Services
At the Animal Health Clinic in Fargo, it is our goal to provide the best possible service to you, our client, and the highest quality veterinary care to your pet, our patient. We want to serve clients who desire this level of care for their pet. We are proud to be American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited since 1979.
Upon check in you and your pet will be greeted by one of our friendly Front Office Support Specialists. We love giving treats to pets, so please let us know if there are any allergies we should be aware of. As part of our Fear Free practices, we use species-specific pheromones to produce a calming effect in your pet.
Gizmo usually shakes at his vet visits and did at the beginning but during the visit got very comfortable and was even wagging his tail and jumped on the chair showing he was very comfortable. This was his first visit using the [Adaptil] ribbon. It definitely seemed to help! Huge difference for my 'wild man' Sam.
The health and happiness of our patients and their families are our number one priority here at Animal Health Clinic. When we make an appointment, it is reserving the veterinary staff's time. With veterinary services being in high demand and when a client does not come to their scheduled appointment without providing proper notice, it is taking away the opportunity for another patient's health care needs to be met.

The staff are all very understanding and fantastic! When I adopted my cat, I knew we would be coming to Animal Health Clinic after the fabulous care they showed for my guinea pigs! I honestly cannot recommend the staff enough

The best vet in town! I have come here with hamsters, ferrets, and now an adorable but reactive good girl named Maddie. Even before they were certified they have treated her with such kindness and respect. They have worked with us endlessly with meds, happy visits and advice to make sure Maddie gets the care she needs with as little trauma as possible.

I'm blown away by the change in Maddie's demeanor at the office. If you're looking for a vet that just gets everything done in one visit regardless of the dog's fear this is NOT the place. If you love your fur baby and hate to see them trembling and afraid, you will not find better care than Animal Health Clinic.

We visited Dr. Dill for our Congo African Grey. Dr. DILL was very informative and helpful, offering great tips and care information. He was also very good with our parrot! Highly recommend Dr. Dill at this clinic.

I have two dogs and one is a talkative anxious kiddo. The front lobby is gorgeous and clean. The front staff are professional and informative. The medical team were on point and very accommodating for my dogs' anxiety. The medical check was thorough and affordable. I was grateful to find a good medical team for my dogs after our recent move.

I was initially happy and impressed with my first visit. The Doctor seemed to genuinely want to work with me for the care of my two dogs. I scheduled some very expensive (almost $1,000) but routine x-rays to screen my dog's hips, elbows, and shoulders. The original appointment was set for February 1st. That appointment was cancelled by AHCFargo with essentially no notice, because I wanted to add one extra x-ray.

I could have gone without that x-ray, but due to the short notice of the cancellation, I never had a chance to offer that option. The x-ray appointment was rescheduled for 2/23, when the x-rays were taken and sent to the OFA (which is an organization that certifies vet x-rays among other things.) Two weeks later, I called OFA to get a status report, only to find out that the original digital x-ray files were corrupted and nobody had told me.

I contacted AHCFargo to have them resent, which they did on March 10th. On March 15th, I emailed OFA to be sure that they got the new x-ray files. OFA confirmed on March 16th that they did receive the new x-rays, but would not be able to use them because they contained no identification information for my dog. I contacted AHCFargo on the morning of March 17th to have the x-rays resent.

The person on the phone said they spoke to the head vet tech and that it would be fixed and resent the same day. On March 18th (the very next day), I called AHCFargo to verify that the images had been properly labeled and resent. Unfortunately, after looking in my file, the person on the phone still did not seem to know what I was talking about or have any idea that this was supposed to have been fixed the day before. Supposedly, she is going to look into it and call me back later this morning. But, there have been at least 2 occasions where someone at AHCFargo was supposed to call me back and never did. So, I'll believe it when it happens.

I only gave them two stars because the staff is genuinely pleasant. However, I had high hopes for this place after my first visit, but it has been a continuous downhill spiral every since then. I'm just really disappointed in how poorly this has been handled.and is still being handled. :(

Everyone here is very professional and I think they handle the workload well for how busy they are. The doctors we've had seem to be very knowledgeable and always seem to genuinely love our pets. It's nice to know that they legitimately treat your fur babies like they are their patient and not just some animal you bring in.

I'm just so happy and grateful for the help I received from Dr Dill and the staff at AHC. My baby Neon Day Gecko suddenly became ill and they told me I could drop him off right away. While I was filing out the paperwork in the lobby, Dr Dill stated he could see us immediately. My little Neon is extremely tiny and delicate, and Dr Dill was so gentle and able to perform a full examination and get a mouth swab too.

All the advice Dr Dill gave was spot on. Neon has improved so much even after a few days. I'm sure I would have lost him without Dr Dill's advice and the antibiotic for his pneumonia. If you have a reptile/exotic pet, I highly recommend calling AHC.

This place is amazing! Had my first appointment today and I couldn't believe how great the service is! They really take care of you. Dr. Striegel took the time to answer all my questions and in detail. Anyone else I spoke to also made sure all my concerns were addressed, as well. I just moved here from LA, so I tend to have LA thinking about things sometimes.

