Jodi received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychiatric Social Work at Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, CT, and joined SMAEC in 2018. I want to thank all the staff that helped Bella and I during our emergency. Everyone helped me to take care of my dogs injuries, and answered all my questions with compassion. The peace of mind they helped me to achieve during this stressful time was a blessing. Thank you all so much! We brought our dog here two years ago when she had a leg injury, and they treated her so sweetly. She couldn't lay on the hard ground, so the receptionists brought her a comforter to lay on while we waited to see a vet.

They literally send you the fingerprint of your animal with words "always in your heart" or something like that after the animal pass away. pretty human i would say. plus, their stuff was rude with us when we came for euthanasia, especially nurse. such humanistic behaviour.

Prior to coming to this emergency vet hospital i called another one and after telling them what my puppy was going through they told me that he would be fine and there was no point in wasting over $500 and staying up until 5 am. Something in my gut just knew my baby wasn't alright. So i called you guys about my 10 month old puppy. He was have trouble catching his breath and his belly was hard.

I was told to that he definitely needs to be looked at. After Dr. Steven Wasmoen checked him over we unfortunately got terrible news that he was going into heart failure. I was a mess and Dr. Wasmoen was so patient and understanding. After discussing my options we decided to let my baby cross the rainbow bridge peacefully. I was allowed all the time I needed to say my goodbyes before and after the process.

I am heartbroken he's gone but I'm so happy that he's not suffering anymore and he had the best life he could. This was a terrible night for me but I was happy that I had a helpful and understanding team to be there for me.

My older lab started having issue that appeared to be like a stroke from our perspective. I called South Metro as it was off hours for my vet. The vet tech's and front desk quickly got me into a room. Dr. Lindquist assessed her, took his time to listen to what we saw happen, did a thorough evaluation providing a detail explanation what he felt she had providing an action plan to help her with her symptoms.

We took her to her normal vet the following day as a normal follow-up and our vet also agreed with Dr. Lindquist's assessment. I'm very happy to have a service available during off-hour emergency's that care to provide a service of what you would hope to have with you normal vet. Thanks to the team for the help and getting us taken care of quickly. Very scary watching something like this happen to your buddy.

We had to bring my 1yr old kitty in after a dog attack with the worst being an option on the table and luckily he pulled through. The night staff were very thorough and caring! I could tell they gave him the best care and snuggles while he was scared. They were straight with me about his options which helped to make the hard decisions and they were fantastic at putting up with my anxiety. I'm glad they were open and able to help save his life and we are hopeful for a decent recovery. Good job all around!

They really took care of us when we had to put our beloved dog Jake down. It was a very emotional time for us and the staff were very gentle and supportive, they even sent us a sympathy card in the mail!

Had to bring our family dog of 13 years in overnight who had fallen ill. We weren't sure what to expect at 1 a.m. in the morning: I just want to thank all the staff for their kindness and respect in this difficult situation. The vet, Ms. McQuigan couldn't have been more professional and kind in helping us through this tough ordeal. I am very thankful for our experience and the professionalism that everyone showed.

Brought my 13 year old cat in for vomiting, weight loss and trouble going to the bathroom. The techs were helpful, however the vet, Dr. Birch was not. He kept burping while going over tests and results, looked disheveled, didn't have any eye contact, and kept rushing/interrupting when I was talking. My cat had to stay 2 extra hours for fluids, and when my husband picked him up, Dr. Birch did the same thing to him.

I took my cat to another vet and after the same tests this location performed, we found out that he has cancer and now has to be put down. I wouldn't recommend this place for emergency care at all.

My experience was something close to perfect, even though I lost my most perfect kittie, Mia, of almost 14 years. Everyone was kind, patient, compassionate, and efficient. They made a very sad experience easy and reassured me all the time I was doing what was right. Mia didn't have to suffer and I was able to say goodbye to her, taking all the time I needed. That was yesterday, I drove by today and blew a kiss to the staff and Mia.

After a vomiting episode late last night, I felt that Nova needed to be seen urgently. Calling around locally resulted in hospitals at full capacity but a recommendation to try South Metro Animal Emergency Care. We were seen by Dr. Bryan Birch and his team and we're so thankful. They were kind and gentle to Nova and explained every option we had with her so we could make a well informed choice.

I personally felt that the price of our visit and the care we received was fair - my only gripe is that Nova's gotten a little chubby during the pandemic so she needed more meds than other dogs may have. : I would most definitely recommend this place for emergency care and would use them again if need be. Thank you so much for helping us, South Metro Animal Emergency Care!
