I like Bluebonnet Riverside better than AM/PM because the vets at Bluebonnet use emails to directly respond to my questions about Rose. The front office staff is also very helpful in that they will ask a vet a question about Rose while I'm on the phone without my even asking for this. There is also not a high turnover rate at Bluebonnet Riverside.

I love having direct access by email and phone to professional help for Rose who has several chronic and serious conditions. It would be well for this particular animal clinic to do what Bluebonnet does. I'll always recommend Bluebonnet Riverside. I have no need to be frustrated about poor communication now. BTW. I revoke my past positive reviews of AM/PM.

Too bad. Once were quite good. However high turnover of desk staff, techs, and DVMs. I respectfully would not recommend although I did so in the past for over twenty years. Corporation centric but probably not their fault. Still so sad

Great customer service and understanding. I have taken a very anxious dog in and they handled the situation beautifully. Love this place!

I have recommended this place to many people in the past, but I was so disappointed to pass their sign and learn they have reduced their hours to Tues-Sat 8 am- 6 pm. This place was really special and notable in the past for its long evening and weekend hours. This had two advantages: 1) Those who could not get off work during the day could still have a good vet; and 2) Those who had another regular vet could take their animal in if they encountered a problem, like a fast-growing hot spot or unknown problem, that didn't necessarily warrant a visit to an expensive emergency vet where those problems might wait hours behind auto accident casualties and so forth, but that couldn't wait over a weekend.

I was the second category of person and really valued AM/PM for its availability and the excellent care I got there. Its new hours mean that what was special about AM/PM is GONE. That was a real and unique service to pets and people. Now, it's just another veterinary clinic. I am SUPER-SAD that what it once offered is gone.

Was one of the best vet experiences I'd had until my dog and I were turned away trying to do a walk-in because there wasn't a vet available. They were empty but guess the vet was going into surgery. So my advice is call ahead if you're coming in without an appointment. This was the 5-star review I wrote over the moon with the walk-in care at AM/PM: One of the best vet experiences I've ever had was a walk-in appointment this past weekend to AM/PM with my pup.

I wasn't sure if it was an emergency, but it def seemed to be a sudden infection in his paws that couldn't wait to try to squeeze into my regular vet a few days later. Their walk-in rate is reasonable and their staff is amazingly attentive, kind, upbeat, and caring. AM/PM's extended appointment hours for regular vet visits are a game changer for me too.

I have three dogs and live and work very close to AM/PM now compared to my regular vet in north Austin who is wonderful, but doesn't have the extended appointment hours that AM/PM does, which are the same price for regular vet visits as my vet (vs walk-ins, which my vet doesn't usually do). Thus, not only was my first time walk-in visit a nice surprise, my pup is doing much better today and AM/PM made a future regular client for me and my pups as well. Thank y'all for taking care of us!

They saw my dog on a walk in basis on a holiday when few other vets were option. Excellent care--doctor and other staff were super polite and attentive. I wish they would let people wait in their waiting room instead of the cars (or install covered parking), but great experience overall.

I'm so glad I found AM/PM Animal Hospital. My dog was injured on Sunday morning and I needed to find a vet that could see her quickly. AM/PM Animal Hospital was very commutative during the whole time. They were able to see my dog sooner than they estimated. They took great care of my pup. She's doing so much better now and AM/PM Animal Hospital has followed up a couple of times to make sure she's doing well. All of this care and attention and my dog wasn't even a regular client before Sunday. I've already recommended them to several friends and family members.

My dog came down with a bad ear infection over the weekend and I needed a place to treat him on short notice, on a Sunday. I called AM/PM at 7:45 am on Sunday and they were able to get me an appointment for a few hours later! They were very professional and efficient, and we were out of there with medications within an hour. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

The female veterinarian my dog saw was 5 stars. She was very thorough and very knowledgeable. The only complaint I have would be the clinic needs to update their protocol because Travis county is in state 2 (not 5) for Covid. Austin ISD is not even wearing masks anymore. Even though I personally probably would still sit in my car, I think people should have the option to go inside with their pet. I know a lot of people think of their pets as their children and would want to be to be in there with them. That would be my only hesitation to recommending them to someone.