I was worried about them trying to get the most money out of me. like anywhere in LA would do. NOPE! They actually SAVED me money. My cats have ear mites and I don't have to pay for another exam to get a refill on my medication for them. You literally would have to call 100 places in LA to find a gem like this! I will be using them from now on for all my kitty needs! Thank you!

Just wanted to say that we just took our new shy and fearful rescue dog, Maggie, in yesterday and, as always, the clinic staff were awesome. Gentle, kind, and thorough. Thank you for helping in her transition to her furever home!

Dr. Striegel is absolutely the best! We brought our last dog to him and are now bringing our new puppy. He's very gentle and our super skittish older dog was very fond of him. He offers a lot of comprehensive health information that's really easy to understand. It's been great to have such a nice vet to give us good information on how to give our dogs the best life possible! Every single staff member we've ever met there has been no less than friendly, helpful, and gentle with our pets. Thank Animal Health Clinic!

The office staff offers the worst customer service. Anytime you go to a vet you are paying atleast 100 or more. Thats a given but when you sit at a desk all day and talk on the phone you should atleast be nice to the people who take off work and bring in their sick pets. My appointment was cancelled and i was not notified. And the only solution was to reschedule. Horrible customer service and the reason i got was they were short handed.

So my appointment was cancelled because they were short handed and i wasnt notified. Also not to mention my previous visit i was told not to worry my dog would be fine and he wasn't so they didnt want to see him. Please find another vet in the FM area do yourself that favor. Lackluster office staff and sketchy vets.

This was the first time I've ever had to bring a pet into a for a check up. My cat Meow does not like being out of her environment, but the staff made her feel comfortable. They were quick and explained everything they were doing and what I can do to keep Meow healthy. And reasonably priced too. Definitely bringing her back for her next checkup.

We lived in Fargo for 2 years and put 2 cats to sleep following the care offered by Dr Dill. He was too busy preparing to go on vacation to see Ethel who died the next day at the ER. They charge an extra fee if an appointment goes over schedule and Dr Dill sure loves to talk. What a scam. Did not find one good vet in Fargo and this overpriced place is one of the worst.

Oh and ALL of the vet owners share ownership in the ER too. Another scam. My post is written on Feb 11, 2017. Let's see how long before it is removed for exposing the truth. My advice to pet owners is: RUN!

My cat had been sickly lately and I was very worried about my lil Phantom cat! I asked a few friends where they go and the majority of them said Animal Health Clinic so I called and found out there were no openings but I could get her in as an emergency case if I wanted to go that route.of course I did because she is my baby and it hurts me to see her sick!

I took her in and the front desk people were all friendly and helpful and showed concern for Phantoms condition. After doing the paper work it couldn't have been 5 minutes and Phantom was being checked over by a Vet Tec and I was explaining what the issues were. Shortly after that the Vet was in to see us and she examined Phantom and asked me questions about how Phantom has been acting lately.

After examining her and hearing about how she has been acting the Vet said that her hunch was that Phantom is diabetic, but she wouldn't know with out running some lab work. So I left my baby in the hands of complete strangers and waited for them to call me with the diagnosis. Later that afternoon the Vet called and confirmed her suspicions that it was indeed diabetes that has been making my baby so sick.

So to shorten this up some I returned to the clinic and was taught how to inject Insulin into my baby twice a day, got her on some special food and now Phantom is back home where she belongs and I'm so grateful to the staff at Animal Health Clinic for taking such good care of my baby and showing me how to do the injections and also reassuring me that with proper treatment and diet my lil Phantom can live a normal life.

This was my worst experience here at the clinic. First time and last time thankfully that we moved. The doctor was supposed to sign a health certificate to help us get our cats on a plane. I called 7 days in advance, however the doctor was out on vacation and no one could back him up to help out. No support. It took me until the day before to pick up the certificates and when I got to the clinic, the receptionist Amy was not in the mood to help and she didn't know how to explain my the medicine for my cats.

They even had my doses for each cat backwards until addressed it. And the certificates were not completed filled out. She then said just read the instructions like she did. She was so unhelpful and she didn't want either be working today or what. She was pissed that she had to help me. She doesn't need to be working there clearly.

This clinic is very thorough and very focused on the animals they care for. We bring our two dogs there. Initially we were very happy with the clinic staff but not with the vet that we saw. After a couple initial visits we found the vet that we really love, Dr. Ness, so we just always request to see her. While one dog fears the trip to the vet clinic and the other loves loves it, Dr. Ness does an excellent job with both of them and communicating with us.

She is very knowledgeable, and I always feel like she cares about my dogs as much as she would her own. The clinic is very clean, well-staffed, organized, and on-top of everything. The clinic staff are always very friendly and helpful and ready with treats. They also respect that different dogs have different personalities and needs, and they treat all in a welcoming way.

Sometimes it might seem like they go over-board with unnecessary tests, but once you establish care with the right vet, you can find the right level of care that you pet needs there.

