Since 1960s, the veterinarians and support staff at Belton Veterinary Clinic have sought to achieve the highest standards of veterinary medicine. We feel that cats are part of the family, yours and ours. Our clients' response to the care we provide is the strongest testament to the quality of care we provide for their cats.
There may be a time when your cat will require a procedure or surgery for his continued health. At the time of surgery your cat will require anesthesia which will be carefully administered and monitored by our veterinary staff. Knowing the basics about how anesthesia will be is used in cat surgery and the recovery basics will help to ease your mind while kitty is under our care.
At Belton Veterinary Clinic, we understand that feline cancer is a devastating diagnosis. It is natural to feel highly emotional. However, a cat cancer diagnosis is not necessarily a hopeless one. Depending upon how early it is identified and the type of cancer involved, there are certainly options that can lead to very positive outcomes.

Rude staff that will easily get a tone with you. Even when you have been with them for years through mediocre service (Dad did not want to switch). We will be changing. Enough is enough.

Back in 2013 my pet required emergency care because she was going into diabetic shot. She was really small, 1.5 pounds. She stayed at the vet almost a week having IV treatments. That cost was under 200.00. Throughout the years cost for vaccinations have continued to go up however during COVID & after, this clinic has gouged people by excessive expenses.

They will not take a wall in without charging an emergency fee even if you take a pet during 8 to 5 Monday through Friday. My dog needed a tooth pulled. I took her in on a Saturday & paid $175 of which $75.00 was an examination, the rest was medicine & they didn't pull the tooth. Today, I took her in for the $225.00 dental cleaning(required to pull the tooth), & they tagged on "pre-surgery labs" at $85. & to give her IV fluids during the surgery at $75. Plus, if any teeth are pulled, each tooth will be charged. Pets are part of our families & we love them. It is sad that this business plays on that affection & sees how much money they can charge. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THESE VETERINARIANS.

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Eaton. Our newborn baby goat was (what he thinks) bitten in the eye by a snake. It was after hours and he was on call. I felt he was very thorough, compassionate & kind and the baby is doing great now. He even called the next week to check on her which we greatly appreciated.

Great customer service and prices aren't going to kill your wallet. My appt was 9:30 and before I could sit down I was already being called to the back. Highly recommend this vet, will most definitely be my go to from now on.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. First off, there was a $50/pet fee for their initial visit - I've never encountered that before. Secondly, when my husband took our pets there they tried to tell him our pets needed all these additional shots and he had to tell them no 2 or 3 times - stop trying to upsell us, we know what our pets need. Thirdly, they "forgot" to test their blood for heart worms even though they drew their blood and we had to take them back another day for another blood draw.

The FINAL straw was the fact they refuse to work with 1-800 pet meds & the doc who owns the clinic claims that they can't say for sure where 1-800 pet meds gets their medication because they could just "slap a label" on it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So here I am having to jump through these extra hoops to get my dog's heart worm medication. What a scam, I've never been this frustrated with a vet office before. 0/10 recommend

I brought my service dog to this vet for the first time yesterday. They were so very kind and accommodating! Everyone there loves animals and was so gentle with my dog. I wish I had gone to this center years ago. I think my dog is going to like the vet now! You won't be disappointed, these guys are so amazing.

The staff here loves animals. They will see just about any animal also. The prices are not the cheapest but they make up for it with the quality of care. They are very thorough but don't charge you for things you don't need. I appreciate that they give me options and let me choose instead of bullying me into things to get money.

1 hour wait time and $226 for 5 vaccines. Don't know if this is the new normal, but I don't enjoy it. Edit/ in response to owner there was NO exam done. The only thing the vet looked at was ONE of my dogs teeth and that lasted only a few seconds. That's it. So I paid $100 for the vet to look at Echo's teeth? My other dog was so fearful they could do nothing other than administer vaccines.

Good to know that the vaccines only cost $126 though. Pretty upset that $100 was tacked on for 'exams'. I won't be back because of this. I want to pay for services actually completed. Not services billed.