I didn't have a primary vet in Austin when my dog got hurt. I came to this vet and couldn't have been more pleased. My dog gets anxious at the vet and I couldn't go in with her due to covid restrictions, but they made her feel comfortable when picking her up curbside. The staff was very welcoming, compassionate, and thorough. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Honestly super disappointed with their lack of empathy. Have been coming here for years, never late. Today we had our cat break through the carrier which made us 10 minutes late 2 minutes past their 8 minute grace period.drove all the way from north Austin and they rejected seeing my cat saying they had a surgery and not enough doctors. No empathy at all.

Probably shouldn't schedule appointments back to back then. If y'all are ever on a tight schedule and an unforeseen emergency comes up then don't bother with this place.

This is a horrible hospital they are just plain greedy. My cat had urinary blockage and they said they couldn't see him but they said to go to the Emergency vet $1700 later he's home and I'm grateful but he's on a prescription diet which I requires a prescription. The emergency vet says we're not a regular vet we might not be be able to write the prescription but I won't find out until six tonight when the his doctor comes in even though they have all the information on file and this was only yesterday I picked them up. AmPm wants wants me to have their vet see him and spend money with them before they will give me a prescription.

What are they gonna do they're gonna look at the paperwork from the hospital charge me money to do nothing to write a prescription. In the meantime he my cat is starving and in the first place I don't understand why I have to have a prescription for cat food there's no medication in it whatsoever. Do you not do business with us and uncaring organization. I'm looking for a new vet and it won't be AM/PM.

This is a horrible greedy organization. I tried taking him there and they sent me to the emergency hospital for a urinary blockage. $1700 later I have my cat back. They recommended putting him on a urinary formula wet cat food and gave me a can to take home. I called AM/PM and they refused to sell me any food without their vet seeing him first. I told them they sent me away when he had his problem.

They are greedy people who won't do anything but look at his discharge papers and charge me for a visit. it's not like I didn't try going to them first I will never do business with them again and I'm hoping to pass the word to express my outright discuss with how I'm being treated. Why you need a prescription for cat food that has no medication in it is beyond me it's a complete scam from the veterinarian industry. Do not do business with them.

Shady as hell. Brought my cat snoopy to them last year when he was having behavioral problems - they ran full bloodwork and told me he was perfectly fine. they put him on Gabapentin, and suggested I find an animal behaviorist who ultimately suggested Paroxetine. AP/PM prescribed oral tablets. Cat wouldn't eat it, so finally we landed on giving him a topical on his ear.

It helped and he's much better.so. They prescribed a month prescription ( with 3 refills). The refills ran out this month so I reached out to them to refill the prescription. I called the pharmacy and they said they sent the vet a refill request but the vet didn't refill the prescription. So I called the vet on Monday. They said the vet wanted to talk to me about it and said they'd call me back on Monday.

They never did. So this morning (Wednesday) (2/2/22) I called the pharmacy - still no refill issued. So I called the vet this morning. 1st lady says "It's a controlled substance, we aren't allowed to write a prescription more than for one month". Well that was bogus because they had originally written me a prescription with 3 refills. So when i questioned her about it, she handed me to the "medical" assistant who said they couldn't do more than a month - BUT my cat was due for another checkup in MARCH - and if I'd schedule bloodwork. for my cat that was perfectly fine and who is doing fine.that THEN they might be able to provide me a prescription for three refills of Paroxetine.

So basically they lied about the refill limitation, to extort me into bringing my cat in for lab work he doesn't need. SHADY AS HELL. Needless to say, i'm gonna seek another Vet. I can understand wanting to check my cat to see how he's responding to meds, but the bold face lie about the refill limitation - absolutely unprofessional, and a strong indicator I need to find another Vet. And despite their advertising they are NOT open 24 hours a day. FYI.

