Dr. Trainor is amazing, she is a kind, caring and a very thorough internist. She took great care of my Lily and definitely made it worth the drive out there. The staff was also very kind and helpful with my many calls and appointments and tests. I definitely recommend them, and would make the trek out there again if necessary Unfortunately my girl passed, but Dr. Trainor and staff were extremely compassionate and caring during this heartbreaking time.

Unfortunately, we recently lost our dog, Abby, and Atlantic Coast did their best to soften the blow as much as they could. They acted with the utmost professionalism taking care of our scared pup, and have since sent us wonderful ways to remember her, with an additional surprise paw print. They went above and beyond for us in such a difficult time and we greatly appreciate it. We are no less sad for our loss, but are glad to have such beautiful memorials, as we were able to bring her home, along with her paw print.

Brought our dog into the emergency office here. Poor boy had a seizure in the car as we were on the phone with them and by the time we got him out of the car, staff was already outside in the lot looking for us. Everyone was extremely kind, understanding, and most of all patient (No matter how busy they were). Very up front and transparent about pricing and did their best to explain absolutely everything.

The staff here made one of the worst days ever as bearable as they could. Especially Brett, who was so very kind, empathetic, and professional above all else. (Thank you Brett!) If you want a vets office to treat your pet like their own, look no further.

Worst ER for animals. Tonight, My husband took our cat who had been vomiting most of the day, but acting normally, over here because it's was the closest and had some decent reviews and we felt at this point it was warranted for him to be seen instead of waiting for our normal vet tomorrow. Boy, had we'd known that both my husband and my cat would be sitting in the car waiting for THREE HOURS with NO communication from the front desk except when my husband went in to use the restroom and purchase from the vending machine only THEN to be told "oh we had two critical cases come in and we are heading into a procedure now, " we absolutely wouldn't of wasted three hours at an "emergency vet" that has now left our cat lethargic because he hasn't drank or ate anything in quite some time.

We fully understand that it is the weekend, most places are understaffed, but the lack of compassion, professionalism, and just straight up communication from this "business" leaves much to be desired. When my husband called back to again, ask how long the wait was and was told they just got approval for some procedure, he asked why he wasn't informed so he was able to get the necessary care for our cat that's warranted and the receptionist had no answer.

Straight up trash. Shame on this place for not keeping their clients or soon to be clients up to date and letting them know perhaps there may be other hospitals that can help them in a more timely manner. Definitely will be thinking twice about ever needing the help of this place should the need arise. off to another hospital with by far 3/4 of the wait time than this place. Updated to add: it's been over two hours (left Atlantic at 8pm and arrived at selden animal hospital to a wonderful staff who took us in right away) and currently 10:37pm and Atlantic still has not called my husbands phone to see if we needed their services.

Very professional. Update (2): at 11:38, as well are being discharged from selden, Atlantic finally called my husbands phone telling him he could be seen now. He arrived at 5:39. Six hours later they finally would of seen our cat who is on his way home SAFE and cared for. Absolutely disgusting.

The staff are amazing! They were all knowledgeable and friendly. From the front desk to the Surgeons, everyone made us and our pet feel welcome. They're open 24/7 which is great for me as our pets always seem to have an issue outside of regular business hours. I highly recommend them for emergencies. Not sure I'd replace my regular Veterinarian with them due to it being an Animal hospital.

I guess it'd be like going to the Emergency Room for a checkup. Then again, since this is my first visit with them, I'm not sure if they do schedule for anything but an emergency. The facility is clean and attractive. It's one of the nicest places I've seen and am very comfortable bringing my pets there.

My pup who I've had for 15 years passed away in January. I paid $600 for her to be put to sleep, privately cremated, and put into a cute little dainty urn that I picked. She was dainty and most definitely a girly girl. The vet uses a company called Final Gift for their cremation services. This company stopped using the urn I had picked out and instead of informing me they put her into one that I didn't pick out.

When I informed the vet they said I could call the vendor myself. What a slap in the face during a very difficult time. I would not recommend this vet or the vendor that they use. I can't express how hurt I am by their lack of regard for my sweet girl.

Spent 6 hours here last night. Wait was pretty long, but it was a rough night for some other owners. They are in my prayers, but the doctor was a woman who mentioned she was from Tennessee and lived upstate. I forgot her name but at 1am, she was still super nice and helpful despite having a rough night. Add all the front desk staff too. Everyone here is amazing, despite the rigorous work and hours they deal with.

Give all these people a raise! I couldn't recommend this place more though. If you do come and it isn't life threatening - bring phone chargers! But thanks to all the wonderful staff here, my dog is feeling a lot better now. May the lord bless all of you!