I quit going there for several years because it was always a 2 - 3 hour wait and very noisy and crowded. Since then, they now take appointments for everything except emergencies. Today was a great experience, appointment was on time or a bit early, everyone was very professional and pleasant. Will definitely take my 3 border collies and Yorkie terrier mix there for now on.

I took my dog here on Monday after the little guy was attacked by a larger dog and suffered a horrible leg break. The staff was super nice and attentive to our dog's condition. Dr. Moon was great! He gave us several options to treat our dog's injury and was very kind. Our overall experience was so outstanding that we've decided to make them our primary care clinic for both of our dogs. I recommend them to anyone who is serious about their pets medical needs.

This was my 1st visit here, and I must day, I was impressed! My foster, Lucky, had to go in for a follow-up, and from beginning to end, everyone was so nice! The facility is super clean and has no "dog" smell at all! Dr. Eaton was very kind and took lots of time to explain everything to me, and again on speaker with a rep from my foster group. If you're looking for a great vet, I highly recommend that you look no further.

I've never been happier with a vet. They are honest and won't do things just to take your money. One time I had to put my cat down, unexpectedly, and they were so thoughtful. They sent me his paw print, his fur, and a card signed by all employees. They truly care about what they do.

How I wish I had read the reviews before bringing my pets to Belton today. Since I was an old customer who had been there hundreds of times, I didn't think it would be necessary. I could not have been more clueless. I did not know that the practice was sold and, in so doing, lost all semblance of the practice it had been. Belton Vet Clinic used to be a country vet practice with very caring practitioners. Costs used to be reasonable and the care second to none.

After waiting 3 hours in my car and an hour in the exam room, I was greeted by a very young, snippy and exceptionally condescending vet. I was delivered a very sad and heartbreaking prognosis with no kindness at all. My two year old dog cried from pain the entire wait of four hours. I begged for pain relief. I left with tablet form medications after x-rays and medical tests.

Why couldn't my poor little dog have been given a pain injection upon intake? This was torturous treatment by a cold fish of a vet. Shall we speak about the charges? Is that too vulgar? Their charges went from 'country vet' to 'designer vet' I was even charged $20 for a test they were unable to run! RUN! RUN! RUN! I do not recommend this practice.

Never even had my pet seen as I came in for my appointment and there were soooo many animals in there it was like a zoo and giving me anxiety and my dog was shaking. I was told several people had quit and several doctors had left and just didn't get a good feeling and read the reviews. Not comfortable with leaving my dog there. They wanted $50 for an exam before the dental cleaning I don't know what they're going to do that they need to charge $50 for because it doesn't include bloodwork it's just to talk to you!

No thank you I went somewhere else! Went to Salado vet hospital! My usual nervous dog stopped his shaking when I carried him in to make an appointment and the front desk was very helpful and knew what they were doing and it was calm.

Turned me away and refused to see my dog even though I had an appointment that I made two weeks earlier. Claim they left a voicemail on my phone to reschedule, which they didn't, the only thing I had from them was a text message *confirming* the appointment the day before. Just lying to cover their a**, which is not what you want from people giving your pets medical care. I don't know what happened to them, they used to be good. I won't be back if this is how they're running their business now.

Listen up people.sadly Vets are a service where the staff know we need them and decided to treat patients with very little regard. 2 weeks ago I came in as a walk in because staff said come in before 3pm to be seen. I arrived at 8:30am. What they didnt say was i would have to wait till 4pm be seen. Had an appt today.still had to get put in as a walk in as a walk in. Arrived at 9:20am and dtill waiting with no updates or word as to when.

To boot. I was attacked by a dog in the waiting room, the dog actually broke skin.i was bleeding and the staff didnt even offer a bandaid.i had to ASK for it even tho i had blood dripping down my leg. WTF is going on here? This place is horrible. People. I hear the Salado clinic is faster, friendlier, and cheaper.

Nearly waited 4hrs for a progesterone test, gave me same excuse that they had medical emergencies that needed to be taken care of. Please they have horrible organization. Front desk operators have no clue about animals they will lie and tell you anything to keep you waiting. Use to be the best spot to bring your dog for vet needs now has turned into a circus show giving you the run around. I will need to look for a better clinic closer to Austin.