I've seen quite a few vets in my time with a frenchie that has all kinds of issues. This place really saved him as I wasn't super keen to get X-rays on him since he has been diagnosed with trouble with digestion before I thought his vomiting was prob that flaring up again. Well thankfully Dr. Parker told me we should X-ray and she was right.

A foreign body was found and he had to be rushed over to another hospital they recommended for the endoscopy. They are very compassionate at AM/PM. Know and love my dog despite him only coming in a handful of times. Very thankful I've found good and quick care in austin. If you need them they will accommodate getting you in which is so helpful in emergencies or crisis situations.

I also see mention they are very pricey but I have t found that to be the case personally. Thanks Dr. Parker and team for taking care and having compassion for the animals you help day in and day out. It dosen't go unnoticed!

Found my new vet clinic! After noticing an abnormality in my cat, Milly's eye AM/PM was able to fit me in the same day on Sunday to check her out. They have pointed me in the right direction when it comes to navigating through specialized vet care in Austin. The staff was so sweet to my little Milly. Dr. Teis (sorry if misspelled) is informative, thorough and extremely helpful. Thank you all! Highly recommend this clinic.

I'm happy to have found AM/PM Animal Hospital years ago. There hasn't been a second thought in my mind to consider visiting other veterinary clinics. While taking my cats to the vet isn't necessarily a fun trip, I always feel confident bringing them here knowing they'll be in great hands. I really do appreciate y'all and thank you for keeping Adeline and Switchblade in tiptop shape! Shoutout to Kayla for crushing it up front (always appreciate the next day follow-up call)!

I had a great experience with AMPM. I was able to get my dog in last minute for an appointment the next day, the staff was amazing and kind when letting me know what was going on with my pug. She walked me through what was needed and explained everything, asking several times if I had any further questions. The price was very reasonable as well. I even got a phone call the next day from someone just checking on how my dog was doing.

I also found a stray dog this day and brought him here to be scanned for a microchip. The staff was very helpful and I gave me the microchip number and instructed me what to do next! This will be my go to vet from now on. Thanks for everything!

We came in on short notice for a quick check up for our dog because of a lump he had on his back leg and they were very accommodating and patient. Jessica did great with our dog, who is a tad bit older and we loved the overall experience. We will be back for our dogs vaccines!

I took my fur baby in on Sunday for an eye infection. The staff was super efficient upon my check in phone call, the follow up phone call prior to exam, doctor call, and then check out call. The sweet tech came out to my car as they are only offering curbside now and was super patient as I coaxed my baby out of the car. They even called me 2 days later to check in on my baby and ask if I had any more questions or concerns. Well done!

I have taken my cats to AM/PM for everything from vaccinations to walk-in emergency visits. AM/PM vets / staff are absolutely the kindest most understanding folks in Austin. They were able to see my grumpy 7 year old dog, treat his ear infection and update his vaccines within two days of my appointment request. The entire staff were so kind and gently with dog and made sure he had a good non-traumatic experience with them. They followed up vis phone the day after his appointment and have made themselves available in case he needs another visit. I'm so appreciative and I would recommend this vet to anyone of my friends with pets.

My cat had a weekend emergency, so all ER vets were either at full capacity or getting dangerously close to a cut-off point. I chose to take my chances with a 40min drive to AM/PM and I'm so glad I did. It was the most precise and thoughtful care I've ever received at an ER vet. They did the exact tests and samples I was expecting and nothing more, finding the problem flawlessly.

They then taught me how to administer my cat's meds, watched me give them to my cat to make sure I got some practice, and even answered my worried questions over the phone when I got home. The price, I believe, was totally affordable and worth it, especially considering the efficiency and importance of every service and treatment my cat received. Thanks so much for the excellent care, sweet Pigeon is doing so much better today!

Dr. Parker and her team were so kind and patient with me and my kitty. I was worried about her because her toe looked bloody and I wasn't sure what was wrong with it. The exam was very thorough and the doctor even helped me sort out some other issues that I've been dealing with for kitty. Everyone, from the vet tech to the front desk ladies were very professional and just warm and friendly.