Our two bulldog puppies LOVE coming here! The staff here is friendly and helpful, and they remember my wife and I and our dogs- meaning they remember our puppies' history. In a very brief amount of time they made us feel like we have a real relationship with them, and that they're invested in our dogs' health. Our association with Animal Health Clinic started with an emergency visit (our male puppy hurt his shoulder and something quickly spread throughout his system), but they were able to squeeze him in when our previous vet couldn't and/or wouldn't.

Little Marvin was in a great deal of pain, and the fear was that it was spreading to his spinal cord. His mobility got worse and worse by the hour, until he couldn't even turn his head. Dr. Parson may very well have saved his life- just by being willing to squeeze him in. (My wife crying might've helped gain some sympathy.) We tend to stick with Dr. Parsons, and she's great with both our puppies.

When we were looking at spays and neuters, she provided us with a variety of options, letting us pick our price point. And while we had one of our female pups' nares opened up, Dr. Parsons was very good about saying it was just the one that concerned her and she didn't try to talk us into a bunch of extra, costly work in the name of prevention.

That first visit made us repeat customers, but the way we've been treated every time since then has earned our loyalty. I highly recommend Animal Health Clinic, and Dr. Parsons in particular.

I love this clinic and Dr. Dill in particular. We lived in Grand Forks and needed a vet for our sugar gliders. Dr. Dill came up in a search for exotic pet vets, so we went to see him. I was hoping to find a closer vet to us and not have to drive to Fargo for all appointments, but I was so impressed with Dr. Dill that it made the drive worth it. We have taken our pets to him many times since then.

We don't live in ND anymore, otherwise we'd still be going there for sure. Dr. Dill always listened closely to what we were telling him about our pets and was always very gentle with them. I thought they were very reasonably priced as well. He took the time to explain different treatment options to us and never ever tried to pressure us into the "up-sell." We also have rabbits and we were taking them to a vet in GF.

We found out one of them had bladder stones and needed surgery. The vet we were taking her to referred us to Dr. Dill because he had experience with this kind of thing and the clinic had better equipment. We happily took her there because we knew she'd be in good hands. The surgery went great and she's a very happy girl now! I would recommend this clinic to anyone!

I had been taking my 17-year-old cat with hyperthyroidism for 18 months to another local vet who treated the cat with medication. After I purchased some of the medication from an internet source while out of state, the cat became ill with acute hyperthyroid symptoms. I told the vet I suspected the medication was not good. He told me that the best course of treatment would be a "Senior Health Package" costing $260.

The results of all these tests came back mainly normal, except the thyroid blood level (in other words the hyperthyroidism). I realized the battery of expensive tests were completely unnecessary, and the cat only needed the thyroid blood test to start, with perhaps a couple more tests later when the blood levels were stabilized. I had been duped. When I brought my concern to the vet I was invited to go elsewhere!

No compensation was offered for the unnecessary tests. I went to Kelly Hause at the Animal Health Clinic and I requested a new thyroid blood level check be done, and I asked her for a second opinion about what tests were necessary. She agreed that another blood thyroid level check should be done. She also suggested an ultrasound ECHO because of a fast heart-rate and indicators from the EKG done at the other vet's (the fast heart rate then stabilized within a week).

I asked Ms. Hause how much an ultrasound ECHO would cost. She said she would send me an estimate. Several days later I received an estimate of $379.31. I took the first vet to small claims court and asked Ms. Hause to write a note saying what tests she had advised, what tests she did not advise, and why. She sent me a letter a week later in the mail outlining a whole assortment of issues covered that I had not requested be covered, although strangely she did not state what tests she had advised, had not advised, and why, which was the only thing I requested!

She simply referred vaguely to having advised what tests done at the other vet were proper. The letter was written apparently to be exculpatory evidence for the other vet. She added untruths, such as that I had refused the ultrasound ECHO. I called her and asked why she left out the information I requested, but included inaccurate statements. She insisted I wanted her to assess the other vet's services.

I explained once again that I only wanted her to detail what she had recommended and why. She said she would not change the letter. I let her speak for another minute or so and at the end she hung up without letting me respond. I went to small claims court the next day and the first vet pulled out a copy of the letter that Ms. Hause wrote for me, and said Ms. Hause had been "nice" enough to offer it to him! Yet, this letter was part of my file!

I never gave Ms. Hause permission to share my file with any other third party. She deliberately interfered with my contract dispute with that vet in an attempt to protect him from having to refund me for unnecessary tests that were in violation of my contract with him to treat the cat for hyperthyroid acute symptoms. I lost the small claims case. Ms. Hause's letter also indicated that she did not in fact give me a second opinion as I had requested, rather she had based her findings on the other vet's records and the results of his tests - therefore defeating my purpose of getting a second opinion! *Update: July 11, 2010: I just got copes of the records from Animal Health Clinic, and they added in the false statement that they told me that they would have advised the same tests for the cat that the old vet advised.

A complete lie. In fact, she kept telling me that she could not comment on what the other vet had done. The Animal Health Clinic will not think twice about falsifying the records.