If you are thinking of taking your pets to Belton Veterinary Clinic over by the Bell Co Expo Center, don't. They have sold owners at least twice in the past few years and their quality has plummeted as a result. They are incredibly unorganized, they will nickel and dime you until your bill is ridiculous, and they are not knowledgeable on what they are doing.

I have a senior pet (13 years), and they did not know to do a senior examination on my pet instead instead of a routine visit. They also suggested that lab work and other preventative measures to explain issues was "there if we wanted it, " but completely missed an underlying condition that has been there for years and has gone untreated as such. I have been called and gotten voicemails from them numbering 4 in ten minutes, and the two technicians that would answer would contradict each other.

They did not know the dosage for my pet's medication AS THE DOCTOR, and would not give straight answers on treatments or best health. Their line is nearly out the door every time I go, and after they called me four times, I went and stood in line for 15 minutes while the technicians answered the phone, served people behind me and went about doing closing procedures instead of customer service.

Take your fur baby elsewhere, to someone who knows what they're doing and doesn't give you a choose-your-own-adventure that costs more than Super Bowl tickets. If I could give them 0, I would!

TL;DR Convenience doesn't outweigh poor quality and questionable ethics. Under the guise of safety, clinic owners are in direct opposition to national vet associations and all 50 state health services rabies vaccination standards for an obvious money grab. Our dogs including rescues have been under the care of BVC since 2016. Since this clinic was extremely close to home, had fair prices, and allowed walk-in visits, it seemed like a no-brainer. Unfortunately, we learned early on you would almost never see the same doctor twice as this clinic appears to be a revolving door for entry-level veterinarians. Still, for routine immunizations and heartworm, this wasn't a big deal. However, this became a problem with a belated dog when an ultrasound was misinterpreted.

This was rectified after seeking specialized care via Texas A&M School of Vet Medicine but still left a bad taste in our mouth. We value our dogs as members of our family and have spared little expense when it comes to their well-being. From ear infections to "extra" vaccinations like Bordatella and Influenza, we go out of our way to make sure our dogs are well cared for. However, their health maintenance was questioned at several points over the last few years leading to discussions with an office manager regarding their business practices.

Since 2011 rabies vaccinations in Bell County follow Texas State Health Services guidelines, every three years once rabies immunity is established, except at this clinic where they are required annually. This has been challenged by various groups over the years as "over-vaccinating." There is no credible argument for annual vaccination other than to draw in business more regularly to be upsold other procedures and treatments.

This clinic's owner is on record in 2009 fighting to keep the previous annual rabies standard but was ultimately defeated. The American Veterinarian Medicine Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), CDC, as well as all 50 states recommend rabies vaccination as every three years after one year of age. As stated by the Texas Department of Health Services "states which have changed to a three-year interval did not experience an increase in the number of rabid dogs and cats.

No correlation exists between a state's required vaccination interval and its incidence of rabid dogs and cats." It's unfortunate this clinic has chosen this hill to die on after thousands of dollars of veterinary care. Dr. David Joffrion was an absolute rock for our family during the euthanasia of our beloved dog. We will always be grateful for his compassion that day.

I called this morning to schedule a surgery appointment for my bulldog and the receptionist was so unbelievably rude. I had a couple schedule conflicts with the initial dates suggested for the surgery and then she gives the biggest attitude. This place was highly recommend to me because of the doctors, but there is no way I'm going to drive over an hour to this place and entrust them with my pet after this type of interaction.ridiculous.

Not a welcoming place. Receptionists we're extremely rude. Called was told they do walk ins only on the day I showed up they wouldn't see our pets I Was told they needed an appointment. This place is not organized at all and have no idea what they're doing. Taking my pets somewhere else.

First of all I don't like to be made to feel like YOU'RE doing ME a favor when I patronize your business. Secondly I've been bringing cows here for about a year. I've noticed the customer service standards slowly eroding during that period of time. That said, I have found great satisfaction with the vets with whom I've worked (Dr Moon and Dr Lord to be exact).

Despite the dwindling standards of common courtesy I've remained a customer due to the interactions I've had with the large animal vets. The lack of front of house customer service is shockingly poor.

