Services
Due to the pandemic we are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our staff and clients. We are allowing human guests in the hospital to discuss your pets history and create a plan with the doctor. All other communication will be done via curbside service. Internal Medicine and Dentistry are by appointment only.
Radiographs (x-rays) are the most common imaging modality used to diagnose disorders in companion animals. At AVS, we use digital radiography which allows for easier collaboration with your regular veterinarian, radiologists and other referral hospitals. The radiographs can be evaluated by a board certified radiologist as deemed appropriate by your veterinarian.
Laparoscopy involves the placement of a port, usually 5 mm in diameter, into the abdomen to allow insertion of a camera (laparoscope). The camera is used to visualize the contents of the abdominal cavity. Typically, one or two additional ports are placed to allow insertion of instruments, such as a probe or biopsy forceps.

I have never been so grateful for care before ever.! I believe everyone has read reviews or had past experiences with their pets and the dreaded emergency room which from the past two years is horrific as we were not able to go in and see our babies. I just took my other dog to two recently VSS and AEC and thats a diff review(not good at all). I didn't know of anywhere and I was on my way to AEC again even though they charged so much and didn't even give my baby fluids or comfort for fever and dehydration (another review), I pulled over and something made me contact avs, I spoke to a young lady on 7/18 after my dog while playing running after the neighbors sprinkler in the early morning and I saw him fall while jumping at the sprinkler, later that day couldn't even put his rear leg down, I saw him fall out and drag his leg coming to me and he's a 2 year old American bully(bigger$$$) when he began to whimper and whine and yelp out I lost it. initial communication at the vet sometimes tells us a lot and the young lady I spoke to was so nice and even made small talk trying to alleviate my level of worry. she stayed on the call with me until I pulled up and came out in no time and was so friendly.

I mentioned this was the er we know this is not normal. I was afraid as I read recent reviews here mentioning not being able to go inside. not true, they take your baby initial assessment and then you are able to come inside and consult with the vet. I had a younger vet that I spoke with bedside manner very good. He gathered needed info from me told me what he wanted to do(not trying to take your money).

My dog blown his ACL, so I believe its CCL. devastated but the vet showed compassion by mentioning when his dog at the same age tore theirs and he broke everything down to show empathy. He gave the options and mentioned ideas of where to go and what to watch out for. I was very happy I took my dog here. While checking out there were three young ladies that worked that late eve that were phenomenal and so sweet and nice to my baby.

I remember years ago I took my chihuahua there and I couldn't remember which ER, I remember a very nice vet there and now I remember which facility. I will only take my dogs there. I have never in the 13 years of having experience with one dog now my other had experience such as that at an ER. we all know what I am talking about. its so much going on and I understand they are overwhelmed especially with short staffing now, but it means a lot when our babies cannot tell us what's going on. I don't care how far you live from AVS, when I mention a fair, compassionate, caring place. I stand on that. I thank them for the care given.

This place took amazing care of our Beloved Sparkle kitty when she needed end of life care. They made sure my kids and I did not have to rush with our grieving and were compassionate. At this point all vets were booked up 3 weeks out and we could not let her suffer and be in pain any more. Thank you very much.

Horrible communication. I received one set of information from the doctor, then when I was called about the medication, there was an extra prescription on there that was not a part of my conversation with the doctor. The person on the phone talked in circles and was not at all helpful. It is impossible to get a hold of anyone there unless you select the option that you are in the parking lot.

The internal medicine voicemail states that if you call during business hours they return your call in the same day. All of my calls have been returned 24+ hours after a voicemail. I'd recommend a different specialist vet. I will never be back. Absolutely horrific service. The office manager was extremely rude.

They are very compassionate and reasonable. Had to take our dog here twice for stomach issues after our normal vet was closed. AVS was quick and helpful both times. Both times sent home with medicine to make her feel better, and at good prices. The first time she got an IV and some fluids, plus 3 medicines to take home; $230. This time just exam and 2 meds; $160.

Which I find very inexpensive for emergency services. Both times the tech and Dr herself called to explain what was going on and went out of their way to explain the medicine and what it should help with. Only issue is they STILL don't allow anyone inside with their pet. Don't like that at all. Hopefully it changes soon. Picture of Pippy resting for reference.

This team is amazing. Even when they are busy, when it's your pet's turn they dedicate their full attention and time to you and your pet. They answer all your questions as thoroughly as you need. They make sure you have enough information to make an educated decision for your pet and don't judge you on how much you can or can't afford. From the Drs to the receptionists and techs I can't say enough good things. We will be forever grateful for them helping bring our cat home alive. Thank you AVS team!

We had to bring our daughter's cat in to be "put down". We couldn't have asked for a nicer group of people to handle this unfortunate situation. They were very professional but also caring and understanding at the same time. Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience but the folks working at the time helped make it much better than it could have been.

I thank everyone there for the services they provide, and more importantly, their understanding, patience, and personal touch! If you ever need to use their services for any reason, I HIGHLY recommend them!

After a useless trip to out vet, AV was able to offer a sad diagnosis for our suddenly not well dog, Molly. Just a few days later we returned with Molly for our final goodbyes, outside in back on a blanket covered picnic bench. We are grateful for the compassionate staff and more relaxed environment afforded for our beloved dog in her final moments.
