us. They answered any questions. Explained things thoroughly, sent reminders, recommended a great oncologist and ultrasound team to help my baby with cancer. So thankful to have found them near where I lived. So thankful for all the work they've done for us.

Bethel Mill Animal Hospital has been our pet's primary care veterinarian for 15 years. My family regularly takes in hospice animals and the staff at Bethel Mill provides excellent and affordable care. They are compassionate and honest. Unlike many practices, they are able to analize bloodwork and other tests on site within minutes. We will continue to take our pets there as long as their doors are open.