Like another reviewer here said, i used to take my pet to Thrive on Oltorf but I'm switching to AM/PM instead. I love the individual care that AM/PM was able to provide. We even got a follow up call this morning to make sure that kitty was doing well. What a gem this place is! They have reasonable appointment times, everyone is so so kind, and they truly care about the well being of your fur baby. Thank you to everyone who helped us yesterday. This is exactly the type of business I am happy to support!

I have gone to AM/PM Animal Hospital a few times over the past 10 years with a cat and two dogs. The experience was always professional, kind and caring. The Vets were always thorough and helpful. My favorite thing is they are open 24 hours a day. Why our pets only decide to get hurt or eat something on Fridays at 5pm I will never be able to answer but, this place always has an appointment for a frantic fur parent! Love you all for helping me when I need it most. Thank you! PS. If I lived closer, I would use you all as my routine vet!

I had a great experience with this place - took my corgi in, they saw her right away without any appointment (already a big deal!), conducted emergency procedures and give me some treatment and services options (always grateful for that). Fast and easy! The bill wasn't that big either - big relief for someone without pet insurance. We have a puppy package with Banfield, however, they couldn't see us at any of their locations. If something happens to my girl again, this is the place I'll go to

Beyond! After waiting close to an hour at another clinic, my husband drove to AM/PM Animal Hospital to put our dying cat down. The staff and vet were so kind, patient and professional. They even made a little plaque with our old cat's name and paw prints. I wish I could give this clinic 10 stars! Thank you so much for being sensitive during such a difficult time.

I took my puppy to AMPM today for his first check up with Dr. Theis, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience! From the first call I made to the office, I was impressed. They made paperwork easy and told me what the appointment would be like so I could come in prepared. COVID has made the vet experience different, but AMPM did a great job at accommodating to these unprecedented times.

I arrived for my appointment, called the office, and they promptly grabbed my puppy to take him in for his checkup. All COVID safe! Dr. Theis called me after checking him and was patient to answer all my questions--and I had a lot! My pup received a complimentary first heart worm medication and nail clipping, which was great! Probably the most impressive thing is that they gave me a sheet of all vaccines I should get my pup with dates to schedule the appointments as well as prices of each vaccine!

I love the transparency! Their staff was so understanding with my questions and provided such thorough answers, which made me feel at ease during this experience. 100% recommend! Teddy and I both can't wait to go back!

I've taken 3 animals to this vet in the past 10 years and have spent upwards of 10k (always paid in full and up front) on exams, medications and emergency care. Recently, after a vet visit, they called me claiming a billing error and that I owed them another $100. During my visit and checkout, the staff made multiple mistakes that resulted in said error.

They even gave me the wrong dose of medication, I came back to have it replaced and again they confirmed I was full and clear. Their staff are now calling me 2-3 times A WEEK wanting their $100 which was a result of their error. After explaining it was an error once again and that I do not have the additional $100 to pay them today due to COVID, the staff member addressed me in a nasty tone and demanded I bring the medication back if I didn't have the money today.

There was no mention of a payment plan, or a way that I could pay it when I had money in the near future. How are you supposed to bring something back that your animal has already invested? This was an extremely insulting and disrespectful experience. Horrible customer service. The staff person clearly did not know how to de escalate a situation, and in turn it made the situation worse.

Everyone makes mistakes and this mistake and responsibility should have been assumed by the clinic and staff. It sounded as if she were threatening me at the end of the call when I informed her that again I did not have the money today and that I would be permanently moving my pet care elsewhere. I have had a few good experiences at this vet before and I did have one other major issue with customer service regarding a lack of empathy/compassion by a vet tech.

I work in the helping profession as well (with people!) and I'm fully aware of compassion fatigue and burnout. It is the clinic staff's Manager and Owner who need to assume responsibility for these behaviors and to train their staff properly about these issues, check in with them frequently and provide instruction on how to navigate difficult conversations and situations. No excuses. This was the icing on the cake.