This place used to be great. Good staff and reasonable prices. Been waiting over 2.5 hours just for shots. I thought about boarding here for an upcoming vacation but this level of service really makes me question their ability to serve customers and pets both. They're clearly understaffed.

I have been a customer for years because I really liked the fast service as much as the quality. However, as most people are saying the wait is REALLY long. And from my experience today, they know people are complaining but they keep doing the same thing. Clearly, are giving us all the finger in the eye saying they don't give a flying fig. The kicker is they are not doing us any favors, they still charge us for their services.

So my story: I called ahead of time asking for them to help me by coming to get my dogs for me because I am handicapped. They were like sure no problem. I called and checked in when I got there. After sitting there for over an hour, I asked one of the techs who was walking past my car about how long she thought it would be. She said I was next in line for vaccines.but an hour later still no call. So, I call and politely call ask how much longer, should I come back a different day?

I am told should not be more than 20 mins. Oh ok, now we are making progress, right? An hour later, over 3 hours now, I call again.longer story short I am told they misplaced my papers. Clearly, someone was passively aggressively teaching me a lesson. But this time for sure I am next in line.30 mins later. I would never treat anyone like this, much less, a long term customer.

I waited over 4 hours yesterday to be seen and had to eventually leave because I ran out of time and had to go to another appointment. When I canceled they still called me saying they were ready for my dog 2 different times after I kept saying I already canceled him and was coming back today. Well now I was the 3rd person in line and have been here since 730am and it is currently 0902 and I have FOUR people in front of me still which doesn't add up.

My dog only needs medical records vaccine records and his medicine for my upcoming plane flight. I have already brought him in a little over a month ago and was told I would just have to come back when it's time to fly out and pick up the paperwork but instead I'm up to 6 hours waiting total since yesterday. Never had issues before even during the pandemic when everything was vehicle only so I'm not understanding where the confusion or hold up is coming from now.

This place is horrible! The staff is absolutely rude and obnoxious. Early in 2020 I was there when a lady had her dog dying and in pain, waiting in the waiting room, and every one of the staff did nothing to help this poor lady and her dog. My last two visits I waited over two hours for my dog to be seen by a vet. My last and final visit I waited three hours and when I asked what was going on the staff was absolutely obnoxious. Never again, this place has gone down hill and I'll warn anyone I come in contact with about this place.

My experience is beyond believable and I don't want to write anything negative about what I've gone through.so I strongly recommend/urge you to read the ratings that are lowest to get a resoundingly clear idea so that you can make a wise choice for yourself and your beloved pets. God bless you all.

Two appointments with two big boxers. I like the almost drive thru feature. Drive to rear, check in with tech, roll to front. Tech came to retrieve pups. Dr. Turner called me as I waited in the lot to give the low down. Healthy, good teeth, update on rabies, we are all good. Masked up. Socially distance Fair price for exam and inoculations. Thanks guys!

Awesome people! Very convenient walk in service, and fair pricing. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything needed for my pup I adopted from the shelter the same day. Even made time to help his poor little body ridden with fleas by giving him a bath. Such a shame the shelters provide no medical care or even a bath. Poor dude was ridden with fleas and filth, and staff welcomed us with open arms and got him feeling much better. Thanks y'all!

I just posted photos of my dear sweet 14 year old pomeranian Sadie. I came early to the vet on a monday morning. Waited in the waiting room for the doctors to arrive. I sat there with my dog dieing in my arms, NO ONE MADE IT A PRIORITY TO GRAB A DOCTOR FOR HER. We waited until 15 minutes after 8am to be seen. The vet said she need to look at Sadie and was going to take her back.

The Vet asked me to leave and told me she'd call me. Not more that 30 minutes later I get a call saying she was gone. WTH? At 5 am she was fine. At 8 am she was gone? I felt like I had left my baby and didn't get to be there with her in her last moments, she had been struggling to breathe the whole time. AND WE WERE NOT A PRIORITY! Never again will I take another animal there. Be careful how you treat people when they are losing an animal. I watched you people look at me crying and you did nothing!