They are very under staffed to the point where it took me 4 hours waiting before I could leave my cat there and check him into the hospital, they did take him right away though I was just waiting to speak to the vet. They said I could stop by and see him anytime but to call ahead and I did that but still had to wait over an hour before I actually got to see him.

They did call and give detailed explanation of everything going on and got my clearance for all costly procedures. Overall I felt my cat was cared for well and they did the best they could for him which to me is what really matters. Sadly we ended up having to say goodbye to him but they made it as okay as possible and sent sympathy letters and called personally to express condolences which was great appreciated.

Outstanding veterinarian hospital! We brought our pup here do to DKA, they were quick and responsive on ensuring she had the absolute best care. The doctors who worked with us provided the best guidance, the techs did everything they could to ensure she was well taken care of and watched during her hospital stay. The ladies at the receptionist desk also took our call with professionalism and provided us quick answers with any questions we had. We will only take our girl to this clinic from now on! Thank you all for the love and support! She is still with us due to your amazing care!

So disappointed with my first (and last) experience with this place! I called and spoke with an employee about a potential emergency situation with my puppy. After her confirming that he should be seen, I headed to the hospital. Upon arrival, the doors were locked, which wasn't surprising given covid, but when I called from outside, I was told that they were closed. CLOSED?

A 24 HOUR VET EMERGENCY HOSPITAL? The woman then explained they had an emergency and had to close to tend to that emergency. I'm no doctor, of people nor pets, but I would imagine that they deal with emergencies all day/night long. that IS their business right! Well, evidently not. They refused to see my pup who was having his own emergency but luckily I came across VEG hospital in Commack. I will never go (back) to Atlantic Coast. Find another place!

I brought my dog for an urgent visit. I was so pleased with the staff and doctor. It was a very upsetting time for me. They put my mind at ease. The were upfront and honest. They assured me that he could wait to be seen by his own vet the next day. He was not in any immediate danger.

Vet tech was AWFUL! Rude & rushing. completely UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE! I brought in a cat that was having severe dyspnea, it needed to be put to rest. was struggling, . frail, weak, could not eat, walk. I handed them the cat at the desk, was walked to a room down a dark hallway, took 2 hours to be told that "I should have X-rays" by a Vet tech that basically was in a big rush for me to sign the consent for it.after "an exam(?), vitals, oxygen, an inhaler & steroid injection given.to rule out an asthmatic issue.

I was told that he was "doing better" with the treatments. I declined the X-rays. I asked to see the cat for myself, was rudely told I "cannot go back there" I left there Hours later, WITH THE CAT STILL STRUGGLING. only to be euthanized at my own vet immediately in the morning. This staff was rude, uncaring, completely unprofessional. I felt like they only want to rob you of lots of money for diagnostics. & CANNOT MAKE AN EXPERIENCED CLINICAL DECISION or RESPECT SOMEONES DIFFICULT DECISION TO DO WHATS BEST FOR THE ANIMAL

We brought my elderly cat there for diagnostic testing in very grave condition. We'd tried another emergency veterinary hospital in the area and we couldn't even get anyone on the phone. Atlantic Coast took us very quickly. Although they couldn't save our cat, they were completely professional, respectful and caring. We probably should have put the cat down a day sooner than we did, but they gave us the time to make our own decision. They are quite expensive, though, but I think that's the same everywhere.

Took my cat here after she had a choking episode. She was bought in to be seen by first the nurse to take her vitals and my cats vitals were stable and then I was informed that the doctor couldn't see her for a few hours due to being short staffed. I decided to not wait the hours for the doctor as my cat showed normal vital signs and no more signs of distress.

The reason why I give them 3 stars is because they said if she was to he seen by the doctor, it would be 150 dollars and then x-rays were going to cost 400 plus dollars and then more money for any other meds or treatments. Prices are insane, but I suppose it would be the same as every other emergency medical hospital. The nurse was very nice though and the woman at the front desk was nice.

Even though I didn't take any of their services, I respect them and if I have any other emergencies (that I really do have to pay their prices) I would get their services. But I do think they need more staffing so people shouldn't have to wait hours to see a doctor. Also, their office is very clean and nice.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS HORRIBLE FARMINGDALE LOCATION. Not only are they insensitive they are WAY OVERPRICED. If you bring a stray animal that you find they do not care! My daughter rescued a kitten on the parkway. The kitten was brought to this location and we were told that the price would be at least $7000 to keep her in the hospital there for a couple of days for oxygen because she was in the rain when she found her. Are you kidding me!

Seven thousand dollars for a few nights on oxygen. They wanted $500 for an x-ray of the lungs to see if it had pneumonia. We could not afford the $7000 and my daughter was heartbroken. They were not willing to do any better on the price! No compassion for strays! They had told us that if the kitten does not get put down they would put it up for adoption if it got better.