I cannot thank the Am/Pm team enough for the thoughtful, kind and quick care they provided my pup, Walter over the past three years. Walter has a VERY precarious stomach so there was a point where we were at AM/PM at least 1-2 times a month with pancreatitis/dehydration/parasites etc etc. It was nice to have his emergency vet be the same as his regular day to day vet.

I had also boarded him at the clinic a couple of times and each time he was very clearly loved on by all the staff - some even recognizing him when we'd come in. A big shout out some of his favorite staff: Autumn, Shannon, and Alissa. Walter and I have moved to NC but I would recommend AM/PM to anyone in Austin. We miss you guys!

Brought my kitten in for a health evaluation, they missed an issue with my cat which I brought up to the team, which they told me "you did not bring the issue up." Overpriced & went to a new vet. The team does care, but there are better vets with better prices in Austin. Edit: was called by their office to see how they could do better, the team not caring is not the issue, other people might have better experiences than I have.

My dog has a limp that had been getting worse throughout the week. I took him in on a Saturday knowing that I'd have to pay extra since he's not an established patient there and that we'd need to be triaged amongst other animals coming in. The receptionist did a fantastic job ensuring that I understood the wait, offered other options b/c they were busy and was very friendly.

I decided to wait. I did wait for 1-2 hours, but it was worth it! Dr Kimbrough was so thorough and very knowledgeable. Estimates were provided so that I could make informed decisions. Plan of care was very thorough and well explained. I love the vet that my dog has been seeing for years, but I'm seriously considering switching to AM/PM. They really were wonderful. I highly recommend this clinic.

I came with an emergency because my dog was hit by a car. He wasn't badly injured (as far as I can tell) but I wanted to get him checked. I was told I needed to wait an hour, so I asked if it's fine if leave and come back. I was told I can leave and that they'd call me to come back. When I took the call and confirmed that I am on my way, the receptionist confirmed that they will see me.

When I got there, I was told I needed to wait another 1.5 hours as they took someone else in. I wish they had communicated this to me first. Will never come here again, they waisted my time and didn't care to check on my pup in an expeditious manner.

I went this place because I move close by. I call to make sure I can get heart-worm test and get prevention medicine for my little dog. I like the girl who take care of my dog but receptionist is very unfriendly she didn't even say hello, and they were running behind. However after one hour of sitting and back and forth.at the check out she said seventy some dollars.

I was expected more. So asked why, I found out that my dog did not get the service done what I went there for!? Why? They told me because didn't have the preventive medicine. They are out of it! So what? I can pick up the medicine next day. Beside why did not told me that on the phone! Or when I check in! Why waist of time! I haven't been back here almost couple of years. Now, I am back here with a sick dog. I noticed things have been change since my visit.

We've been bringing our pets here for about five years, and we are so glad we do. Appointments are easy to schedule, and we've never waited longer than a few minutes to be shown to a room. We've been to AM/PM for a few emergencies, a lot of regular care, and compassionate help with the passing of our older kitties. Most importantly to us, our dog isn't friendly with other dogs, and when we first got him he had a lot of anxiety and reactivity at the vet.

The vets and the staff have always been so kind and understanding. Everyone who has worked with our dog has connected with him in a way that showed how much they really care. Super thankful for AM/PM!

We decided to try this hospital because the South Austin one on Frontier Rd wanted money and gave no real home remedy for my boy. This doctor took the time to showed us his xrays and gave us a plan for treating Charlie. They also gave us the option to try to save money and do home treatment ourselves. The office even called to check on my Charlie. His vet didn't even do that. I would highly recommend this hospital,! Very friendly staff and excellent care for our family members.

Dr. Parker is amazing and so good with my cat that has multiple health issues. She answers all my questions and helps me understand the next steps to be taken. She's very knowledgeable and always gives me different options to work with. I really feel like she understands my cat. Prices are also reasonable considering the great service you get. The staff/vet techs are also very friendly and helpful, whether on the phone or in person. I don't know what I'd do without this place.

