My dog got some mysterious lesions on her face that grew exponentially over the course of 1 week and at the exact same time she also had some nasty, funky brown stuff in her ears. She was scratching them literally until they bled. Being the season down here in SW Florida, I couldn't even get in to my own vet for months. I was calling around to ask if anyone would see her. 1st visit and almost $500, I go to a local Petco vet.

She was nice enough, but hours there even though I had appointment was ridiculous. And no success treating problems. 2 weeks in, I end up at dog ER, 5 1/2 hours waiting ( I went in knowing that emergency animals came first) $680 there and no improvement in her condition. Return visit there and very nice doc suggested to see Dr. Burkett. Sooooo happy I did. 3 weeks in, her snout covered with lesions and the state of her ears horrendous.

The smell coming out could knock you out walking into my house. First, I begged for them to get me in, they had mercy upon me and did. He is very kind and compassionate and professional. He diagnosed with inflammation issues and ear infection. After various meds from others, he gave me meds that worked in 2 days! 2 days! My poor dog was suffering so long, I felt so bad for her. 2 days after, she is playing and running around, happy camper! Love these people! Highly recommended.

Pleasant enough doctor and office staff, but 215$ to tell me they can't freeze growth because it's too big. I could have sent a picture to him and been told that. After my initial survey response the vet responded referencing my "cat" and what I said about the assessment needed. In fact I don't have a cat but rather a dog. Second what I said is the other vet wanted to see if it was possible to freeze this off vs surgery given my dog's age or is it too big.

My askwas could you not simply look at a picture to seeifot was too large. Finally the cost for the 15 minute exam to say yes it's too big was 50% of what the actual surgery cost. When you know most people do not have insurance for pets this cost vs effort seems out of line

They treated my little Boba with love and care, and now that we know exactly what she's allergic to, she's getting allergy treatment tailored to her exact needs. I'm very grateful to Dr Burkett and staff, they're so thorough and kind!

My dogs' primary veterinarian recommended Dr. Burkette for recurrent ear infections that did not respond to oral antibiotics and prescription ear drops. Rather than simply throwing more antibiotics at the problem, Dr. Burkette took the time to thoroughly review my dogs' health records and to speak with their primary vet. He cultured their ear infections and found that the strain of bacteria was resistant to the medications their primary vet had prescribed.

He dispensed an ear solution with a steroid to reduce the inflammation and an antibiotic to treat the infection. I drive to Animal Dermatology & Allergy from Punta Gorda whenever my dogs have a recurrence. He is able to distinguish between a yeast and a bacterial infection, and prescribe the correct medication. Because my dogs have thyroid disorder and allergies to specific environmental triggers, they are prone to ear and skin infections. Dr. Burkette has provided extremely professional, competent, and helpful care to my aging canine companions. The staff are extremely pleasant and courteous. I am grateful to have Dr. Burkette within driving distance.

Dr. Burkett and his staff are AWESOME! Our Labrador was licking his legs and tails so badly they were bleeding and our regular vet couldn't get the issue pinpointed. I made an appointment with this practice and could not have been more pleased with how caring, the amount of the time they spent looking at his skin and listening to me about the problem.

He was properly diagnosed and made a full recovery although it took some time due to the severity of his issue. He then developed another skin issue so right away I contacted them and within a week my dog is back to his old self with more energy and enthusiasm than he shown in some time while going through these skin issues for 8 months. Yes, we are new to Florida and I understand allergies are common with dogs so this was a learning curve for us. Highly, highly recommend taking your family member to Animal Dermatology and Allergy for proper diagnosis and to give your pet the relief they need. Thank you Dr. Burkett!

Excellent vet clinic. Supportive and caring staff and vet that is 100% focused on the treatment of your pet. My dog was not responding to the antibiotics prescribed by our vet. She referred us to Animal Dermatology and now, thankfully she has had a complete recovery. We received calls checking in on her progress and as much help as we could ask for. Highly recommemded.

The only doctor that could keep my dogs ears from being infected. Cost me a fortune in Massachusetts going to the vet all the time. He was able to get her ears healed. I am very thankful to him and his staff who are excellent.

We are so happy to have found Dr. Burkett and his staff! They are just fabulous! He has helped our pugs as well as the pugs that we have fostered overcome many allergy and skin issues. We are originally from Michigan and, when we moved down to Florida a few years ago, one of our pugs started having horrible skin issues, red paws, watery eyes, red yeast on his face, etc.

We had tried every type of ointment, wipes, treatment possible when we finally decided to see Dr. Burkett and I am so glad that we did. After doing an allergy test on our pug, we learned that our poor baby was allergic to almost every popular type of Florida grass which makes sense that he started having issues after our big move. Our pug started allergy shots (which do take time to work, just to note) and the transformation was just incredible! He is doing absolutely marvelous today with no skin or allergy issues at all. So very grateful for Dr. Burkett and his staff!

An office with a pleasant staff and totally incompetent vets. I have driven an hour each way 4 times. been billed over $600., and my dog still has the same exact skin disease that he had in the beginning And, they don't have any idea what the problem is. I finally complained to the lady at the front desk and while she was trying to make excuses for their inability to solve the problem, and why every time I came in (paying $90. for the office call) they charged another $ 55. to look at a specimen under their microscope. This, of course was done during the half hour.

While this conversation was going on, a lady came up stuffed fully with self importance, and announced that she was "dr. Burkette' and that if I wasn't happy with their service I should go see another"specialist'. Of course I will. But I want to warn any other pet owner considering visiting this office to expect only a money scam operation with little ability to cure your pet's problems. BEWARE