When we called this morning they told us that they were not allowed to give us any information because we couldn't pay their price so we have no right to adopt it! I never heard such craziness in my entire life. I have many animals and we are big animal lovers and have never been treated this way. They couldn't even give my daughter closure even though I told them how upset she was and they told us that even if the cat was being put up for adoption we didn't have the right to adopted it because we couldn't pay.

The only time they spoke to us was about the price. They were are all about money not about the kitten. Do yourself a favor and take your pet somewhere else. When I told the receptionist that I was going to put a review on this website she told me to knock myself out! Can you believe the rudeness. Channel 12 will be happy to hear about this. They couldn't even give the common courtesy of telling us if the cat was up for adoption or they had to put it down.

And also they charge $25 for a rectal temperature. Really! Just insane do not go here if you don't want to be heartbroken. There are many more competent vets to take your animal to. Do yourself a favor and do not go here. Run. And another thing there was no supervisor there or manager and I asked 3 times for the manager to call me and never got a call! Horrible Kathy

This place is HEARTLESS. Do not bring your pet here. There's no caring for your pets. This is the worse hospital and the worse experience I ever had. They showed no compassion at all. I took my dog for a follow up visit and few hours later my dog pass away. My dog was diagnosed with congestive heart failure with others complications. Many medication was given to treat the problem.

After few weeks of treatment we noticed that he was having labored breathing. We called the Atlantic Coast Hospital to make an appointment with Dr. Williams. She added more medication and suggested to follow up in two weeks to see if he was doing better. Actually he was doing better, he was running around playing with others and feeling happier. On his follow up visit, we dropped him off and they told us that they will call us once they were done.

When I picked up the dog he was so scared, he was having a fit, and he couldn't breathe at all. I brought him home thinking that this will go away. After 3 hours I called the hospital and asked to speak with the Dr. Williams to let her know what was happening with my dog. The receptionist told me that Dr. Williams was busy and that she told me to read the diagnosis given to me earlier. "Are you kidding me" she couldn't come to the phone or at least call me in an hour.

This was an emergency. My dog was having heavy labored breathing and couldn't be calmed. I tried to calm him as much as I could. Few hours later my dog passed away. I was shocked to see him like this. If the doctor would have called me he would be alive now. I called the next day to tell them that my dog passed away and that I would like to file a complaint. Dr. Kramer, the head of the hospital called me a few days later, towards the end of the week.

He was no help at all. I told him that I was not happy with Dr. Williams message and performance and that I wanted all my money back. Money was not going to bring my loved one back, but at least they were not keeping the money from the visit and Lab work which came to $ 533.00. He agreed and told me to call their accounts payable department person for the credit.

One week went by and I never saw the full credit on my account. After calling and leaving several messages I finally got through to someone about the credit and they told me that they only refunded $150.00 for the kidney panel only. Do not use this hospital. Try someone else. Martha Schindler

After a TWO hour wait in the parking lot, we had another hour wait before they presented us with a bill. During that hour, we had one tech take down the details of my cat's problem (also taking her temperature and weight) and a doctor came in to listen to her heart & palpate her belly. We consented to xrays, although we were told that even though this is an emergency hospital, there was no one to do a sonogram until Monday (this is Saturday).

We then waited an exorbitant amount of time for someone to come in and present a bill of over $1,000.00. For an xray. The tech explained it was also for bloodwork, even though we declined bloodwork as it was done four days ago (as if that made the price acceptable). We walked out. With a sick pet. Which is heartbreaking. Because the whole purpose of a 24/7 emergency animal hospital is to care for pets in an emergency when you can't get to your regular vet. Now, don't get me wrong: I'm not adverse to paying a reasonable amount for a service.

But the rooms looked shabby, the people seemed uncaring, the wait was unreasonable, and I felt the whole time like no one was really listening to me -as evidenced by the bloodwork fee. It's a real shame that people who are in a vulnerable state with a sick pet are treated this way. Perhaps I went in an "off" day. I hope so. But not one person made me feel as if they were paying attention to my cat.

That's a problem. UPDATE FOUR DAYS LATER: We had to put our cat to sleep this afternoon. Condescending remarks rather than a real apology just adds to a few REALLY bad days. VCMLI in West Islip seemed to think she needed immediate care that night (Saturday) and removed 600ml fluid from her belly. Unfortunately, she had mesenteric carcinotosis and the treatment was only to make her more comfortable.

The entire treatment, including bloodwork, was less than $900. I understand Covid employment issues. I don't understand a lack of attention/compassion from the employees that we encountered or an excessive price for an X-ray and emergency visit.