Whoever the Indian vet tech is has horrible customer service. She is so condescending and rude I can't believe she is in charge of people's animals. She has the worst demeanor and should not be in a customer facing position. I've never had someone roll their eyes at me, talk bad about my animal, and just plain make me feel like garbage ALL TO MY FACE. She's just as bad over the phone so there's that as well. For Austin being such a 'animal loving city' the choices for animal care are way below standard and AM/PM is at the top of that terrible list.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. We took our dog here based on the reviews and distance to our house. He was vomiting profusely and was having trouble going #2. The woman at the front desk was rude to us before we even said a word. She looked at us like we were an annoyance and immediately told us that we would have to wait because there was an emergency going on.

As I'm standing there filling out the new patient form, my dog starts to have bloody diarrhea on the floor. She's annoyed and huffs and puffs her way through mopping it up. It literally takes her 10 minutes to do this and then she disappears in the back without a word. When she comes back, I asked her what we can expect to wait because my dog obviously needs help, and she gave me a piece of paper with other hospitals to go to. Thankfully, it included the place we ended up going to which was 1000% better.

You guys really need to assess the people that are working at your front desk. When pet owners come to you in an emergency, they are frazzled, terrified and need some compassion. The woman that was working the desk on 5/7 around 9 p.m. was the literal opposite. I can't even imagine what would've happened if we would've tried to wait and receive care for our dog there.

Easter Sunday and our little guy "Chino" is not doing so well, and we can't seem to make him comfortable, in only hours he seems to be worsening, and it is Easter Sunday - today! My wife phoned AM/PM, and the Vet-tech was super helpful, and informative. We took him to the clinic, and the staff was absolutely "present" and concerned. When the Vet-tech, Gracie, helped initially, I was at once put at ease by her terrific bedside manner and care for Chino.

The Vet came in to examine Chino, Dr. Parker, and she was absolutely determined to make him feel better and find out what might be causing his unusual behavior. She was extraordinary: bedside manner, communication with mommy and daddy, and very focused on the medical diagnosis, and the treatment. Truly, I wish all medical experiences were as well delivered. Thank you, to the entire team at AM/PM. Happily, our little guy is doing better now. You saved our Easter from disaster.

This review is more so to communicate to the owner (Dr. Parker) who I do like, that I am sorry to leave the practice but the front office and everyone outside of working with her, is extraordinarily frustrating and our animals deserve better. I recently brought Pooh Bear in for a visit because of what seemed to be an uncomfortable bowel movement. I had a video to help diagnose, pictures, and a stool sample.

The doctor (not Dr. Parker) told me she checked out great on her exam and there was nothing to be done. He didn't even recommend running an analysis of the stool that I brought in. I did anyway just to check the box off. Different symptoms now - she is basically going out of the box and I am googling and racking my brain on what to do. Of course, the front office says I can't talk to the doctor unless I bring her in.

Which makes 0 sense since I just did that and she checked out fine. I just want to talk through with someone that is knowledgeable as to what this maybe could be. What can try at home? Is this normal or what are the potential things this could be? Should I change her box to a larger size (says google)? Will her senior wellness (due in January) panel early help detect an IBS sort of issue?

Can we do something outside of just looking at her (we just did and I was told there was nothing else to be done test wise except scan which he told me that was costly and really reaching that he didn't actually recommend but I was pushing for something)? I can't for the life of me understand why it is so difficult to speak to someone knowledgeable that can give me some sort of information so I can make an informed decision.

I brought her in and got nowhere so how is doing that again going to help (I was told "maybe I just saw the wrong doctor so maybe seeing a different doctor will be different"). I guess they don't understand that bringing her in is stressful for her and not productive when they just say 'she is great and there are no test to be done". All in all this place is the most frustrating place and years ago I said I only wanted to see and work with Dr. Parker after raising this issue and really getting upset for the exact same reasons.

I only stayed because of her history with Dr. Parker but it is no longer worth it. Summary - if you have an emergency or this is all you can afford then go here but try to see Dr. Parker and pray for patience in the world when dealing with anyone else. I am not sure where these people come from that work the front but its truly sad they are so ignorent and seem to have 0 passion for their work or patients because we all know animals deserve only the best.
